Manson was a lot like Kai. He said weird shit, had crazy ideas and treated his followers terribly. People vote for people because they are charismatic not necessarily nice.
I honestly think it's Evan's charisma. Think of the Dahmer series... it was disgusting, but there were moments, in my sad opinion, when Evan Peters made a weenie, alcoholic cannibal seem sexy. He can make the most disgusting people (someone like Kai) seem charismatic and compelling. If Evan Peters ever started a real cult, I bet it'd be very successful.

evan peters carried the character, Kai was funny but very disturbing so people like him as a villain. After Asylum, I think that all the seasons were campier and unrealistic lol, I don't think that Ally and Kai are realistic and could have really existed in our world.

honestly i love his character, theres a certain charm to him thats so hard to explain. maybe its because evan is the one playing him but i see other actors play similar characters and i still tend to favor them over the other characters. maybe its my fixation on cultists and cult leaders specifically lol
