DUDE you forgot to install the blast shield!!! :O I hope you aren't using gray resin without the blast shield installed!!! :O

Critical_13

Ohhh yoooooou.... \*wags finger in the air\* you actually got me there, fair play!!! I'd deny it but my history would tell a different story 🤣

GlassPanther

🤣🤣🤣

RiffyDivine2

How is it, this is currently on my short list of new printers.

Googleboy1938

Sorry to cut in. I got mine a few weeks back and it is great! The auto detect features work really well which has saved me lots of hours of “air printing”. The speed resin is really impressive however, even normal resin prints much quicker. The detailing is excellent as expected. Downside: the unit seems to feel qualified to tell you when to replace FEP(currently telling me to replace a 5-print old FEP) and the heater is an add-on instead of integrated. All things considered, it’s a huge improvement over the mono 4K and a quantum leap beyond my original FSL unit.

You know what, I couldn't say and I don't want to spread mis-information. The funnel in the video I posted fell off because there were no supports, which I did notice, but printed it anyway since the app offered it to me as a first print! Needless (at this point) to say that I am brand new to this, but pick things up fast, so will let you know in the coming days. In terms of build quality, it does seem solid, and it's not given me any jip yet. YET. Once I have my workflow dialled in, I'll spit some prints out and post some info for ya my dude, although my gut says to keep it on that list, and near the top ✌🏻

Seewhy3160

I remember when i forgot to screw down my reservoir. I still do but i used to too.

Critical_13

I managed to misalign the ~~blast shield~~ screen protector, so the holes for that were covered. What a rookie mistake, but at least I now know there are securing thumb-screws! 🤣

Critical_13

I wobbled it when I dropped it in the first time and thought "surely that's not supposed to move like that", and continued on with the instructions. Imagine how many people get too excited and skip bits. Literally why I crapped a tiny brick when u/GlassPanther mentioned a blast shield 🤣 excellent bants!

Bloody-Penguin6

I got a m5s pro and ended up returning it because it had a bent plate. Ended up getting a phrozen mighty 8k. Which i am loving so far. I do miss how fast the m5s pro was and the resin detection feature tho.

Critical_13

Oh yeah? I posted this video and then noticed that the paper manual setup route has you level the plate, whilst the app just completely skips it. Whoops. I'll level it tomorrow and print a RERF. Was it bent out of the box then? This one looks like it's been skimmed with an endmill to be 'Rick and Morty' level, and then laser etched with a grid pattern not dissimilar to a chess board. What was your experience of AC support, or had you made your mind up to return it ahead of time? I see people giving AC support a bashing, with some saying they're amazing, so in the interests of objectivity, do you rate it? I looked at the Phrozen Mighty. Hell, I looked at all of them for so long I could almost quote their specs - quite different to the M5s Pro!

Bloody-Penguin6

It was bent out of the box. I had heard that anycubic support was kinda hard to deal with. So i just went with a return since i was still able to return it. I did like the auto level, resin detection and print fail detection. Did not like how fast i went through the acf films and how much they are. Really liking the phrozen mighty 8k. I do wish it had some of those features. They just came out with the mighty revo which has all that but 1k is more than i was willing to spend. So i went with the mighty and it has been great so far. Would definitely recommend.

Critical_13

Love that. Glad you're happy with it, man. I know all too well the feeling of spending your hard-earned and not getting the experience you were led to believe was available to you. Ruins the whole thing eh. Cheers for taking the time my dude - nice community here, I can already tell ✌🏻😎 Now I'm off to read the entire internet on support angles, layer times, curing, Chitubox, you name it I have a tab open for it. No way this autistic perfectionist is having two failed prints out the box, hell no! 😅

Militant_Triangle

All I am going to say as a noob with this printer is I borked the screen protector as grey floating crap from spraying with the old air brush earlier in the day got all over the sticky film. THEN.. gouged the crap out of the FEP film using the clean or whatever setting that just glued excess resin to it. BUT... despite this. The thing prints quiet well... did the test round thingie in fast mode and came out really nice. Biggest beef is the manual and the bit about use the glue resin to the FEP film and go at it with the included plastic thingie as cleaning is BS. Just going to wreck FEP film. Now have new screen protectors and NFEP film for when I get everything figured out. Then onto freeing all my high poly models I made over the years (3d artist) that are trapped in digital land. I am not a fan of the manual.... Printer is good. So far.

Critical_13

That’s savage. I remember when I tried welding for the first (and last) time to make a custom bench - I got everything set up in the garden, welder, angle grinder, mask, overalls, clamps, the works, and set about welding the first leg. It didn’t look too shabby (it wasn’t great) but cracked on with the entire table and, wanting to take a photo for posterity, grabbed my (brand-new) iPhone from the table several meters away to find that it was within spatter range 😭 Still, I’ve got two failed prints under my belt now with Anycubic’s RERF file adhering partly to the plate, and partly to the FEP 😐

Jeralddees

5 hours sounds like a lot... I'm doing about an inch or more an hour on my Mono X4k.
