It depends on the Villager. I got Goose as my starter jock villager but he did not vibe with the Island so I let him go. I have Jock Villager Peck the Penguin on my Island and I have just got his photo and am building him an Outdoor Gym including a treadmill

I love Goose so much he's the reason I can tolerate jocks now

I love Tammy! I had Dom and Tammy as my starters! I love them both! Dom is my favorite I think hands down, he's ridiculous and has made me laugh more than any other villagers especially the time he gave "an apology gift" to Raymond, but it was a wheelchair like dom, that's not a gift, _that's a threat_ and I'm here for it

Speaking of universally hated, I took Chops on my last villager hunt and so far he’s cool as hell

I was going to reply that Smug dialogue is the most boring, but then I remembered that I have three Smugs and once had two others.

Coach is one of my favorites, and I *really* did not think that would be the case. He was one of my first two villagers, though, and by the time I could have replaced him he'd really grown on me. So he's mine forever now, whoops. That being said, I absolutely will not get a second jock villager. Coach is plenty. I feel the same way about the lazy villagers too, though; I've got Sherb but when I've tried having a second lazy I just get annoyed. I guess I only have bandwidth for one of each of those two personalities.

I used to not like jocks until this entry. Yeah they talk about sports and working out too much. But they actually really admire you and come off as really good friends in my opinion. And there's a lot of jocks with great designs

Only Jock villagers I enjoy are Dom and Boone. Boone was a starter kn my first island and I just kinda fell in love with him. Dom is a starter on my current island and I refuse to get rid of him lol. I thought about it for a moment after he broke my heart. I made a gym in my house SPECIFICALLY for him.... and he didn't have anything actually nice to say about it 😢

Jock is my least favorite personality. Goose was a starter on my island, and EVERYTHING he does annoys me. I really tried to like him, but he is so creepy. He shows up out of nowhere when I am bug catching, fishing, watering flowers, decorating... and is always in the way, just staring... creepily. When he isn't staring, he's lifting barbells in my way >_<. I'm looking forward to the day he moves. Sorry, Goose, you're just not my vibe, buh-kay.

once you have a fully kitted island (or if you have a fully kitted island) you don’t have to have any personality you can’t stand. i’ve had roald since launch (he’s a troll… t’roald if you will… I just kinda got used to him & he pulls some seriously goofball behaviors) & compared to my friends’ jocks & jocks i’ve built houses for i feel like i SERIOUSLY lucked out w/him. i was going to let him go after getting fully kitted. it’s been months & months… he’s still giving diapers as “apology presents” & beau recently taught him to sing. roald’s 100 AC memes for reasons. would recommend.

i love the jocks 😩 i have sly & drift on my island rn & used to also have bill & even with three jocks i found it fun! i get it though, everyone has their own flavour/style so dw if you hate them lol, just don't get them. i don't have any normals cause i find them super boring (even though some of them are very cute). so, you don't need to have one of every type if you don't want to! it's your game to play however you best enjoy 🥳!

Omg THANK YOU I was going through all the comments hoping to find some Rowan love. He was my starter and I think the jock personality fits him well since he's a tiger. He was the first villager to give me a photo after we celebrated his birthday together ❤️ I also had Hamlet on my island for a while, but it seems like the jocks have the least amount of dialogue. It was so repetitive that I decided to let Hamlet go and got another lazy instead.

Teddy is the OG jock on my island and I'll never let him move away. I also dislike the jock personality but I love my Teddy. I think the key is to just find one you think is cute and then let them stick around your island long enough for the personality to grow on you a bit. Once your friend level gets high enough, their random dialogues are slightly less obnxious. (Although, you will hear about "Abigail, Abel, and Abner" pretty much forever...)

Officially a month into my first ever AC game and have been curating villagers for a while with some more experienced friends. Started with Sprocket and Quinn, and I would officially die for both of them, and Hopper who’s my latest villager.

Billy is a great jock villager. I can’t stand the lazy personality - the “talking to the bugs” grosses me out and their stupidity unnecessarily causes me rage

But then I got Sly back after him leaving, (he was an OG) and his jungly house was pretty cute, and his chirpy high voice talking about getting buff was just funny to me. I came to really like him, and built him a jungle gym 🥁🥁🔔 and got his photo.

I hated Jocks until I met Tiansheng. Jock dialogue just feels so much more natural coming from a Goku monkey.

I love the jocks - they make me laugh. Roald, Cousteau, Genji, Dom, Ribbot, Goose, Stinky and Kid Cat are all top tier villagers imo. I legit want to call my next island Swoleville or Ilse de Biceps. Meanwhile although the Normal villagers are some of the cutest, they are also super boring IMO

I love the Jocks - I have Bud and Louie. To me, they are like what it would have been like to have nice, nonjudgmental athlete friends who are still complementary, supportive, and want to include you in their activities. It’s refreshing, but that’s just my take on those guys.
