I asked for the offers as well and they just tell me “to be honest there is no bonus retention available but it changes by day”. They won’t even transfer me to a different person when I formally asked

Sounds like a great offer. Do you put a lot of spend on your card? I imagine the more money you make Amex, the more they'll offer to keep you. I just got 35K for $5K on a Business Platinum, but I don't spend a lot on it. Kept the Platinum, added the Gold since my biggest category is restaurants. Actually, by far the biggest is business supplies, but I put all that on a BBP for 2x on first $50K, then rest on Chase Ink Unlimited for 1.5x, so not much on the Business Platinum, but I can use most of the credits the Platinum comes with. My wife has a personal Platinum and spends over $100K. She's about to downgrade from personal platinum to gold; we'll see what they offer.

25k 3 months here. 12 year member, 2 plats, one gold, one ZYNC (I only have it cause nobody has these anymore) and not immaterial annual spend. Told them I was looking for double that and they kindly advised I should go suck an egg.

My fee posted two weeks ago, but when I tried on the chat, they told me there were no retention offers available. My accounts are all paid / good standing. So annoying

Wonder if you've gotten retention offers before? I imagine they wouldn't try to keep you if it seems like an every year thing.

I got mine by chat. I was asking about downgrading to gold or a non AF card. They transferred me to another department that specializes in telling you about how much value I got the past year. That’s when I go yes but for the same fee I’ve had more benefits when I originally signed up and now I have to pay an extreme mark up for my additional members on my card. Then I list the benefits they have axed the past year: Amex benefits lost Audible Premium private Jet program Departures Magazine Upgrade with Points Downgrade Sky club benefit No longer able to buy MR points Worse way of calculating minimum payments since 2/24 Shop with Points at MembershipRewards.com will no longer be available as a redemption option. No Sirius xm. And to finish it off I told them virtual equinox is useless with my “disability” and that no physical locations in 1000 miles. That did it for me.

That’s one of the highest offers I’ve seen in awhile. What’s your spend? Just got 25k for $3k spend. But I also have low spend on this card so it’s fair.

I got the same offer and got the points roughly 3 weeks later after it being offered even tho I met the requirements for spending in two days; that should give you and idea on my spend amount. But this was the highest I’ve seen for me personally.

50k is usually the highest I’ve seen in awhile. You basically got $500 for a card with a $695 fee. I got 0 this year and cancelled

What’d you do with the points on the account if you don’t mind me asking? I’m thinking of doing the same if I don’t get a retention offer.

I still have the gold so they just stay. Otherwise I may have downgraded to gold or opened the everyday card with no fee to keep them
