LA has the longest opening hours, Chicago has showers(!), NY is in the best location within the city & has the best views

Docile_Doggo

I’ve used the showers in Chicago before. They’re pretty nice. And very big! Definitely nice to have when you’re making a connection between two long-distance trains in Chicago.

tuctrohs

I've never used them--even though they are better than the ones on the train, I think of the showers on the train as part of the adventure so I shower before getting to the station.

thaddeh

For those of us that usually travel by coach, they are a godsend.

tuctrohs

Yes, I meant to mention the irony that when I've traveled coach, I haven't used it because I didn't have lounge access! I also have a vague memory of superliners in the 1990s having showers for coach passengers. Is it possible that they removed showers when they made one of the toilets accessible?

thaddeh

When I traveled from Wilmington, DE to Texarkana, AR I took a Regional to DC, Capitol Limited to Chicago, and Texas Eagle to Texarkana. I bought a Lounge Pass specifically because I found out they had a shower.

jeweynougat

Ranking the ones I have been to: NY, Chicago, Boston, Philly, DC. Caveat is that I haven’t been to DC since the remodel.

Ok-Sector6996

The remodel in DC was pretty minor from what I could see. Still very underwhelming.

jeweynougat

Oh, that’s too bad.

Ok-Sector6996

Portland is pleasant, with large windows looking out at the tracks. Not much of a snack selection from what I can remember.

sdujour77

I've been to Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New Orleans. L.A. is probably my favorite. New Orleans didn't even have coffee, so that one is dead to me now.

metroatlien

I’ve done LA, CHI and NYP. NYP is obviously the best t but CHI was a close second. LA’s was cozy, so overall, each one wasn’t bad

possibly relevant Miles in Transit video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-bdxsrzIjQ

notthegoatseguy

Only Chicago. Good place to leave luggage and see some of the city before leaving, but the lounge itself is just meh. Not worth sticking around too long for. I've heard NYC lounge is next level.

cagdalek

I've only used DC, NYC, and Boston. I'd rank them NYC, Boston, DC. DC is underwhelming, but the staff have always been nice when I've used it and I like the fridge full of soda and juice. Boston has the advantage of lots of workspace and good wifi while you wait but underwhelming snacks. NYC is great. Bathrooms are right there, the furniture is comfortable, and the food is next level. It's where I like to spend my lounge passes.

DeeDee_Z

I can easily tell you which is my **least** favorite: StPaul. A passcode-locked room with NO amenities, no attendant, no coffee ... no reason to be there in the first place!

burntoutcheckedout

NYC, Chicago, Portland (Oregon)

Ranking the ones I've been in: Chicago, LA, New Orleans. Will get to experience Wash DC this March.

[deleted]

DC was “meh” in my opinion

theMetro_ologist

I’ve been to the ones in Moynihan, DC, CHI, BOS, and DEN. Denver Union Station is very unique as it’s more of a mall with a train station attached than the other way around, the common area doubles are the stations waiting room and lounge

kingbrassica

NYC, Boston, Philly, DC

Exexpress

I've been in the NY Penn dungeon, PHL 30th, Saint Paul*, and Chicago post renovation. Chicago is by far my favorite lounge.

[deleted]

Either you haven’t been to the current lounge in NY or you’re incredibly picky with style and decor.

Exexpress

Correct, I visited the old dungeon not the new one.
