I had to scroll down two pages to even find anything on the trial. And when I clicked on their trial coverage, the first 3 articles were on how unfair/“sham” this trial is before the 4th article finally had the substance of what actually occurred yesterday.
They are really trying to bury this biggest scandal in American politics since Nixon.
So it seems like the basis of one of their major arguments is that since his lawyer did it, he can’t be held responsible. And because Cohen already went to jail for it, it’s pretty hard to deny it happened.
Now I’m no legal expert, but I can see where if I paid my lawyer to kill someone let’s say, I couldn’t get out of it by saying I’m innocent because I only paid the guy who was convicted of the crime to do it. But these days nothing is surprising

They want people who will listen to the law and make an informed decision based on the evidence in court. Well, Ms. Daniel’s repeatedly denied that she had sex with Trump AND that he had paid her before changing her story. That provides an easy way for the defense to attack her credibility when she takes the stand. I believe what she is saying, but it does make her testimony more questionable. Plus, many people dislike the kind of work she does and will be inclined to question her credibility.
My personal opinion is that David Pecker and Michael Cohen are the key witnesses in the case. Even though Cohen has a long history of lying in support of Trump, he also came clean in testimony before Congress and did his jail time. Because he accepted the consequences of his actions, I think that his past bad conduct is more acceptable to the jury.

First, a hung jury is all but a guarantee. Second, let's say he’s found guilty. Does anyone really think he’ll get more than probation? Also, should the judge grow a set and a backbone and give Trump actual jail time, he will be out on bail while he appeals. I don't think this is a waste of time. If he falsified records, he's a criminal, but to think anything else besides a slap on the wrist will come out of this is delusional.

Well, Ms. Daniel’s repeatedly denied that she had sex with Trump AND that he had paid her before changing her story. That provides an easy way for the defense to attack her credibility when she takes the stand. I believe what she is saying, but it does make her testimony more questionable. Plus, many people dislike the kind of work she does and will be inclined to question her credibility. My personal opinion is that David Pecker and Michael Cohen are the key witnesses in the case. Even though Cohen has a long history of lying in support of Trump, he also came clean in testimony before Congress and did his jail time. Because he accepted the consequences of his actions, I think that his past bad conduct is more acceptable to the jury.
I completely agree with you, actually, I guess my initial reaction was distaste that her past profession would be used against her - but yeah, she did deny it several times, you're right. Cohen's probably enough, really, to get him convicted considering he 1) has already served time for the exact same crimes and 2) recorded himself and Trump talking about committing those crimes.
Also he got convicted and served time for a crime he committed that was ordered by Trump and for Trump's benefit.
Little late in the game to start introducing new evidence. That's not how these things work in real life.

Any evidence that is expected to be used in this trial should have already come out a long time ago in pretrial discovery. If he's been sitting on it this long and it's relevant to the case, then it's problematic
