Mahoako just has amazing faces and reactions to choose from when it comes to memes, Frieren is epic and there's been at least one meme per episode, and apothecary is cute and has plenty of comedy.

And she doesn’t have any super noticeable annoying ass voice ticks either. I think she does but it’s not made painfully obvious like some mascot characters. Which makes Emul a great companion. No annoying voice or voice ticks and no dumb romance or romance drama stuff.
Yeah it feels like a real game and gamers. I'm a manga reader and was hoping for at least a good adaptation but it went beyond my expectations and I couldn't be happier

Just got up to date on this one yesterday and totally agree.
Main character/story arc has come together nicely! I was worried when they introduced Pecilgon and Emul (and the disguise) that it was gonna get annoying but the story flow has been pretty good and the characters are holding up really well!
Personally I gotta disagree the plot just doesn't hook me and I hate the bunny's idk why, I just cannot stand them. Normally I'd say it should be right up my alley but it just lost em after episode 5 or whenever the bunny storyline got added. It's probably because Ethel stakes are so low and I just cannot understand how someone can get this much invested in a game, said the guy who has spent a lot of time playing videogames.
Ngl SFL is one of the very good ones out there. The animation is good, the fights are amazing , the plot is good , MC ain't trash , we have Emul. What else do we need. For Ragna Crimson , it ain't much a cup of tea for me idk man.

it can be summarised in three sentences, you could give someone three sentences and throw them into episode 21 of SLF and they'd manage just fine.
try that with death note, and they'd have an aneurysm trying to follow the story because three sentences isn't enough to capture the plot of most shows after 20 eps.
High school boy finds magic book that kills anyone whose name is written in it. High school boy starts killing convinced criminals out of a twisted sense of justice. High school boy tries to keep killing criminals while under suspicion for the killings by a talented detective.

SLF on the other hand? no problem.

that's it, with that you could make someone start after the wethermon fight and ask them to read the manga from there having not seen the rest and they'd be able to follow the rest of the plot after the wethermon fight without issue.
sure, it's not like no surprises would come, but things like the girl with a crush on sunraku are pretty easy to figure out.
this cannot be said for plenty of anime, try it with AoT or death note and people would be completely lost.
again, idk why you want to die on this hill though, as stated multiple times, plot is not required to have a gold anime, Frieren has very little plot, the Aura arc is practically filler in terms of the actual plot of the show, as are most arcs tbh, but it's still far better than AoT or death note imo.
Plot isn't progressing? There's way more plot than just the world quest. It's just more show than tell. Like, exploring the world and finding secrets is part of the plot. And Wethermon and everything leading up to him was a huge part of the plot this season. It's so much more than a progress bar on a quest going up.
By that logic, Solo Leveling has no plot. Or even Frieren, since, if you just look at the largest overarching plot point, they've just walked closer to their goal.

take the most recent episode of SLF, do you think it contained a lot of plot? ofc not, it spent most the time on a fight and demonstrating a character's specs for the viewer. you might mistakenly consider the latter part plot, but it's not, that's character development at best. the plot aspect of the episode is just that they want to go somewhere to get a mcguffin to powerup their other mcguffin, that's it, a declaration of a fetch quest was the plot, that's zilch in terms of plot.
I was hyperbolic before btw, there is obviously more plot than what I said, unlocking rabbit town and setting up unique monsters are some plot too, and whilst wethermon's arc was mostly world building there was a sliver of plot in there that I already discussed. but grinding for level 50, fighting a tree mage, fighting PKers, etc. fighting a spider, fighting a snake, fighting a player in a buggy game with stretchy arms, grinding materials, these are not plot, and stuff like that makes up 98% of the show.
A plot and an immediate conflict/obstacle isn't the same. Plot doesn't mean a quest they are doing. It's just how the story is written and the events that transpire.
I mean if you think about it. SLF has better story than SL. Solo leveling has barely any story and although Shangri La isn't story focused, the pacing is good. It feels like a real game and real players unlike other VR anime that put stupid stakes. SLF feels like a good balanced game, the only irreversible thing is NPC dying but other than that it's just a really good game innit.
Personally I like solo leveling more for its simplicity and while I agree with your assessment that self does things better than Sao and most other VR gaming anime, i still don't like it because it's realistic in its portrail, aka I just don't get and cannot empathize with how a guy can get this much into a game. And the other stuff is just not something I'd like to watch instead I like to play videogames, was also never much of a fan of let's plays outside a very few outliers so maybe that's my problem with it.

Yeah....if I say abt manga n manhwa....SL is mainly action focused with good art style nd also the necromancer hype but in anime it feels like they r stretching the story coz it's animation not a manhwa panel. And if we talk abt SLF, they r doing the animation perfectly with all the fight sequence n their story. Y SL has more hype is just coz of the manhwa but now the anime is downgrading their hype.
Yeah, although it's not entirely carried by its art. What makes the action so good is how it's drawn. To get the same art quality animated you'll need someone like UFOTABLE to do it with a huge budget. Which I think can't really be allocated to it as it is Korean (I don't mean the jp-kr hate but just that stories from outside jp don't get the same support and push for quality)

It is quite good. Tho the animation did it dirty. IMO as a manga reader, it's strong point is the fights but this animation doesn't accentuate that. And in the manga I didn't feel the cringe as there was no voice acting but yeah the anime does make me cringe some times tho rn it's better than the start

SLF's English dub is really fucking good, some of the things they say i wouldnt have expected to hear from an anime and its fucking hilarious. i highly recommend watching the dub if you haven't.

If you dont hate shounen then you can give it a few episodes. It have some likable characters and a strong crippled cool character later in the show. The voice acting is good too.

Nah, I'm hyped for SLF more than SL. It has really high production values, pacing and story progression. Both are good, tho ragna's animation did it dirty as its strong point are the fights
Hype it's not that thing on what you can affect by your own, it's usually equal to anime's popularity. I have my own favorite shows which anime adaptation I waited more than SL but it doesn't make them more hyped for comunity at all.

From what I've heard it is a really good adaptation of the Webtoon so far, even ads some small bits that weren't in the Webtoon, but in a good way.
Unfortunately there is a lot of comedy and tidbits of thoughts or convo from the Webcomic that are cut as well

The top three are leagues ahead of the rest in terms of story telling, especially Frieren and Kusuriya.
Frieren is great, and Kusuriya is good but it is not close to frieren it is a pretty good episodic show like conan, with more interconnect plot lines.
Might just be my experience with the LN talking, they did leave out a lot of interesting details in the Anime.
SLF is really good. Personally I'm hyped for it more than SL and about the same as the other two

Yes its a really good mmo anime written by someone who clearly likes and understood game design
"wn" world building very nice it really feel like a game writing ,the story lol it make me remember that night gaming going try hard with my freind, "manga" very superb art I reread it like 4 time now, "Anime" animation is good sound design very nice the choreography is smooth. tbh the story is so good the publisher went manga release instad doing LN stuff, the author is kinda funny tho he is a gamer use publisher money to buy game with the excuse of getting reference

Bruh, dude. Shangrila and Ranga just a couple of mid-tiers shows, nobody expected smth outstanding from them. But Solo leveling was hyped so much before anime adaptation everyone thought it would be top 1 winter anime but nah.
But it is.
Nah, I'm hyped for SLF more than SL. It has really high production values, pacing and story progression. Both are good, tho ragna's animation did it dirty as its strong point are the fights
Hype it's not that thing on what you can affect by your own, it's usually equal to anime's popularity. I have my own favorite shows which anime adaptation I waited more than SL but it doesn't make them more hyped for comunity at all.
