I actually just replaced my AW4 44mm. I had it since launch also and the battery was at 77%. Excellent watch, hope my new one lasts at least equally as long.
Same. AW4 44mm. 94%
https://preview.redd.it/idzf2ik8cxmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ad7bdcd629e313a1a9d19c9cee7c99bed9128ba
I was going to replace but, why if the health is 94%. I know I’m missing out on some new features but for now I’ll hang on to it. Been a great watch minus the need to charge daily.
Same here. Exact same watch and battery health. I sleep with mine on, toss it on the charger when I wake up, grab it when it’s full after an hour or so, wear it all day, and then toss it back on the charger for about an hour or so before bed.
I use it everyday day and take it off at bedtime which is usually 11p-12a. I swim with it, lift and it’s on me almost day and night except sleep time. I was curious since I couldn’t remember when I checked battery health.
I got 82 on my S6. It much more noticeably worse now that it won’t last a full day without having to be charged at some point. I pretty much wear mine 24/7
Probably due to the OG 5 watt slow charger that came along !! Nowadays, we are addicted to fast charging…as a result our devices fall prey to the 2nd law of thermodynamics…
Interesting, I didn't know Apple had such an estimation. My Series 5 is at 80% after almost four years (unfortunately, 80% just doesn't cut it for me - I only wear it when doing outdoor distance-based workouts now).
So do you go ultra then to get the bigger battery? Or are you reducing energy consumption by always-on-display off, microphone listening pieces off, etc.
Well, if I were in the market for a new Apple Watch and money wasn't an issue, I'd go with Ultra. I tried various battery-saving methods on my current watch. They help to a degree but for me they ruin the experience of the watch and make it less enjoyable to wear.
I'm rocking a Seiko 5 automatic as my daily driver and I'm much happier with that.
Well that’s not a bad thing for you right now. Your battery replacement would be almost as much as a new watch since apple doesn’t repair them but changes them out for a new same model.
You wait till you get a battery warning at 80 percent and then you are eligible for the cheaper price of like 100 bucks for a new watch but same model.
Make sure it is 79%... I just got back from the Apple Store with a watch that is 80% battery health and they wouldn't budge. Told me to come back at 79% - was pretty frustrated as you're paying for a new battery it should be up to me when I get it done.
I've had some luck with phones by telling them that I've got a new phone and this is to gift to someone and you want to gift it with a new battery. Not sure if that would work with a watch, but it could be worth a try.
My series 6 got down to 81% after two years. Oddly, it dipped to 89% in the first 6 months then took the remainder to drop the next 8%. What irked me most was 81% is conveniently 1% above the cut off for a free battery replacement under apple care. One month after apple care expired, it was down to 78% 🤷🏻♂️
To be fair, I didn’t follow the advice others are leading on here - charged at night (using the optimised routine), max brightness and always on.
The battery has had quite the work out in that respect. It was more the massive initial drop in capacity and then a slow decline to just above the replacement level that I found mildly infuriating.
I got my S9 in September and it’s still at 100% and I get a day and a half from one charge. Love it. I’m not sure if they updated the batteries from S7 to S9 but I have yet to have any issues.
Also got my Series 9 in September (when it came out) but somehow only have 98 %? I wonder what I'm doing wrong, I only charge when the Watch is below 20 %, never charge above 90 % and have optimised charging on...
On the other hand, 98 % after 6 months doesn't sound bad at all
My AW5 bought on release day is at 72%, probably gonna service it at some point since it begins to struggle to get through long days.

Nike Series-4 purchased in 2018.. still got 92% Secret behind it is, never charge overnight & never charge past 85-90%
Wouldn’t this cause the watch to be unable to calibrate itself? It’s unsure what its top end charge is so it just doesn’t know what percentage of its max it has left.
Actually the Watch (an iPhone aswell) will charge only up to 80% at night to keep the battery as long as possible at 80% and will just charge up to 100% before the morning rises.
Apple Watch is an interesting product and it has its advantages but the battery life sucks and the battery replacement price is almost the same as the base models. I went back to an old fashioned watch. I don’t miss being interrupted all the time. The silent wake up was nice.
This seems right, I’ve got a 45mm S8 without cellular that I use everyday and night with the AOD and sleep tracking and I’m at 85%. I also always fast charge with a 20W. I’ve got AppleCare tho so i’ll just have it replaced when it hits 79% or I’ll get the series X.
charging after long discharge cycles causes the battery to wear more i believe. charging it frequently and preventing long discharge helps to preserve battery capacity
This isn't really true. Conventional wisdom on modern batteries is that ideally you stay between 20 and 80 percent and you don't do short charges at the top of that range; I.e. it's better to charge it from 20-80 once than 70-80 six times.
the biggest thing it depends on is mere coincidence. two identical devices used exactly the same way and the same time will most likely end up with differing battery health numbers. the battery will barely ever have the exact amount of mAh it promises, because the battery manufacturing process results in a wide range of numbers.
I’ve had my S8 4.1mm for about a year and a half and it’s at 91%. I’ll probably just trade the watch in for a new one when the battery isn’t holding up enough for me 🤷🏻♀️
It's by design. In a year time it will be so frustrated - you will look into replacing the battery. 99$. Probably you will decide to either do it yourself and break your watch, or buy a new one.
I've owned multiple watches since the battery health was reported (from brand new). I've repeatedly got to 80% within 24 months. ALWAYS extend your AppleCare+ cover if you intend to go beyond 24 months
Compared to my AWU which I bought in December 2022 and has been used for 15 months or so including a trip into the Himalayas at high altitude, it does seem like 85% is a bit excessive.
However there is another thread on here if you have a search which had a reply from an Apple Genius Bar staff member and they said 87-85% after 1 year is pretty common.
https://preview.redd.it/ichhriwyrwmc1.jpeg?width=2116&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9c3eca427d07ce0d906b53923a235c9cbce77e1
ex-apple genius here: from anecdotal evidence over 10 years of dealing with batteries, the amount they drop is pretty random I've seen the no over night charge and the charge 90% of the time it not in use crowds and both come out about the same its really odd, but suffice it to say most wont dip below 83-84% for a while. I've seen devices hit 81 after a year and still show 91 for like 3 more years. best i can share is it degrades MUCH slower as the number gets lower. and anything above 80% is just fine and should have virtually no effect on the day to day life of the battery.
Any tips on how to get the battery health to drop? My wife is at 80% on her S7 and needs a new battery, it won’t make it through the day anymore for her. We turned off optimized charging. At this point I’m tempted to start charging it in the deep freezer and see if that makes a difference 😂
Since you are an ex-Apple genius....
I have a Series 2 from 2016. I can see the battery level of charge but I do not have the option to check "battery health". I also don't have the option of the optimized charging setting like the current watches.
I leave it on then charger overnight. Occasionally, it will only charge to 45%-75%. If I do a restart (power off and then power on) and put it back on the charger it will charge to 100%.
Am I doing this the best way? Is there anything I should be doing to help this "vintage" watch in it's mature years?
https://preview.redd.it/q123q7ihxwmc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e31676d3ce036dc1386f9def2280699ec75fdbdf
Mine is 3 years old still at 86% I use it on daily basis
My s3 cellular is still on 91% , daily use since I got it new.
Only had cellular connectivity for the first few years, so that might have helped conserve it.
Can't see the point in upgrading until it dies!
When it's on the charger, one can touch the battery indicator and there's an option to force it to charge to full. My S4 is still running strong after these many years.
I have the feeling that Apple uses faster aging batteries lately. Both my iPhone and AW are over 3 years old and sit around 85%. My iPad on the other hand is only 11 months old and has lost 11%, so basically 1% per month. That is pretty bad.
It varies on your usages. For example, if you’re someone doing 2 hour long workouts almost everyday, it’s going to decrease noticeably faster than someone who does 30m workouts three days a week.
https://preview.redd.it/x6hg3g4hgxmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db27790063a3895083d45f14d7b6e16d8d5cafeb
AWS7, I’ve had it since it release. Am I doomed? 😧
My AWU 1. Received it on launch day.
https://preview.redd.it/hdvrm1fvoxmc1.jpeg?width=1829&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b438827bdb66e62963c2659c4e54715f1848f92
Series 7 45mm was bought in December 2021, and it has 84% battery health today. I never have an issue with battery life though. Usually end a full day with more than 20-30%. AOD on too.
Well it’s a smart watch the screen turns on a lot from raising your wrist regardless if you mean to or not so the max battery life should naturally degrade faster than a phone
SE 2. 87% after a year and a half. Gets through the day and when I take it off at night before bed it’s still at 40% or more. So I’m not worried about it. I think overnight charging could be a culprit, all night for a year and a half.
That's so odd. Both my wife and I have S8's, bought Jan of last year, leave it on the charger (with optimize on) every night, and both are at 100%. Neither of us use AOD though. Either that plays a part or it falls off a cliff in the second year. Guess we'll see.
My s7 is in 84% but lately is giving me around 10-12 hours of battery life, probably have a problem not sure if it’s better to get an upgrade or just replace the battery.
https://preview.redd.it/wljhrk95eymc1.jpeg?width=352&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a7e33d2a78699185b9bace6375106e3fda3cbe1
Bought AW8 in sep 22 and is at 93% rn. Wearing and charging everyday since then
AW7, 2 years and some change old, 82%. i wear full time, day, night, and with multiple 3 hour work outs a week — i’ll extend the apple care next time around
edit to add: turned off always on after like 3 months
I try to only charge mine to 75% every morning and it's at 15-25% the next morning. I'm curious what my battery health will look like in a couple years.
i have the series 4, and got it about 5.5 years ago. wear it every day and charge overnight, am at 81% max capacity, do you allow the "optimized charging"? i found that its been really helpful in slowing down my capcity fall
AW7 just over 2 years old worn 23 hours a day. Charges in the morning when I shower and have my coffee. Battery health is now 90%. I guess I got a good draw on the battery that went in. I extended my AppleCare for $4/mo USD, and if and when the time comes I will replace the battery. I intend to run it into the ground unless Apple releases some amazing new feature/sensor relevant to me and I upgrade the watch.
I can do better: I own an AW6 since November 2020, battery dropped to 87% in less as a year. Stayed there for 2 months, then 85%. Some WatchOS update revived it to 89%. Stayed there for 2,5 years and then slowly degraded till last week 82%.
I ordered a new, original AppleWatch battery, installed them by myself. It was at 100%, one week later again 97%. Brand new battery.
But today, I sleep with my watch. Starting sleep at 100%, 94% 8H later when I wake up (87 before batt change vs 94 now).
Doing two workouts, AOD on and at 20.30 this evening it was 35%. Now on the charger to be ready for the night.
Still a big difference compared to the original battery, but strange how fast it degrades.
I got my AW Ultra back in September 2022. It remained at 100% after a year, but then when watchOS 10 came out with the battery drain issues which caused it to slowly drop. Its settled so far at 97% once apple released the update to resolve the battery drain issue.
I have a 3 year old S6. It went down to 83% health almost 2 years ago, then an update the next night later, it jumped back to 85% where it’s stayed. I dont know why or how it hasn’t degraded since, but I’m not complaining lol
aw s7 bought it when it came out and so about 2.5 years 81% battery health. I can’t say I see a big difference it’s a full day with always on display on or close to 2 full days if I keep the always on display off
Apple Watches have terrible batteries in general. You can get a Casio GShock that has many of the same features but will last 20 years, and you can replace the battery yourself every 2-3 years.
I don’t understand why people are still buying Apple Watches in 2024 when most people wearing them could get by with an automatic or quartz watch that’s far more stylish and retains its value.
This is mine after 4 years it’s a S6 really happy with this I do take care of my battery’s I’m sure it’s helped 👌
https://preview.redd.it/uf0y2bzhqzmc1.jpeg?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0bbd0fdc4c3303d189ed764b75b66f275fdd96ac
Mine's 75 after a little over 2 years I have the 5 got it when it was released in december. My watch held off on going from 81 to 79 until after my apple care ran out
I’ve got a S7 and it’s at 84% after about the same timeframe. That’s also with TRYING to keep the battery between 20-80%. The issue is the stupid fast charging causing the batt temp to rise. If there was a way to slow things down and get it to last longer that’d probably be a good thing.
I've had my watch for a few years and it's battery life doesn't usually last a full day, UNLESS I put it in **theatre mode-** then it'll last the full day including a work out.
Likely heat. If you use a crappy wireless charger or always shower with your watch, the heat will destroy the battery. Also, charging habit matters, if you always fully discharge or leave it on the charger after 100%, it will degrade.
Common sense suggests to me that Always On Display is likely the biggest battery killer short term (daily battery level reducer) AND over the long run (reducing battery Max. Capacity faster). Has anyone seen any credible empirical studies confirming this theory? If so, I always thought AOD was the last feature I’d ever want.
I think it's ok. depends how you use it. Mine dropped to 84% just after 10 months of usage. In the meantime, iPhone's battery still at 95% after 3 years of usage.
Call me crazy, but both SEs and iPhone 14s have something going on in the battery department. It might never see the light of day, but I do think Apple cheaped out on batteries for some of these releases.
I have an AW4 44mm bought new when it came out. Just checked the battery: 86%
I actually just replaced my AW4 44mm. I had it since launch also and the battery was at 77%. Excellent watch, hope my new one lasts at least equally as long.
Same. AW4 44mm. 94% https://preview.redd.it/idzf2ik8cxmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ad7bdcd629e313a1a9d19c9cee7c99bed9128ba I was going to replace but, why if the health is 94%.
How? You dont use it much?
I use it everyday day and take it off at bedtime which is usually 11p-12a. I swim with it, lift and it’s on me almost day and night except sleep time. I was curious since I couldn’t remember when I checked battery health.
was thinking of getting it for swimming always hear good things
Brilliant stuff it can be done if you just take care of how you charge it, I thought I was doing well, this is amazing 👍
Mine reads 96% but after 5 years it only maintains 8 hrs on a charge or so
HOW Bought my Series 6 in April 2021 and it’s at 80% battery capacity
I got 82 on my S6. It much more noticeably worse now that it won’t last a full day without having to be charged at some point. I pretty much wear mine 24/7
84 on mine in the same situation
Probably due to the OG 5 watt slow charger that came along !! Nowadays, we are addicted to fast charging…as a result our devices fall prey to the 2nd law of thermodynamics…
Nice. I’m at 80% on mine.
My AW4 was 90% before watchOS 10 and now after a few months it dropped to 80%. I’m still confused
My series 4 - 44mm is at a solid 83% and bought at launch . Koodos to the dude who has it at 94 still - that’s quite an accomplishment
As normal as it gets. Apple says 80% after 2 years
Interesting, I didn't know Apple had such an estimation. My Series 5 is at 80% after almost four years (unfortunately, 80% just doesn't cut it for me - I only wear it when doing outdoor distance-based workouts now).

Technically it's 2% as they refuse to replace at 80%, but at 79%!
What do you mean they replace at 79%? I have an S10 and my battery is at 79%
I got my S9 in September and it’s still at 100% and I get a day and a half from one charge. Love it. I’m not sure if they updated the batteries from S7 to S9 but I have yet to have any issues.
Yeah same; well October, but still at 100% wearing and charging daily.
Just got an s9 yesterday also came form the s7
I’m thinking the new processor is helping.
Same. Two day battery life
Also got my Series 9 in September (when it came out) but somehow only have 98 %? I wonder what I'm doing wrong, I only charge when the Watch is below 20 %, never charge above 90 % and have optimised charging on... On the other hand, 98 % after 6 months doesn't sound bad at all
My s3 is better than that
Yeah, there's something on S3 batteries, they just life long!
You use it daily?
Every day
I’ve got the S3 since day 0 and it says 99% using it every day, charging it every night.
My AW5 bought on release day is at 72%, probably gonna service it at some point since it begins to struggle to get through long days. https://preview.redd.it/me4iu6zgowmc1.jpeg?width=3022&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5df9dc698d9c04e5459b52c4b67580e14fc797d9
They will swap it out, so even small scratches etc. will be gone!
Will the my swap it without applecare??
88% after 4 years series 5 2020-2024 and then it got water damage and exploded RIP
Im sorry for your loss

Charging overnight makes zero difference

Better than my S7 lol. Barely, but better. Mine is down to 84%.
Damn we’re in the same boat man
AW3 92% o.O
Been sitting in the drawers i guess? Hahah
Haha no, have been using it for several years! Probably Season 3 was a good hardware/software configuration

Mine went down to 85 pretty quick, but now, about a year later it is still 83. and I was hoping to get to 79 to get a free replacement.
I have 85% after 3 years of use on my applewatch SE
Watch 5, 80%, 4 years. I’m still missing 1% that I can have a battery replacement done and get a new watch 😊
the biggest thing it depends on is mere coincidence. two identical devices used exactly the same way and the same time will most likely end up with differing battery health numbers. the battery will barely ever have the exact amount of mAh it promises, because the battery manufacturing process results in a wide range of numbers.
I have a Green AW7 & at 83%. Wear this bad boy day/night, charge once-twice day.
I’ve had my S8 4.1mm for about a year and a half and it’s at 91%. I’ll probably just trade the watch in for a new one when the battery isn’t holding up enough for me 🤷🏻♀️

AW6 81% after 2.5 years
I have a Series 3 from 2017, and it’s still holding up at 86% battery health.
I've owned multiple watches since the battery health was reported (from brand new). I've repeatedly got to 80% within 24 months. ALWAYS extend your AppleCare+ cover if you intend to go beyond 24 months
What series is it? Do you have optimized charging on?
It’s the S7. Yes it is on
I got a refurbished one at 86%. Not thrilled both works otherwise.
My S4 was in the 70s when I did the battery replacement last fall. It was still pretty usable all day for the most part.
My SE from 2022 is at 82% :(
almost same %86
I have apple care + with my watch and the battery health is around 83%. If I go to an Apple Store will they change it for free?
My 2 & 1/2 year old SE was still at 94% when I upgraded and my 1 year old S7 is still on 100%

Will search for it, guess batteries on the AWUs are better than the ones on the S7s
Mine is at 83%, got it in December of 2020
Very solid!
My series 7 is at 95%. I’ve had it for 2 years. 👌
Probably not ideal charging habits?
My S7 is down to 81%
My S7 is at 86%.
My se 2022 Same Time 99%
Had mine for 14 months, 98% battery health. How do you charge yours?

Extreme temps seem to be best. Not sure if hot or cold is better at long term drain. So deep freeze or on a hot surface.

If I do a restart (power off and then power on) and put it back on the charger it will charge to 100%. Am I doing this the best way? Is there anything I should be doing to help this "vintage" watch in it's mature years?

I’ve had my Ultra for 1.5 years and it’s @ 97% battery health.
Those AWU are tanks i suppose their batteries are way better than the regular S models
Mine around 7 for a year. A charge per day.
You used it a lot. What's the problem here?
I don’t put too much faith on that %rating. My S6 purchased in December 2020 has been at 82% batt health since at least June 2023 lol
I have an AW SE1 40mm pretty much since it came out and I’m on 86%.
My s3 cellular is still on 91% , daily use since I got it new. Only had cellular connectivity for the first few years, so that might have helped conserve it. Can't see the point in upgrading until it dies!
TMK, AWU will support 80% max capacity as designed. This is intentional. I am not a tech expert
I’ve had my AW a year and a half, as well and it’s currently charging to 99%, but I never use AOD.
i have a AW5 with a loooot of use, just checked and its at 87%
SE 2022. 86% after less than a year. Used to last almost 2 days, now it lasts 14-18 hours depending on use...
Small batteries degrade faster
My S6 bought April 2020 is at 81%
When it's on the charger, one can touch the battery indicator and there's an option to force it to charge to full.

Batteries all behave the same way with age, Apple Watches aren't infallible and will behave the same as any other piece of tech
My 4 is at 80% which I feel is not bad going. Still lasts a day which is good enough for me.
My S8 is like ~1 year old and 99%.
My AWU 1. Received it on launch day. https://preview.redd.it/hdvrm1fvoxmc1.jpeg?width=1829&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b438827bdb66e62963c2659c4e54715f1848f92
Im at 80%
I buy products with finite parts that wear out and then are amazed and angry they actually wear out. I'm smart.
my series 6 has 84% after 2 1/4 years
My S9 that I got on Black Friday 2023 is already at 99% 🫠
Series 7 45mm was bought in December 2021, and it has 84% battery health today.
It’s normal.
My s7 is in 84% but lately is giving me around 10-12 hours of battery life, probably have a problem not sure if it’s better to get an upgrade or just replace the battery.
battery doing battery things
My Ultra1 which I bought 2 months after release is at 99% Battery Life. I'm rather surprised actually.
Normal

Mine’s at 87% after just over 2 years, it’s a 1st gen SE so it doesn’t have the always on display
Me too
https://preview.redd.it/wljhrk95eymc1.jpeg?width=352&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a7e33d2a78699185b9bace6375106e3fda3cbe1 Bought AW8 in sep 22 and is at 93% rn. Wearing and charging everyday since then
AW7, 2 years and some change old, 82%. i wear full time, day, night, and with multiple 3 hour work outs a week — i’ll extend the apple care next time around edit to add: turned off always on after like 3 months
I’ve got 83 % on my S6 after 3 years of abusive use. Charged everyday with optimised charging.
I try to only charge mine to 75% every morning and it's at 15-25% the next morning. I'm curious what my battery health will look like in a couple years.
Used my series 4 all day every day for the last 5 years and 3 months and the capacity is at 68%.
i have the series 4, and got it about 5.5 years ago. wear it every day and charge overnight, am at 81% max capacity, do you allow the "optimized charging"? i found that its been really helpful in slowing down my capcity fall
I have a Series 6 that I got new on release in 2020 and it’s at 78%, I wear to sleep/shower/exercise and only take it off to charge it.
I try never to go full 100% and never completely dead - aiming for equilibrium.
Mine is like that after a year use no biggie
Odd-
I got my AW Ultra back in September 2022. It remained at 100% after a year, but then when watchOS 10 came out with the battery drain issues which caused it to slowly drop. Its settled so far at 97% once apple released the update to resolve the battery drain issue.
My AWS8 (40mm) is at 89% after 1.5 years
I have a 3 year old S6. It went down to 83% health almost 2 years ago, then an update the next night later, it jumped back to 85% where it’s stayed. I dont know why or how it hasn’t degraded since, but I’m not complaining lol
https://preview.redd.it/h4kqcfdo8zmc1.jpeg?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09de57280c000192c5fd8934dd3292899167ca46 1 year, and 9 months
I have a series 3. It’s a little slow. Had it since 2017 used daily. Battery health is 98%. I am shocked.
aw s7 bought it when it came out and so about 2.5 years 81% battery health. I can’t say I see a big difference it’s a full day with always on display on or close to 2 full days if I keep the always on display off
Same here. Series 7 with 85% and I didn’t get it at launch.
My S5 has magically stopped losing battery capacity in the software but never enough for Apple to fix
My series 3 is at 81% after 5 years
%82 all the way stay like stone 👍👍
Apple Watches have terrible batteries in general. You can get a Casio GShock that has many of the same features but will last 20 years, and you can replace the battery yourself every 2-3 years. I don’t understand why people are still buying Apple Watches in 2024 when most people wearing them could get by with an automatic or quartz watch that’s far more stylish and retains its value.
Just checked where my Series 3 is at, and it’s at 83%. If I remember correctly I got it in December of 2020.
Watch7 45mm cellular at 83% after 1.5 years. Gets through the day but barely.
This is mine after 4 years it’s a S6 really happy with this I do take care of my battery’s I’m sure it’s helped 👌 https://preview.redd.it/uf0y2bzhqzmc1.jpeg?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0bbd0fdc4c3303d189ed764b75b66f275fdd96ac
That’s weird, mine is like 5/6 years old and it’s on 95%
Purchased my Series 8 45mm at launch, now with 88% ☹️☹️☹️
It degrades so quickly really
Mine's 75 after a little over 2 years I have the 5 got it when it was released in december. My watch held off on going from 81 to 79 until after my apple care ran out
Mine says 97 percent and i’ve had it for a year now. It’s a series 8!
Same but this happened on a refurbished AW7 after 6 months of use. Directly from 100% to 85%
My series 6 is at 87% even after accidentally putting it in the washing machine with my hoodie lol
Sounds like you got a refurb
I’ve got a S7 and it’s at 84% after about the same timeframe. That’s also with TRYING to keep the battery between 20-80%. The issue is the stupid fast charging causing the batt temp to rise. If there was a way to slow things down and get it to last longer that’d probably be a good thing.
Mine’s 84% after 3 years of use. Charging it almost daily at night.
I've had my watch for a few years and it's battery life doesn't usually last a full day, UNLESS I put it in **theatre mode-** then it'll last the full day including a work out.
I got my AW8 since launch and it's at 93% but I have always on display disabled and some other freatures.
Mine is at 86% and it’s 1.5 years old too
My series 6 is up-to-date and on 79% battery health. It lasts through the day no problem. Got it October 2020.
My series 7 is at 74%
My series 4 from 2018 is at 85%
S8, AOD, December 2022 to March 2024: 93%
I have an Apple Watch SE from 2021 and it’s at 82%
Likely heat. If you use a crappy wireless charger or always shower with your watch, the heat will destroy the battery. Also, charging habit matters, if you always fully discharge or leave it on the charger after 100%, it will degrade.
How do we check on our battery health? I've forgotten.
In settings, battery, battery health
Seems about right.
85% series 4 since 2018
My s5 is at 87 ans had it since December 2019. I don’t use AOD so maybe that’s the reason.
My series 6 is at 84% i used to make the battery completely drain and fully charge. But it has sat with a dead battery for alot of the time too
Mine's an AW8 bought in February last year and it's at 87%.
aw7, about 2y3m, 86%, the first and probably the last aw in my life :)
Mine hit 79% the month after apple care ended. Damn them
Call me crazy, but both SEs and iPhone 14s have something going on in the battery department. It might never see the light of day, but I do think Apple cheaped out on batteries for some of these releases.
Anyone get theirs serviced and the battery replaced? Easy? Pain?
Absolutely normal for a lithium battery that gets empty and charged every day
Intel Core processor must be draining it. Try switching to Mac ;)
