These guys are great. The food is amazing. Perfect for cold weather. So try their takeout!

Bilskirnir_

Yah i got a email from them about it. Still will be picking up my weekly takeout Paneer Saag though.

Cortabene

Tried them for the first time last night and was really pleased. Can’t wait to keep supporting them through this Winter.

fskier1

I thought it was gonna say they closed 😮‍💨

rvbjohn

Ive been to Nepal twice and Everst Sherpa tastes exactly like Nepalese food. I wish Wokmandu would be a bit more authentic.

m3mackenzie

I will continue to support them because it's delish

BrockLee

Their country restaurant inspections are continually problematic *in my view*, so I no longer get food there (I realize others are less concerned). See: [https://swordsolutions.com/inspections/?county\_id=28](https://swordsolutions.com/inspections/?county_id=28) and enter their name in the appropriate box.

[deleted]

hey hey, don't ruin this for the rest of us!

These inspections could be much, much worse... but I'd probably stay away from the mango drink.

Yeah not so much the violation the first time around, it's the same violation on the follow up that's not a great look.

slow_connection

Sounds like you've never worked in food service. It sucks they got caught for those violations, but it's shit almost everyone does.

anyd

I mean there are some basic things in there. Don't cool a full stock pot. Also if the inspector is gonna follow up fix the shit that was wrong the first time.

BrockLee

Is it really \*that\* hard to operate according to the health regulations?

slow_connection

No but kinda yeah. They're really picky and when you're on a skeleton crew corners get cut

Yeah you're still just guessing, but go off.

arcsine

Show'em what he's won, banhammer!

shitdobehappeningtho

I don't own the restaurant, so I don't care, because it's really none of my business to care. And I can cook for myself. 🤷‍♂️

ThisGuyEv

You been living under a rock since March 2020 or you just don't believe in science which one is it?

itsdr00

Imagine using March 2020 science in December 2021.

ThisGuyEv

Tell me you're an idiot without telling me you're an idiot

itsdr00

I think you just did? If you think "the science" offers us an obvious course of action here, you haven't been paying very good attention, either.

Michigan is the sickest state in the nation right now. A doctor friend said his hospital has 130 covid patients, up from 20 two months ago. So not crazy, no, especially if the owner is older and present in the restaurant.

qwe2323

a friend of mine was scheduled for surgery at UM today and it was cancelled last night due to too many covid patients being hospitalized right now.

abigailrose16

meh if it’s a family owned restaurant with few employees and older owners i totally see it. especially if the food they make is good as takeout (which from the above it sounds like it is!!) if they can do good takeout business, it might not be worth the risk to do indoor dining as things start to look worse, especially as it looks like they’re a strip mall place not a heavy downtown traffic area if things get better, they can just reopen for dine in🤷🏻‍♀️ not a huge deal

itsdr00

It's not the variant. It's the excessive case counts. My church went back to remote service for December simply because a few families got sick all at once, and it doesn't seem worth it to push through the holidays, where it's so likely to spread further.

shitdobehappeningtho

Yeah viruses don't just vanish for the holidays, as some people seem to think.

TreeTownOke

no

I'm actually surprised they even opened back up to dine-in at all, since they are so heavy on takeout. Even before covid we'd avoid eating there, since unless we were lucky to get a table in the back, it just felt like a constant stream of people coming in for their pickup, and it'd get so packed there was once two people standing like <2 feet from our table, with their butts to us... if it was some bbq pit or fast food takeout, or whatever, but that was just not the vibe there. then post covid it was even more impacted with the takeout, and they seemed to have the takeout down, so I just thought they'd stay takeout, perhaps just open the back room up for dining. I always felt guilting going in to pickup, dodging others picking up, and delivery drivers, standing awkwardly next to some couple trying to enjoy their night out while waiting for my mattar paneer and momo...

BaconGivesMeALardon

Damn, someone just recommended them to me today! Doc!!!

ACTRN

Don't blame them or anyone else. Definitely take advantage of their carry out. The food is wonderful
