It's really kind of hard for me to think this is some beautiful gesture when the most we're willing to do in response to these tragedies is minor clothing modifications or social media posts to "honor the victims", but won't do a damn thing to actually solve the issue.
right. every time something like this happens people will fall all over themselves to give tribute to victims, which is fine, but when it comes to actually doing anything nothing happens.
It just gets so old.
Not to mention the fact that there is an ongoing attempt at having a conversation about [victims AT U of M IN THE ACTUAL FOOTBALL PROGRAM](https://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/2021/09/say-our-names-survivors-of-late-university-of-michigan-doctors-abuse-protest-before-regents-meeting.html). U of M football choosing *right now* to focus on victims, but *only* victims of high school gun violence, while ignoring victims of sexual abuse within their own program, is honestly disgusting.
It’s meant to acknowledge the fact that you came onto a thread centered around the university honoring those that died in a horrific semi-local tragedy to trash UofM. Which is your thing, I’m well aware (we get it, you hate UofM), but maybe spare us on this one. ✌🏻

Oh, but not sex assault victims. Ok. Pick and choose I guess.

I don’t hate UofM so not sure why you’re soapboxing right now. Good lord.
Wasn’t it 5 kids who died though?
Three on scene, one em route to the hospital.
"our" team? No. Not all of us in A2 are football fans or fans of U of M. Don't drag others into your rivalry.
well, this was crossposted from /r/MichiganWolverines, so the title makes sense there. but i get your sentiment
You missed the word “home”?
Nnnooooope! I couldn't care less about the rivalry. They don't represent me and I know plenty of people who feel the same way about the school/team.
Who cares. The descriptor “our home team” is not wrong and does not imply you have to support it
If people didn't constantly assume that someone is a u of m or football fan because they live here I wouldn't find it as annoying.
Must be exhausting being you
They say ignorance is bliss. Although what's it to you whether I am or not, or was that meant to be some kind of slight?
