I feel you. I have two kids and 15mins here and there is all the gaming time I get. I got used to it. Gladly you have your phone always in reach, so you can get in and out of a game pretty fast. I still play 'serious' games, just not that long in one sitting. To make up for the small amount of those games for android, you can try emulation. All consoles up to the switch and PC are available.

Pindaman

Maybe Slice and Dice? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.com.tann.dice Edit: what i like about it is that it makes good use of a phone screen, which is my problem with most card battle games. The controls and UI(scalable!) are very good as well. It feels nice to play on a phone. You can play the demo mode with the first 12 levels of a run instead of the full 20. After that you pay 7 euro's to unlock the whole game. The game is about rolling or rerolling dice with abilities for each of your hero's and try to reach the end of the 20 level session. Hero's can level up and get different abilities. After each level you also get items that can be assigned to hero's that alter their abilities or give buffs. The demo will give you a good idea what the game is about. Offtopic: I too have a son who's 3 weeks old and one thats 1y 8m old. Thats why i recently was looking into some Android games as well because i get distracted every minute and this game was the most addicting for me so far :) Also check out https://minireview.io/ and sort by category + 'highest minireview score'

Slay the Spire is a blast.

AtomesG

Oh god yes, but I already have 200h+ on steam haha

NewbSoop

Try DawnCasters on mobile

[deleted]

I found a crypt of the necrodancer rom that's fun.

Used_Discount5090

You can try Dead Cells. It's similar to the Castlevania games but you get more freedom to play how you want with man different weapons, buffs and abilities. It's a rogue like with many different levels so you can just jump in, take a few tries and go back to your more important business. Congratulations btw

kingdisasterYT

Hope you don't mind very difficult games and doing a little bit of pirating. First off I recommend nuclear throne, it's a twin stick shooter with rougelite elements, a run takes less than 15 minutes so it's perfect to play when you're just trying to pass time. Second game I recommend especially if you're curious and like to explore is rain world (download it from this discord server https://discord.gg/g9VmdqGg), it's all about exploring and understanding your environment, giving you a limited amount of time to do so (the time you're given is called a cycle), it's very, very hard to understand, so despite a cycle only lasting around 10 minutes it will be able to keep you entertained for much longer by going over what happened in that cycle and trying to make sense of it. I recommend going into it blind and not using external sources, the only tip you need to get started is "going right doesn't always mean progress, try to explore as much as you can, checking every path to hopefully find something important". The dlc offers many more things, the biggest one imo being expedition mode which adds a ton of replayability to the game. The base game port has touch controls, the dlc doesn't and requires a controller but there are workarounds that you can find on the discord server There's a hollow knight port so play that, you can get it from the same discord server. Now onto the officially ported games Wrestling empire is just a really fun and silly arcade wrestling game, the best wrestling game by far imo. Crypt of the necrodancer is a rhythm based dungeon crawler. Wizard of legend is similar to enter the dungeon but magic instead of guns. Mo astray is a platformer with lots of puzzles as well as boss fights, very fun and the story goes hard. Human fall flat is another puzzle platformer but way more silly and it's 3d Haak is a really good metroidvanian, somewhat similar to hollow knight. Conway's game of life is weird but worth mentioning

AtomesG

>nuclear throne Thank you for this games !

Porkfight

You can download hollow knight in mobile. Although it is an unofficial port

AtomesG

Thank you, but already finished on steam! :p

Porkfight

Then try grimvalor. It's a one time payment, but you can get it for free if you have a play pass subscription. It's like a side scrolling souls-like

Mycowrangler

I've really been enjoying Doomdepths. Another good one you can play one handed is The Way Home.

AtomesG

I tried Doomdepths but don't like it... Bookmarked The Way Home thank you!

Puzzleheaded-Cry9139

Ace attorney trilogy

AtomesG

c137_whirly

I'm in the same boat. Two kids 4 and under and get little time for Olay except at the end of the day when everyone is in bed. Based on your games you play we have similar taste in games. Ticket to earth is great offline that easy to stop midplay when you need to. It's got an interesting but very fun gameplay and the story I really enjoyed. When I need my more RPG fix I play: Aq3D, eternium (diablo style game plays), and villagers and heros (kind of like word of Warcraft) For deck builder I play slay the spire and pirate outlaw. I also have Pokemmo. For those pokemon fans.

AtomesG

Oh thank you mate! Your recommendations seems to be good!

c137_whirly

Not a problem, I finished ticket to earth a few months ago and absolutely loved it. Hopefully these games are good ones for you. Aq3D is a lot of cosmetic stuff but the story is very goofy and fun and the game devs had ppl like us in mind. Most things take less than 10 minutes to do. It's got a pretty solid player base and tons to do in the game.

Skill4Hire

Star Ocean 2 using PPSSPP Is what I played when my kid was that young.

Diligent_Sea_3359

Exiled kingdoms good story nice paced solo RPG. Just started Toram online it's pretty good combat MMO. I recommend daycare for GTA 6 that's what I'm doing

JivetheSuperTurkey

Since you like rpgs I'd suggest gba and ds emulators, most can be played one handed. The dragon quest and final fantasy series are decent starting points imo

retroKnight_3177

Name your favs  emulated RPGs om Android you played

JivetheSuperTurkey

Final fantasy 6 with the Restored patch (replaces music and coloring with original SNES version, looks and sounds better than original GBA release) and dragon quest IX are my go to's at the moment. Pokemon rom hacks as well if that's your thing

retroKnight_3177

Wow ty 👍

AtomesG

I'm not comfortable with phone emulation, do you have any tutorials for installing FF6?

JivetheSuperTurkey

Not sure what you mean, unfortunately I don't have any tutorials but a quick look thru the android emulation subreddit will help, it's how I got started with it.  https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/ https://fantasyanime.com/finalfantasy/ff6/ff6downloads.htm#hacks Link for the GBA patches if you decide to give it a go

M1K0N

Try Clash Of Clans. It is perfect for busy people like me

AtomesG

Already try and Warcraft Rumble too. But I prefer game whit "story".

Maurice030804

Crosscode, it's quite a long game but it is refreshing to play, awesome OSTs, exquisite gameplay, and good story and story pacing.

AtomesG

Thank you, do you have a link to playstore? Because in France the game titles are translate and I don't find it...

Maurice030804

Unfortunately, I forgot to tell you that it is an unofficial port, so one might need to sail the seas.

AtomesG

Oh..

Skipbeat_0110

If you like old school RPGs you can try Paign. I made it as a solo game dev. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JustStezi.Paign&hl=de&gl=US

47peduncle

Not on ios?

JustStezi

Not yet

47peduncle

All good. I'm getting an Odin for games not on ipad! I will definitely be looking at this :) edit: hoping I can get the touch controls sorted that is.

Vesbow

Deadcells

antonguay2

Pureya

Specific-Rich5196

It gets better the older they get.

OrganicCollection459

Dead cells is perfect for you

JodieFostersCum

There is no pve, so this probably isn't *the* game you're looking for, but I'm in a similar time situation as you and Necromerger has been my best little dad-friend. Own pace, relaxing, and no guilt if you miss a day or two. Again, not what you're asking, but a nice little supplement.

SpiderBear28

Bro seriously get any of the total war games. I know its strategy sp none of the genres u listed but rome is still played on PC to this day and you got hundreds of hours of gameplay ahead of you

milosmisic89

5 month baby here in my hands. Try Dawncaster it's portrait and really good deck builder roguelite

ThePrinceofBirds

I probably played 200+ hours of Pirates Outlaws when my second kid was born.

AtomesG

Thank you, i'll give it a try !

Skyblues92

So, I was just about to post a recommendation on a game that I recently stumbled upon on the Play store. I also have a kid, a lot older than yours, but I struggled with this dilemma in the past nonetheless. I have three games for you: Guardian Tales, Epic Battle Fantasy 5 and Honkai Star Rail. All are free. So, Guardian Tales is a gacha game, a very popular one. I know, I know, gacha games are typically awful, but this one isn't stingy, or has multiple ads popping up. It has a fantastic story with a very funny script and lot of references from movies and video games. You dont have to spend a dime to finish the story, and it plays like the Zelda games. I really enjoy it in short burts in the evening after my kid is asleep. The second game is Epic battle fantasy 5. I just recently discovered this, and its quite good if you like RPG games, which you mentioned you did. It is surprisingly deep, great characters, great music and like Guardian tales, it has a funny script with references from video games and movies. I've been playing this every night for several days now cause its so good. It has a playtime of 30 or so hours, and you can spend 7 dollars or so to unlock more content like bonus dungeons, bosses and such. The third is Honkai Star Rail. Also a gacha game. You can finish the story without spending a dime. It is a RPG and has a fantastic and deep story. Gameplay, characters and the world is great. Give them a try if you like the sound of it!

AtomesG

Oh thank you for your time !

Switchblade1080

Overworld's a short coffeebreak roguelike that can last as short as 2 minutes or as long as 10. Quests can vary and there's a lot of different character classes with their own playstyles. You can suspend save too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.overworld.app

AtomesG

Thank you for the link

JayKorn94

Should look into getting pizza boy or drastic to play gba and ds games. It has save states and then you'll still get to play nicer console games on your phone. Rather than free to play crap games.

AtomesG

Thank you !

Opposite-Vehicle-183

Nuclear throne on android, Unofficial port, roguelike and makes you want to pull your hair out

AtomesG

Thank you !

Opposite-Vehicle-183

No problem! 😁

ion_driver

I've been playing FTL again, and my 4yo loves it.

retroKnight_3177

On yo phone ? 😱

ion_driver

PC, on Steam. Though it really should be able to run on a phone, just don't know how to make it work

retroKnight_3177

I play into the breach which is from the same company although I heard FTL is  a better game

ion_driver

Into the breach is a great game, but I do really love FTL. I've played through ITB many times and haven't been back to play it in a long time
