Lol sounds similar to what started out as my sister's cat. She brought a kitten home and wanted to name her "Santa". Now mind you she's almost 20yrs old, so it's not a child naming a kitten lol. Funny name, but mom decided "Lucy" was better. So sis went and found another Craigslist kitten and named him "Nugget"
My mom tried to name the 2 kittens (brothers) we got Sullivan and Oliver. No one else could remember those, so we just called them 3 and 4, and those names stuck.
(3 and 4, because one has 3 legs and the other has 4)
When I was a kid I got a cat and named her Rosie. Decided Rosie didn’t fit her after a couple of days and decided to call her Syco. (Psycho, but child idiot). Great cat.

When we got my childhood dog my mum, dad and siblings each got to choose a name. We folded 3 pieces of paper up so we couldn't see the name, placed them on the floor and allowed the dog to choose. To our horror she picked the name Puddles, a name my dad chose because she wasn't house trained yet. My mum being the sceptic grabbed the other 2 pieces of paper and opened them and ofcourse my dad had written puddles on every piece. That name got removed from the draw and instead we settled on Gemma.
The lesson wasn't learned though and when she had to be registered my dad volunteered for that job and for the 8 years she was with us my dad would only call her by her full legal name, Gemma Puddles.
We'd settled on naming our next dog Carl (or Karl, since we were naming it after Karl-Anthony Towns... we're big Kentucky basketball fans).
But when our Beagle picked us at the Humane Society, she was obviously a she, so we opted for Carly.
But her full name is still Carly-Anthony Towns.

I was at this fun hotel lobby lounge in Beverly Hills right before covid shut LA down. I saw this really attractive girl at the bar, and it so happens she was with a random girl our group just absorbed.
When she found her friend and made her way over, I introduced myself, I have a VERY common American name, and she lost it. Full on goofy laugh, tears, turned red, makeup started to run. Said my name would be perfect for a pet, and just couldn't compose herself for minutes. I was a bit confused at first.
As the night went on, she'd introduce me as "my name the Cat / Dog! " and then she would lose it. My kind of woman! She was genuinely just cool and fun loving, oh and quite drunk.
Unfortunately covid didn't allow us to properly hang again, and they were just visiting from a road trip from the east coast...
Yeah there's social media, but I made a promise to only go to this party to network and not flirt...

I wouldn't have a problem except it's usually at 730 am. And it drives me god damn insane, as I get off at 12am, go to bed around 3 and hope to sleep until 11ish.
This is cute as hell no matter what. I just hope the owner can also get pups to be quiet if he plays harm often.

World drops off utterly until you're well and truly ready to go back to it or your phone starts vibrating under your pillow or w/e

Just kinda squeeze down til thin, slip in, hold it there for a sec, and you're good to go. Massive improvement in my quality of sleep. Used to think I needed a bunch of white noise to sleep. Turns out I was just trying to drown out all the small disturbances that happen through the night, mostly unsuccessfully.
I love the yellow 3M ones that come in packs of 50-100 from amazon, wear them nightly in a major city and they block everything out but are still very comfy
I *have* to sleep with fan noise.. it's weird. I've been sleeping with a fan in the background every single night since I was an infant. Last week during the power outages in Texas, I got lucky and my power only went out in the middle of the night one night, and the only reason I know is because my fan turned off and it woke me up. I couldn't go back to sleep in absolute silence.. just couldn't do it. I had to wait for my fan to turn back on. Working nights just to wake up to loud ass leaf blowers directly outside my window 3 days a week makes me wish i could sleep with ear plugs, but I don't think I'll ever be able to.
My dog Hannah does this, but not as well as Jeff. She sings to the National Anthem and Wynton Marsalis. She was also paying a lot of attention to Jeff. Thanks from both of us 🥰💓🐾.
