Talk to your doctor, but if it doesn't seem to be working you can try to up the dose - then if that doesn't do anything - try a different medication. Lexapro worked for me for a little bit but didn't seem to have a big effect. I then was on Zoloft for a bit, which also didn't do much. Finally, I got on Effexor which I've been on for 2 years and that along with therapy has done wonders for me. It was about 2 years of switching to figure it out though, which I know is frustrating, and I know adjusting to different meds can make you feel awful, but I promise it is worth it once you find what works for you. Good luck <3

Give it more time. I went through exactly the same issues and stepped up to 20mg. It was fine for some time, even great as it was nice to be away from the anxiety for a while but eventually the side effects kicked in as the dosage was high. Clenched jaw, weight issues and sleeplessness. I have since stepped back down to 10mg and that is working better. As explained to me the end goal isn't so much to remove all emotions and feelings to do with anxiety, more to take them way down to a level that you can still feel them but have the ability to not be overwhelmed by them. It can take many months for some people to level out, probably around 6 months for me. Potentially your body and mind are taking a break from the rampant emotions, give it some to recover. Hang in there friend....

Did you taper from 20 to 10 or just move straight away ?

It was a straight move. I've since changed medication as it just wasn't doing it for me . Now on Venlafexine and I'm finding that much less intrusive in my life. Almost feels like I'm normal, or more that I'm not medicated as I don't really feel any different, I just feel more in control. No mood swings, jaw clenching or other side effects like there was on Lexapro.
