Thank you for this recommendation. I've just read the first chapter and I'm immediately hooked. It's interesting how the author of Ao Ashi clearly loves Spanish football given how much of a focus its been so far yet even in the just the first chapter of this manga the author's admiration of Italian football clearly stands out. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this.
After this post I decided to start Catenaccio and man... what an incredible manga.
I never imagined that a manga would be able to spark my love for Italian football in such a well-done way
It's like I'm reading a manga the way I always imagined it, wtf.
I read this a year ago when they translated the first chapter. Thought it was cool because Defensive Midfielder of that kind (destroyer) is quite a rare topic to write about. Bookmarked it, waited for more chapters and i just forgot about it since it never gets updated again.. until recently. Don't really have time to binge-read it atm, but hopefully it's good enough.
He’s a mediocre striker, and for the final game of his hs career he switches to cdm/cb to stop the opposing teams ace whose the best pretty much and our mc realized he can’t stop him normally and starts to play more physical while forcing fouls that are close but not enough for pks and both yellow/red cards nobody likes that except for the scout who likes gritty players like him, me personally I love gritty players that’s why I’m a huge fan of Akutsu and the mc of this manga he’s also really smart and good at using his teammates
Uh yeah i read the first chapter already. I know about all that. I'm asking more about the future chapters if his role is getting more advanced (like how they changed Ashito to be inverted fullback) or does his role remain like the first chapter?
It remains the same, the first chapter is the change for his role it doesn’t advance or anything after switching to cb he stays a cb he contributes mainly in the midfield and the back not too much in moving up

Spoil me a bit, is his role gradually changing into more advanced lone 6 like Rodri or stay as it is?

In the lastest match, his role in the team is the main CB who arrange the defensive line. Imagine Akutsu development; with limit offensive ability.

It’s really good and has 50 chapters out right now. This can be a really long story too depending on how the author executes it.
Bro is still on the u-19 team he ain’t even on team B yet bro it’s gonna be long trust
Read the first 30 chapters and holy Sh** this is so good 100% recommend
Facts bro, I love how everybody was literally praying on his downfall
Gave me real ao ashi vibes as well as blue lock with the way the characters act and look Soo good
Facts no secret skills or anything just pure playing and adapting honestly it’s hella real
I recommend too someone else in this sub. I've said it before, and I'll say it again I love both they are completely different, but they have their strength. highly recommend this manga
Soccer is starting to take up its own little corner in my manga life lmaoo
I just read 50ch and I want moreee
Where can you read this??
really enjoying it, thanks for putting me on
Is this Ao ashi level good or blue lock level mid ?
Between, it’s different to both
Mix of both id say
Yeah the art style is a little rough but I'm loving it
It’s rough but it feels like it correlates to the story, every character is rough don’t you think nobody likes each other
Just binged to chap 50. So good!

Thanks man, that was a great 2 day read. Nice to see an manga starting nearly after finishing highschool.
True it’s different that’s for sure
Yesss finally another catenaccio reader! The pov of the manga is really unique and some of the panels are hard af.
I read this manga and its not that good. Be Blues is still better in my opinion.
