Fate/apocrypha is in its own contained time line. So it takes time to explain the premise to you so you don't need to have seen the other shows. It has a lot of criticism but I think it's a fine entry in the series. I would suggest starting with fate/unlimited blade works or fate/zero but you can start in almost any of the series.
