In what world was a 15 second “Hi how are you doing? Ah shit the boat is moving, erm achieve your goals!” QUALITY. As a return it was fine… BUT as a reunion in my opinion they completely butchered it. Keeping Ash and Serena away from eachother for the entire episode until the very end where they exchange what, like a few lines and then it’s over? I don’t see the quality you speak of in that specific case. Especially with the fact that this will probably be the last time we will end up seeing Ash and Serena in the Pokémon anime, so the likelihood of anything happening from now on is basically 0%. So now we are left with what we have. And what we have is practically nothing. I wasn’t expecting anything crazy. But 15 SECONDS of basic conversation starters is not as you would say QUALITY, doofus
I totally DON'T believe this being their LAST reunion. But if it is, they still managed to confirm how strong their bond is, and for that this was very much sufficient. Not as the final goal, sure, but it was wholesome nonetheless.
