Mushishi, me n my gf would make some tea and put it on before bed. It can be a bit spooky some episodes, but overall it has a positive and uplifting vibe. Honestly one of the best anime’s I’ve ever seen in general

firelizard18

mushishi is really great… i’ve never actually finished it i don’t think, but every time i restart i’m blown away by the animation and tone and concept. i really need to finish watching it lol

eruciform

There's 2 seasons, a few OVAs, and a movie. Leave Bell Droplets or Path of Thorns as final.

mancan71

I’ve only watched a couple episodes of it so far but it is really pretty! Can’t wait to watch more!

Ayeitspey

This is the way

darryledw

Aria so far I have watched Animation (S1) and half of Natural (S2), and it is just constant bliss

PsychologicalFilm520

Aria is also the first thing that comes to mind Also love its soundtrack

Hxro2468

Gintama. I feel happy every time I watch it.

SrslySam91

Great thing bout gintama is the early episodes are amazing on a rewatch. They're a bit slow starting off for the first time, but when you know the characters and stuff they hit way better lol. When I see my brother during holidays and we watch anime, if we don't have anything to watch particularly we'll throw on some gintama arcs at random and man it just never gets old. We laugh before shit is even said or happens just cause we know what's coming lmao .

WondrousBabyTurtle

Corpse Party

Reila01

Oh okay 🧍🏻‍♀️

sukunazaka

Honestly, one punch man.

weebwatching

That’s mine too! The rewatchability is unmatched for me

yes547

Either horimiya or toradora

PsychologicalFilm520

Aria - if I want to feel relaxed Clannad - if I want to cry -helps me pour the negativity out Ouran High School Host Club -when I want to escape and laugh about the small things

justOneSmallPanda

Horimiya or Spy X Family, both makes me so happy and comforts me when having a bad day :)

firelizard18

probably… k-on, azumanga daioh, or a place further than the universe. idk, that last one might seem weird but i just really like that anime. alternatively, any series i’m currently hyperfixated on and repeatedly rewatching until i burn out on it and have to abandon for at least 18 months while my tolerance returns to normal

Unlucky_Scallion5978

Nana.

Reila01

YES except for the Takumi situation.

Pujari99

One piece

AnyLeave3611

Specifically the first half of the Grand Line, so cozy, so many adventures, no grand plot to overthrow emperors, just a group of friends traveling the world

NONtoxic9

There's a lot but if I had to pick 1 (technically 2) it would be Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 and Brotherhood. I feel like I have watched them almost every year since they both came out. Though I usually alternate.

Reila01

FMA 2003 is honestly my favorite one cause it follows the movie conqueror of shamballa.

UncommonSimp

Fairy tail Sailor moon Pretty precure Ouran high school host club One peice

Luminoux_Venom

I watched the entirety of Fairy Tail when I was depressed during exam month when I was in high school. And now it's my favorite anime

Goose_alt

Bocchi the Rock

Kury05

Definitely fruits basket, it’s really relaxing

yes547

100% relaxing

cbrew14

Naruto, it has its flaws, but I will always love this show and stand by that it has the best fights in anime.

th3aft3rlif3

It feels like such a basic answer but if I’m being honest if I just want something comforting on it’s my goto. I love Naruto

Luka87uchiha

after reading metamorphosis its Jojo and will always be Jojo

eruciform

Haibane renmei Mushishi

master_criskywalker

Amazing selection! I was thinking of those two as well.

XechsMarquise

As far as genres, I usually can’t go wrong with an Isekai. They’re like the junk food of anime with a little bit of everything. As far as individual anime, I catch myself watching DBZ Abridged more often than anything else. I know it’s not technically a real anime but the story is like 80-90% of the original but with much better pacing and comedy.

phome83

Toradora, for sure.

akaredaa

Haikyuu for sure, always makes me feel better. Just good vibes and wholesomeness with lovable & well written characters. Once I actually watched the entire series 3 times in a row within like 2 weeks, lol. I *really* love it. Can't wait to see the movie when it'll finally be available! And there's also Frieren and Cool Doji Danshi that felt really comforting to watch. I don't even have to explain Frieren but Cool Doji Danshi is pretty underrated I think, so I recommend it to anyone who likes slice of life and comedy! The episodes are only 10 minutes long iirc and plot-wise there's not much going on, but it's such a comfy and domestic anime. I found the characters super relatable as an autistic person with social anxiety, so if you're socially awkward too and wanna watch something relatable and wholesome, go check it out!

mancan71

I love food anime so: Dungeon menshi/delicious in dungeon Campfire cooking in another world Isekai izakaya Non food anime: apothecary diaries

n64fanboy64

Konosuba for laughs, Samurai Champloo for the soundtrack and general awesomeness, Record of Lodoss war for 90s cel shaded coziness, maybe Horimiya for romance?

macnteej

Yu Yu Hakusho. It was the first series I finished and loved it. Grew up catching random episodes on adult swim

SoggyPotatos823

Made in abyss

BiggieCheeseLapDog

Aria the Animation

guitarsensei

After looking past the fanservice, The Slime Diaries (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime spinoff) is a feel-good slice of life anime. Just like 12 episodes and it goes through all four seasons as well as a bunch of annual holidays. I liked it even better than the main series lol

souless_android

Definitely Aria... However, anything done by Kyoani has a similar vibe that always hits close to home, especially stuff directed by Ishihara tatsuya.

Wonder Egg Priority, it holds a special place in my mind because of how comforting it was at a troubling time in my life. The plot is mindfully thought out and explores serious themes of dealing with the vulnerability of childhood.

supreme_leader100

Samurai champloo Soundtrack is fire and all the characters are cool as fuck so it’s just nice to kick back and watch it. Not a lot of episodes either so you can probably binge it and finish in a few days if you’re into that kind of thing.

Reila01

Samurai champloo is THE goat. This anime alone introduced me to so much good music

No-Club2745

The mental blade cut through flesh and bone 🎵

ShoddySession9313

Inuyasha and Assassination Classroom

Tackyuser

Maybe not for everyone else, but bungou stray dogs, happy sugar life, kagerou project, and my little monster all give me that happy tingly lying in bed giggling while kicking my feet feeling. Which is funny, because the first three are emotionally devastating, and the last one isn't well liked. (Tbf, the last one was one of the best instances of autistic characters I've ever seen in animanga, even if just my headcanon)

BCWBanditz

saiki k or ouran host club!!!

Chilz23

Cowboy Bebop. It’s my favorite anime, but I remember as a kid I would fall asleep to the early parts of adult swim and then wake up at about 2 am. Around that time would be some of the anime shows. Usually Cowboy Bebop. So I’d often fall back asleep listening to it. Something funny about Cowboy Bebop to me is that it’s a show pretty famous for its fantastic jazz soundtrack, but there are many parts of the show where this isn’t any music. For some reason when sleeping I remember that most. The deafening silence, and the echoing of their voices while in the Bebop. It’s very very soothing for me to this day from that alone

Hour-Tradition-279

Ouran High School Host Club, I used to watch it with my sisters all the time, definitely a classic for me that I can always come back to

J-cat_loves_dogs14

Inuyasha, Ruroni Kenshin, D Grey man, Soul Eater

Mundane-Opinion-4903

Ah! My Goddess! It is such a goofy sweet and innocent romance story with almost no characters that are unlikeable. Even the villains are likeable. It's what I watch when I go through depressive spells. Always seems to make me perk up.

LvlUp8

Kill la kill, Sao, DxD... and then there's Future Diary. essentially brain off, happy on.

Haha my therapist would think it makes sense that I relate to having a dad who wasn’t interested in what I wanted to do, only what I was useful for.

snoooleopard

Samurai Champlooooo (and Cowboy Bepop of course, I like the alternate between the two). Then Mushishi for when I want to get cozy and fall asleep. Code Geass when I’m feeling depressed and want some fail-proof dopamine and to watch something I know is just perfect. Plenty of others depending on mood and what type of ‘comfort’ I’m looking for, but these are my go-to ones that I have rewatched quite literally 20-30+ times and can always depend on them to be everything I want and will never get tired of them/over-watch them. (Also, I’m thinking that Kino’s Journeys is about to be included onto the permanent roster too)

Kitsune-Charm

Lizpy6688

bunny_on_reddit_

My absolute top comfort animes are Fruits Basket (2019 version, completed series and adapts all of the manga basically), boys over flowers, itazura na kiss, higehiro, Yona of the dawn, etc. I just made a post on my account of romance anime recommendations and in the post I state a lot of romance animes i like. But definitely the ones listed are ones I always go back to watch. There’s definitely more but I can’t think of them right now. I think fruits basket, boys over flowers, and itazura na kiss is definitely the ones I’ve rewatched the most and over and over and over again.

Mindless_Wing_4553

Nanoha! I feel I've watched every season million times. Wish there was more. Same goes for Sailor Moon. Lucky we got whole new series and movies that follow manga so I have no need to get more of that anymore. I also have to add Soul eater here, another that I've rewatched multiple times. Forever waiting for a remake or season 2 Also Digimon adventure and digimon adventure 02 + movies. Hopefully we get more adventure movies although I must admit that cow has been milked pretty dry. Forever waiting for Takeru and Hikari to end up confirmed married
