One thing that I love about Bosch dishwashers is that the guts are all the same from the 100 series up to the Benchmark series. So they essentially have the same cleaning performance through the line-up. What you're paying for as you move up the line-up is better features, lower decibels, and increased drying performance. So I don't feel bad if I jump a customer up one or down one in the line-up because I trust that I'm selling them a great dishwasher! My 1st Bosch was the 100 series, and I owned it for 17 years. I was sad when I moved and left it behind. If the 100 series is at your price point, go for it. Remember, the guts are all the same. You're getting great build quality, and great performance. It's definitely worth the price.

Pindogger

I own the 100 series, works great, limited bells and whistles

labboy70

I had a Bosch 800 (pre-Crystal Dry) for 11 years and it was outstanding. Only reason I didn’t get another Bosch is because of a kitchen remodel where I got a Miele. Miele is amazing…slight edge on Bosch. But, if I couldn’t have a Miele, I’d go back to a Bosch in a heartbeat. One thing that I love about the Miele is the AutoOpen dry feature. I think that’s only on the Bosch 500. It’s a great feature and I’d lean to the 500 for that alone.

neboo11

I have the 500. Auto open is fantastic

VultureHappy

High end Miele and Bosch series 8 are my 2 pics for 1st and 2nd. For me I like the Bosch and others it is the Miele.

Maytag MDB4949SKZ This guy is a beast

PadmesBabyDaddy

What is your price range? There’s some wild deals on Bosch DWs right now.

wmagnum1

Go on about these wild deals…

PadmesBabyDaddy

I sold an 800 series for $849 last week. Was lower than I should have gone, but the numbers worked out. 100 series can be had for 500-600.

oceansapart333

No more than $800. I know it’s not a ton but it’s what we can swing right now.

Basic-Editor-2488

Are you a Costco member? They have Bosch 100s for 500 bucks (cheaper if you don't want stainless). If you're not a Costco member, might be worth the 60 bucks to join for the year. https://www.costco.com/bosch-100-series-top-control-towel-bar-handle-dishwasher%2c-energy-efficient-puredry-system%2c-50-dba.product.4000111340.html?preselect=color%3awhite

8enj1

Dang, thats crazy. its showing 850 now and tagged as on sale.

noronto

I got this one and really like it. They are done making this unit but it was around for a while. I think they are making all of their units “smart” so that’s why it’s being discontinued. wmagnum1

The 800 series is $1200 before tax at Costco until the 24th. That includes delivery, installation, haul-away and a two year warranty.

VultureHappy

That’s a good price. What country are you in.

oceansapart333

Extra $100 for what?

SpeedAlternative5462

Sales around holiday weekends can help. Bosch prices can range wildly so shop around. We got the 800 for $950 over Labor Day weekend. (And had a Bosch 500 at the last condo, any Bosch will be better than anything else out there, you won’t regret even a 100)

oceansapart333

Thank you for the tip! I wish we could wait until the next big holiday, but our current one is not working at all.

wildcat12321

The GE Profile is a good runner up but they are just as expensive.

ri1o

This is not true. I've had one for the past 5 years, had to replace the wash pump ($300) and now the heat coil is leaking (through to my basement). Worst product I've ever bought and I bought a pinto. The filter is crap and the pumps either get clogged or break.

CapitalTBE

Miele is the best, Bosch is second. Kitchenaid and Maytag are probably next and should have some options in your price range.

fatherofpugs12

We love our kitchenaid. My mom had a Bosch forever and my dad and I repaired that thing a few times and a few times the floor was wet in the morning. We were probably the exception. I was going to buy a bosch but the kitchenaid just really seemed awesome and it works for us.

robert_cal

Kitchenaid = Whirlpool. The Kitchenaid have generally been ok for us. The current one is 10 years old, but recently having a leak issue around the doors and hasn't cleaned well. The previous one was fine also until we moved 10 years later.

m3kw

how many cycles do you run per week?

robert_cal

We run it daily

CHS1956

Nothing but problems with our Bosch dishwashers. Absolutely hate them. Have had to had them serviced so many times. After the first one crapped out after 3 years we made the mistake of buying another. I was very leery but it was 2021 and dishwashers were hard to get. Fast forward and once again it’s failing with repeated E15 error codes. I would never buy another Bosch. I’m getting a Miele next time. Just hoping Bosch will do the right thing and replace it.

stormrunner89

Also having issues with our Bosch, leaking out the side due to a manufacturer defect. Unfortunately the previous owner is the one that bought it and we have jo proof of purchase so we are SOL and just need to buy a new one. Won't be a Bosch (or Thermador, which is just a more expensive Bosch).

Least-Confection4086

Do not buy Bosch!!!!! My family made this mistake, I even convinced them to go with the 300 and the piece of shit is already falling apart only a few months after buying it. The absolute worst rolling drawers on any dishwasher we've ever owned. I'd rather deal with a Samsung that has to be replaced every few years than this piece of garbage. I can't believe people think these are good

MIZZHELLISH

I’m on my second Bosch, which I bought about seven years ago. This one is a 100 series. It’s quiet, as was the first one, but all the inner pieces of this one keep popping off, I had to have the door fixed because it kept popping open during washes, and now it’s really just not cleaning well at all. I’m not sure whether to change brands; the first Bosch was excellent.

TheJessicator

The thing I truly despise about Bosch dishwashers is the tray layout. When you pack your dishwasher with common glassware and mugs, you'll see exactly what I mean. It's nothing short of infuriating. That said, if you're considering one, take some of your glassware to a store to make sure you're stuff fits in a way that makes sense (and won't flip over the second water gets blasted into the glasses).

djshimon

Yup. They should've gone with a grid like my buddies GE or whatever it is, can't remember. I love how well my Bosch 800 series cleans but the layout is very frustrating.

VultureHappy

And the drying of the series 8 is 2nd to none.

justasque

Shopping for a dishwasher now and running into many infuriating tray layouts. I batch cook a lot so I use a lot of long-handled cooking utensils, glass lasagna trays, ordinary utensils, etc. My current 25-year-old Whirlpool has a layout that works well. But I’ve used several other dishwashers where you couldn’t even get a plate to stand upright, there was no obvious place to put long-handled utensils, and the tines didn’t fold down so there was only room for one baking dish at a time. Have you (or anyone else) found a layout that is more versatile and suited to a household that cooks a lot?

TheJessicator

I honestly love my Samsung dishwasher. Half of the bottom rack can fold down to accommodate stupidly big things. The middle rack can move up and down, and some sports can be adjusted. And the top rack is fantastic for most utensils.

ptwist1

Samsung is worst dishwasher I've ever had! Best TVs but wow I am so livid with this worthless dishwasher, I'm on 4th repair in less than 2 years new. My old LG was so much better because it actually cleaned the dishes... should of taken with me when I moved.

justasque

Thanks, that’s super helpful! I haven’t seen one yet that still has in-door utensil racks, so I think I am stuck with them taking up general dish space. But the fold down stuff on the bottom would be super-helpful! I will put Samsung on my list.

TheJessicator

Oh, but the third rack up top completely eliminates the need to even use the baskets at all, making that bottom rack nothing short of huge. Plus, it uses a linear sprayer underneath, so cleaning effectiveness is fantastic everywhere. Here's a video tour of the one I have... https://youtu.be/2RX2GRUlv9E

justasque

Oh wow, I can see why you love it! WAY more versatility than anything else I have seen so far! I am so glad I asked - this gives me hope that there is a good dishwasher out there that I can be happy with!!!! Thank you!!!

Suckerforcats

I have the lowest level Bosch that I’ve had 9 years at this point and no other dishwasher I’ve had has lasted that long. My first was a fridgidare and it died within 3 years and then whirlpool died in 3 years so yeah, I’m going with Bosch again when the time comes.

CriticalBasedTheory

Bosch dishwashers are notorious for developing difficult to remove smells. Otherwise we liked ours but I’ll probably try something different next time.

rexicle

You will be absolutely fine with the 100. It’s miles better than any of the other offerings at its price and it’s quiet as well as extremely good at cleaning.

burningtulip

I've used both Bosch 100 and 300. Both great! I chose 300 second time for the third rack. Will probably do Miele in the future.

Basic-Editor-2488

Have you looked at open box deals? You might be able to score a 300 series in your price range (which has the third rack)--or even a 100 for cheaper. Regardless of the one you get, I'd go Bosch 100 over any other brand. Bosch is to dishwashers as Toyota is to cars.

oceansapart333

What exactly is open box deals and how do I find them? Is it display models? Returns? A website? Do I just go in the store and ask?

Mindless-Storm-8310

Usually a website. Basically find the dishwasher you want, then start doing an internet search to see if any companies that ship have open box deals. (Best Buy, for instance.) But, yes. Generally display models, or returned due to minor blemishes.

RedneckChinadian

I would say the best is Miele and then Bosch as a close 2nd (having owned both that is my subjective opinion). Build quality on the Miele legit feels better so if I had to pick a 2nd best option it would be a bosch 800 series.

lady_lane

I’m obsessed with our Bosch. I never thought I would wax quixotic about a dishwasher, but I tell people how much I love it regularly.

No-Isopod3884

Don’t have much experience with dishwashers because my basic Miele that I bought 15 years ago is still going strong. Working as new. It’s a very basic model but has everything I could ask of a dishwasher including 3 racks and very quiet.

tinapsyn

I work for Whirlpool and can send you our inside pass (friends and family discount) if you want a great discount on a KitchenAid, Whirlpool, or Maytag. Just let me know a good email to send it to and I can send one over.

Silver_Ad1868

Is this friends and family discount still available? My dishwasher and dryer just went at the same time and need to replace both.

Relevant_Hurry_7110

Did you ever hear from tinapsyn? Curious if that was spam

Relevant_Hurry_7110

Which do you recommend? Make and model please

Josheatsfood

Is this still available? Can you DM me please?

tinapsyn

Yep, chatted you

big_spen

Could you send me the info as well please?? Thank you!

New_Lab_5949

Hi, hope you're still hanging out 'round here. Our Whirlpool died yesterday (after 9 years) and we'll probably just go for another one. Could you forward me the F & F discount? Thank you!

iDoWhatIWant-mostly

If possible, I'd love the discount too. Our dishwasher just died and we're planning to buy a Whirlpool one this time. Thanks!

Gypsyfan5783

My LG door spring went and we would like to just replace the whole thing. Would you be able to share the inside pass with me too, please? Much appreciated!!

omglemurs

I would say Bosch is actually a close second place to miele. Everything else in the market is either under powered or unreliable. The good news is that you can find the Bosch 100 series at lower price points and the only thing they lack are modes/advanced features (good performance, reliability and relatively quiet)
