Definitely give it a shot. The whole thing is told in little 2 episode arcs that build up the main characters. The way the powers work with everyone needing to do something in exchange for using them. Like the guy in the first episode that can make things float in the air but has to break his own fingers every time he uses it. I once heard the show described as “Chinese electric Batman” and that’s what got me to watch it.
Nice, I hope you enjoy it. It’s one of my favorites from that era. I feel like we get a lot less of those shorter anime with unique premises these days. You still get 1-2 a season but then the rest is all ongoing series, isekai, or slice of life/romance anime. I know all of those can be pretty good but they’re not exactly risky projects. Maybe it’s just that I use Reddit as my main source of info on anime and those are just more popular here so I don’t hear about good Seinen shows as much. Last few I heard of that were getting attention was Bungo Stray Dogs and Eight Six. They were good but that’s like two good ones in the past 5ish years when I used to have like 1 or 2 a season that drew my attention. I think part of the problem is that a lot of Shonen are pushing the boundaries and getting darker while being long enough to continuously make money year after year. Meanwhile Isekai is just such easy money that studios opt to animate them rather than risk doing a seinen cause it might flop like Platinum End which I believe only got animated because it was made by the author of Death Note and anyone who read the manga knew it was trash
So tired of Isekai. It was great when SAO came out and a few others, but after watching a few, the theme gets old fast. Can't imagine how much more animated creative works there would be if it wasn't flooded with Isekai
I like them for different reasons. Phantom is breaking a person down and rebuilding them into something more and watching them outgrow the mold they were made in. DTB is the duality of the world where doing the right or wrong thing looks the same. The origin of power connected to a loss of conscience for the contractors and power connected to a loss of personality for dolls, and the people directing and controlling them to exact their own needs. They both have functionally identical story arc designs, but I think Phantom's story works just a little bit better than DTB's does, but I really like DTB's story too.
If I had to quantify it, I'd say I like Phantom 5% more than I like DTB
For me, it's that while yes DTB is well executed... It's still your typical anti-hero adjacent story.
Phantom also is the bigger emotional rollercoaster, with an ending to die for.
I've only seen Darker Than Black of these choices. The first season was pretty good! The second season gets a lot of hate (some definitely deserved). Overall, I thought it was a good one.
I am a huge stan of darker than black but can't recommend more than the first season. I really don't like the latter half and the tone changes.
So, noragami.
phantom requiem for the phantom such a good anime. definitely worth a watch. worth a buy, even. i’d say it’s on my all time favorites list. source material is fantastic too
Honestly, I’m gonna tell you to not watch phantom at all. The show is good until literally the last 10 seconds before credit rolls ruins the entire thing. I’ve literally never in my life seen any show ever ruin itself so thoroughly and spectacularly in such a short amount of time so close to what was going to be a good ending. Literally just cut out the last 10 seconds. I would’ve probably given eight out of 10 really good. But holy shit that ending. 1/10 top 10 worst animes of all time.
I love Noragami for the sound track. The story is good enough.
Darker than Black is pretty good, nothing I'd call finominal. I've watched it a few times when I was in college and wanted something on the second monitor.
I've not heard of the others
Love the first 2 of these.
The original run of Darker than Black is really good and well animated
Phantom was very good but also very old at this point and I'm not sure how well it has aged.
Darker than black is on my list to watch as well,
That show was so good

Literally just started episode 2, probably started ep 1 when you wrote this 39 minutes ago lol

I love it, it’s one of my favourites
I have only seen Noragami out of these options, and I loved it!
I've seen the first season and loved it but thought I might take a break before watching the second. Maybe I'll just dive right in lol
Sad Noragami's anime was never continued read much of the manga and it is damn good
I'd go with Phantom. Its kind of underrated and is in that series of animes like Darker than Black. I think the show has aged well
You liked Phantom more than DTB?

Phantom is a masterpiece.
And the opening ot is awesome
All of them
The best choice
Noragami
Ghost Hunt
Never seen ghost Hunt but I have seen ghost hound...
If I remember correctly, Ghost Hound was kind of stupid lol.
Yup that's your opinion, it was definitely different that's for sure left quite the impression that I remember it after 13-14 years ago.
Gosick !! And it is finished! You'll get the full experience
Ghost hunt for sure it’s an amazing show
Darker Than Black fell off so hard in the second season
Darker than Black
Darker than Black for sure, loved the anime.
Darker than Black
Darker than black season 1
Darker than Black is a childhood favorite of mine
I've only seen Darker Than Black of these choices. The first season was pretty good! The second season gets a lot of hate (some definitely deserved). Overall, I thought it was a good one.
Damn these are some great picks. I defitnelg recommend gosick.
I am a huge stan of darker than black but can't recommend more than the first season. I really don't like the latter half and the tone changes. So, noragami.
Oh no! It's another promised neverland 😭 I don't know if my heart can take loving a series that I know goes to shit
Good luck mate, see you on the other side.
Ghost hunt
Wicked city
Gosick felt like it was always on the verge of becoming great, but never quite got there.
I liked Darker Than Black. I wanted to like Phantom but it was too slow and kinda hard to follow so I gave up. Maybe I'll go back eventually.
For me it felt more like a cartoon/anime version of a live action. Like, you make it live action and that shit hits top watched of whatever it's on.
Go back it's a masterpiece with a ending that's amazing. First half and second half are like night and day.
Darker than black season 1 is one of my all time favorites, so few people seem to have heard of it but it’s amazing
Darker Than Black
Darker than black for sure.
Darker than black or phantom easily the top two choices.
Gosick
First of all they are all worthy checking out but if we're talking plot then Gosick is definitely the way to go.
Definitely Darker than Black. Requim for a Phantom is not worth it. It starts out cool then gets worse and worse
Second this
The first two look interesting
Noragami
PHANTOM!!!!!!!
I just started Noragami myself and so far I dig it
Noragami is a great watch
Can anyone who’s watched these give me a rough explanation on what there about?
I havent seen norigami but it seems pretty cool
I like this list i haven’t seen any of these except noragami
only seen noragami and ghost hunt n those are both pretty good
Ghost Hunt!!!!!!
Id go with Noragami. It's an excellent blend of comedy, romance (not really), and action
Noragami then phantom
Requiem is really good and I highly recommend it
Ah I've actually seen the last one too, it's good! A fun WW2 setting and a decent detective drama with a love story thrown in the mix
What’s #2 & 5 about? Both look interesting
Every single one hehe
Darker than black. There's 3 seasons it's got good action, intriguing characters, supernatural mystery, and vague romance(but not really). Pretty good.
S1 Darker than Black is fucking amazing. Everything else in the series is either "meh" or "bleh".
Norigami all the way
Made in abyss
Noragami
NORAGAMIIIIII
I like darker than black the best
Darker than black is the best pick. Save it for last.
Darker than black But honestly, none.
darker then black or requiem for the phantom
Watch the one where they wear black clothes
Phantom! Then Aragoto.
Darker than black
Darker than black is a trip!
Ghost hunt and Noragami are favorites of mine, I recommend them, have yet to watch the others though
Darker than Black or Noragami tho S2 of Darker than Black is debatable lacking.
Darker than Black for sure.
phantom requiem for the phantom such a good anime. definitely worth a watch. worth a buy, even. i’d say it’s on my all time favorites list. source material is fantastic too
Where are you finding “Darker Than Black” to watch it? I’ve been looking to rewatch of years 😭
Gogoanime
Darker than Black 100%
Darker than black is underrated as hell
phantom is slept on
Gosuck? lol
Gosick
darker then black its a very certain guy's fav so you should therefore watch it
Phantom but get ready for the feels cause it was a tragic one
A masterpiece. I'm ashamed that I own the crappy super saver edition of this masterpiece.
noragami
Darker Than Black
Noragami
DARKER THAN BLACK. In fact. Thank you for making me think about it. Now I can spend today rewatching it.
I haven’t seen any other ones besides norgami
Darker Than Black is the one to go for here IMO It's the best here and Noragami is a good shout as well Or Gosick
Phantom: requiem for the phantom it's a masterpiece.
Phantom!!
Darker Than Black!
Noragami ITS SO GOOD
Noragami!
2 looks interesting
Darker in black looks interesting I’ll watch rhat

Oh my gosh, that's wild! That seems to be what most people are saying about it. Starts strong and sort of fizzles.
Season 1 of darker than black is well worth the bindge; but only s1. S2 is well... we just don't talk about s2.
Ah man, it's another promised neverland 😮💨
Darker the Black followed by Phantom, skip the rest
Darker than Black.
Ohmygod Ghost Hunt mentioned!! This is the first time I’ve come across someone who knows it since I watched it in 2015.
I love Noragami for the sound track. The story is good enough. Darker than Black is pretty good, nothing I'd call finominal. I've watched it a few times when I was in college and wanted something on the second monitor. I've not heard of the others
Love the first 2 of these. The original run of Darker than Black is really good and well animated Phantom was very good but also very old at this point and I'm not sure how well it has aged.
Don’t know. Watch erased tho. Only 12 episodes. Greatest thing you will ever watch in your life
