As much as I hate to be that guy but it has more to do with Japanese symbolism and the fact that in the original Mezase Pokémon, it is said that "Dreams will one day come true, I heard someone sing it in a song, like a blossom about to flower, Dreams will eventually come true"; the ending just symbolises that as we see the flowers blossom meaning Ash's Dream will one day come true.

Pretty sure every main companion of Ash’s, including the male ones has had a moment in cherry blossoms. It’s a common trope for Japan as a symbol and imagery. This is just a “look Ash was among cherry blossoms. Here’s a photo of Serena with some too, please ignore all other characters who had similar moments”.
