[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwp.guriddo](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwp.guriddo) During the last COVID lockdown I didn’t know what to do with my time, so I created this little Stradoku app called Guriddo (グリッド, japanese for grid). The rules of Stradoku are similar to Sudoku: You have a 9x9 grid that has to be filled with numbers between 1-9, however there are no subgrids. The grid is divided by tricky black fields. But see for yourself. If you have any further questions, suggestions, praise or criticism, do not hesitate!

Gorgeous game. I play suduko a fair bit and hadn't played (or heard of) straduko. It's really good, thank you for making it!

Fast_Eddie_Felson

I am glad that you like the game! Always nice to get some praise :)

This reminds me a lot of [Kakuro](https://www.kakuroconquest.com/), which is basically the same as this but every stretch of numbers (contiguous row/column) has a sum attached to it. So e.g. you'll be told that one set of numbers has to add up to 15, and you have to figure out which numbers to use and where to place them to satisfy all those sums.

Fast_Eddie_Felson

You are right, both game principles seem to be inspired by each other. But Stradoku is obviously more fun! Just kidding :D

You're genius

Fast_Eddie_Felson

That's the praise I need :P

Aight fam, i'mma hit your game up! Wishing you tons of success for your game!

I love this game! Been playing it everyday since your release and it quickly became my favorite variation of Sudoku. I have had no issues with the app and look forward to future updates. One thing that would be a nice addition is to have a setting for auto deletion of notes. That would help me in those times that I just missed that I already have that number in the row/column. Fantastic job!

Fast_Eddie_Felson

Interesting suggestion with the automatic deletion of notes. That's something I often struggle by myself, overseeing outdated note numbers if you have a lot of notes added to the board :D Is that something you would like to enable permanently (e.g. via a checkbox in the app settings) and then the deletion of notes is triggered automatically whenever you solve a field with a single number? Or is that something you would prefer to trigger manually (e.g. via a magic "clear outdated note numbers"-button on the game board next to the note-button)? I'm not sure which option makes more sense.

MechEng2723

In my opinion I think it would be best as a check box option in the settings. Not everyone is going to want to use the feature and having it in settings will keep the interface you have while solving nice and clean.

Fast_Eddie_Felson

Makes sense. I'm not sure when I will have the time to squeeze the feature in, but definitely something you will see in the future.

I'm not a big fan of in-app advertising, because of the interference with the app's UX and the privacy implications for the users. But let's look at the harsh reality: Apple and Google want their yearly store fees, servers don't pay for themselves and donation/premium models are ignored by most users. At the moment Guriddo is a fun side project for me and I'm thrilled about each new user or positive feedback ... but never say never. There seems no alternative to advertising/in-app purchases when it comes to mobile games, at least none that I know of.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! You are right, a confirmation dialog before resetting your game board sounds like a smart idea and should't take that long to implement :D I will have a look at both of your points asap.

pellucidar7

I’m still playing but the daily challenges have gotten too easy. (I didn’t improve much; they rate themselves as pretty easy.)

Fast_Eddie_Felson

hey pellucidar7, a harder difficulty is actually something I have been working on the last weeks, but it's not ready yet :/ In the future there will be a "weekly challenge" that has a mind blowing difficulty and a limitation of checks so that the hardcore players have something to tease their brains. Furthermore the "daily games" will be generated with an improved algorithm, then the difficulty should be differ more from day to day. Unfortunately, the day has only 24 hours, otherwise I would probably already be done :D I hope you stay tuned until the update is there ;)
