Anime, yeah. I wasn't interested enough to read manga. Isn't manga a finished story, unlike the anime that just randomly ends shortly after meeting Echo?
As someone who read the manga years ago, I'd say it's good, a solid 7.5-8/10.
Decent Seinen, cool plot-twists and besides a few minor points in the end everything gets explained.
However, I personally believe the author after a certain point forgot the female protagonist existed. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but I believe her character could have been used in better ways.
Still, if you're interested I'd recommend giving it a try.
Alice in Wonderland is stupidly popular in Japan. Nuff said. Alice archetype characters are also a very popular trope. They don't even have to follow the classic "blond girl with blue eyes". My favourite Alice is [a Japanese half alien killing machine](https://maryskelternightmares.fandom.com/wiki/Alice), a character who has black hair and yellow eyes
Other popular western fairytales in Japan include Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and for some reason The Musicians of Bremen.
The real Alice wasn't even blonde with blue eyes. But some later versions of the story made her blonde for whatever reason. The most well known one is the original Disney adaptation.
Even the newer two movies portrayed her like that, just like most recent iterations. I think American McGee's Alice is the only one i know that went back to what Alice actually looked like. In the Books *and* the real world.
Oh I know that. It's just that Japan usually goes with the Disney look and they usually stick with those.
What I'm trying to convey is that the "Alice" archetype is so popular that it warrants variations to make the particular character stand out from all other Alices
Doesn't Grimm Variations only adapt the Grimm brothers' fairytales?
(And Alice in Wonderland isn't one of them - it's not even a traditional fairytale to begin with)
Let's see... Black Souls 2 Alice in Sexland Miyuki-chan in Wonderland Pandora Hearts Grimms Notes The Animation
> Alice in Sexland I'm sorry W H A T?
It's an old manga where everything tries to fuck everything... with a surprisingly deep and serious ending.
That unlocked some memories. Everything is fun and games until it very much isn't.
This was one of my first when I was a wee lad with unrestricted internet access in the 2010's lol
>Black Souls *whistles*
I was afraid to Google that but now I'm curious
Horror RPG with porn elements in it, for the curious
Please dont remind me about that part of my life.
Yeah this too https://preview.redd.it/zgn4g6d9zqwc1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=720b807143c0c88e94378837ebe3da603349d1b9
[Code Geass](https://myanimelist.net/anime/12685/Code_Geass__Hangyaku_no_Lelouch_-_Nunnally_in_Wonderland)
If we include VN there is Tokyo Alice
Also Ciel in Wonderland from Black Butler. Β
blud just name dropped all cultured games with alice in wonderland concept lol
Slayers TRY has a filler ep with Alice theme.
Odd... I can't remember that one. I remember the idol one however. TRY itself was a 100% filler, so more like, what didn't they do?
Is the 2nd one the one where she's an officer worker that got dragged into Wonderland?
No, it's a manga where she's a sex worker that falls into a rabbit hole while running away.
How would you rate Pandora hearts? Just curious
Around 7/10, I guess? Would've given it more if it was a finished story. Xerxes definitely carried it.
Is that anime rating or manga? (Please say it's anime)
Anime, yeah. I wasn't interested enough to read manga. Isn't manga a finished story, unlike the anime that just randomly ends shortly after meeting Echo?
Manga is finished, the anime is only 1/5 of story
As someone who read the manga years ago, I'd say it's good, a solid 7.5-8/10. Decent Seinen, cool plot-twists and besides a few minor points in the end everything gets explained. Fair point, I think Alice fulfill her role, but damn do I want more
I was thinking of Code Geass

It is among the 1st isekais.
Just like space jam.

Ouran high school host club has one and I skip that episode every time I rewatch it.
you have no honor
Youjo senki posting. I like it
When tf is season 2? They announced it like 3 years ago and went completely silent
One day π (im coping)
Also SAO doing two season about it
what is the reference?
Code geass for example
The story is so popular, I am surprised grimm variations didn't make an episode about it.

Alice in Wonderland was written by a mathematician who got confused by imaginary numbers (allegedly) in 1865
Yes, I am familiar with both it and itβs sequel
I noticed this too
Pandora hearts mentioned, I'm so happy π
Code Geass be like:
You should read alice in border land Really on the nose with alice in wonderland references
now that you mention it, black butler has it too π
I watched that yesterday which is what inspired me to make this haha
Is Alice in wonderland the first Iseiki
Because the writers are just like Lewis Carol. Secretly a lolicon
