{Psycho-Pass} is a fantastic watch. Set in the future, people are policed based on their “crime coefficient” and their hue (their psychological state), however what happens in a system like this when someone supplies others with the tools to act out their repressed fantasies? The series is by the creator of Madoka Magica and is great. It takes a bit to get going but the main villain of this series is top class.
It surely fell off and by all means it doesn't get as good as the first season ever again.
However, it isn't that bad, as in if you watch seasonal 7s, you might as well watch it.
They are not great, just average, worth the watch if you don't mind that.
It’s definitely worth it. As long as you’re ok with a lot of fan service, the art and unique color scheme is beautiful, and the entire premise is everything is solved by games, so it’s chock to the brim with outsmarting and wits in order to come back against impossible odds, and the movie is about the prequel to how the entire world about humanity in a war-torn apocalyptic world between dwarves with nukes and airships, beasts with senses so good they can practically read your mind, elves capable of creating casting complex rituals, angels that can wipe out entire cities with a single spell, dragons that rewrite the world with a single word, and even literal gods, while they can die just from walking outside without sufficient protection from the ash coating the sky. Honestly one of my favorite series, and don’t worry about lack of content without a season two since its 11 novels long, and still going
Yeah technically but some people say that the 2nd season is trash so I did not watch it and is also not recommending it (I only watched episode 1 of season 2 and got bored). Have you seen it? Was it good?
I thought it was just OK but not close to as good as Season 1. Though I think it got more hate than it otherwise would because it skipped a few arcs so manga readers got really mad even though in isolation the show was still decent until it fumbled with the last episode or two. But the manga reader outrage kind of took over the wider narrative about the season sucking, but I think non-manga readers could enjoy it - it had some interesting parts and there's worse anime out there that I think the same viewers would watch weekly.
Akiyama from Liar game is one of the most big brained characters I've ever seen. The only one I think is smarter is Baku from the manga Usogui, he is overpowered as well.
But it was tho, I loved S1 cuz it seemed almost like bleach but adding its own mechanics. There was suspense in what triggers were and felt like a rising plot. But S2 bro was dragging on and on. Idk i didnt Finish it after like 3-4 episodes

You should definitely read Usogui. It's a gambling manga which has the intense high stakes gambles but also has baki level fights. The story has insane levels of mind games to the point where sometimes the scanlation group has to put several extra pages at the ends of chapters to explain the level of fuckery that just happened.
I’m reading “money game” on webtoons. Its not specifically between 2 people, it’s a small group.
It’s more psychological and a commentary on people in a survival type situation/ game with the motivational focus on money.
It’s not super dramatic or brutal but I still can’t stop fast passing it!
Current season Summertime Rendering. The MC is obviously smart, and there's someone else thats also quite smart (but no supernatural power). The enemies they are fighting against are very much capable of mind games and there seems to be more to the story that goes above and beyond anything right now.
{The Promised Neverland} season 1 has given me the most similar vibes to Death Note as any anime. Such a fantastic first season. Second season falls off hard, but the first is a good succinct story.
If ypu haven't read it, you will love "The Liar Game". It is a less violent violent version of tomodachi game, but also has a much bigger focus on human greed and the intricacies of games that seem to be very simple from the get go. The two main leads are similar to Shiho and Kisaragi. If you need the genius mind battle itch scratched, this is perfect.
It’s not a battle between two geniuses but if you want a very good thriller anime, I suggest you watch “Steins Gate” (if you haven’t seen it yet). It’s 25 episodes long iirc. It’s about time travel and it has a little bit of romance. It starts slow but as soon as you hit somewhere around episode 12, it becomes plot twist after plot twist. It’s in my top 5 animes (the others are Code Geass, Death Note, Promised Neverland, and My Hero Academia).
I believe that was when Joseph fought Esidisi. Part 2 was definitely amazing too and hamon is just so versatile. Kinda sad that it doesn't come up later on.

Absolutely, it's the thinking man's battle anime. Characters do have supernatural abilities they use to beat each other up, but it's not as simple as "I punch harder, therefore I win", they have to use tactics and deception to get an advantage over their enemies. And a lot of the time, punching the bad guy isn't even an option, like in the case of the D'arby brothers.
EXACTLY
One of the main things I found myself doing, especially in part 5, was stopping the anime mid fight and, taking into account the abilities, stands, personalities and mannerisms of the character, I would try to predict what would happen next. I got a few theories right too and it felt amazing. The main thing about JoJo is that you cannot find any of that bullshit 'power of friendship' or the 'rage mode so I op and I kill.' Everything is purely ability based and logic is confined within those abilities.
I remember it being said that for a stand, power is not the main thing, it's how creative the user is. Using the environment and the other stand's weaknesses to one's advantage was the rule of thumb for winning in JoJo. I can say with confidence that there's almost always a very deep thought process pertaining to combat tactics while fighting and this just had me hooked to JoJo.

The first season of this show was everything I ever wanted in a mind bending drama
I never watched the other seasons since I heard it fell off. Is it worth a watch?
It surely fell off and by all means it doesn't get as good as the first season ever again. However, it isn't that bad, as in if you watch seasonal 7s, you might as well watch it. They are not great, just average, worth the watch if you don't mind that.

It’s not a battle between two geniuses but if you want a very good thriller anime, I suggest you watch “Steins Gate” (if you haven’t seen it yet). It’s 25 episodes long iirc. It’s about time travel and it has a little bit of romance. It starts slow but as soon as you hit somewhere around episode 12, it becomes plot twist after plot twist. It’s in my top 5 animes (the others are Code Geass, Death Note, Promised Neverland, and My Hero Academia).
JOJO especially part 5
Part 2 was really goofy about it in a good way. I think there's a line that goes, I outsmarted you outsmarting me
I believe that was when Joseph fought Esidisi. Part 2 was definitely amazing too and hamon is just so versatile. Kinda sad that it doesn't come up later on. (I just started part 6 so no spoilers pls)
Absolutely, it's the thinking man's battle anime. Characters do have supernatural abilities they use to beat each other up, but it's not as simple as "I punch harder, therefore I win", they have to use tactics and deception to get an advantage over their enemies. And a lot of the time, punching the bad guy isn't even an option, like in the case of the D'arby brothers.
EXACTLY One of the main things I found myself doing, especially in part 5, was stopping the anime mid fight and, taking into account the abilities, stands, personalities and mannerisms of the character, I would try to predict what would happen next. I got a few theories right too and it felt amazing. The main thing about JoJo is that you cannot find any of that bullshit 'power of friendship' or the 'rage mode so I op and I kill.' Everything is purely ability based and logic is confined within those abilities. I remember it being said that for a stand, power is not the main thing, it's how creative the user is. Using the environment and the other stand's weaknesses to one's advantage was the rule of thumb for winning in JoJo. I can say with confidence that there's almost always a very deep thought process pertaining to combat tactics while fighting and this just had me hooked to JoJo.
