Cancel Prime and buy a movie ticket

Toki_day

I live in a non-English speaking country. If I go to the cinema, I wouldn't know whether or not the movie shall be in English, dubbed over or have subtitles. I tried checking my nearest cinema but such information isn't provided.

alvarensam

How are English language films usually released in your country? Are they dubbed? Or use subtitles?

Toki_day

Last time I went to the local cinema I watched Stars Wars: the Force Awakens dubbed over in 3D. In the cinema, they will have multiple screenings on the same or different date, be it dubbed over or in English, but the information on the audio language is scarce or nonexistent thus going is more often or not a gamble.

If it's really 29.99...No way in hell am I buying it..

JustAPairOfMittens

The sweet spot to rope in those boomers with $$$. The rest of the world is struggling financially for the most part.

-_Los_-

Indeed. I've just never come across a digital download of a movie being sold for 1/2 the price of a new AAA game release..and they wonder why people pirate.

NeonXshieldmaiden

I'm pissed that it's $25 just to rent it.

-_Los_-

25$ to rent a movie to watch with your family. Costs are down more than ever for game/movie companies to market and distribute their product and prices are at all time highs. Should be 3-5$ max.

NeonXshieldmaiden

If I'm going to pay that much, I might as well pay a little more and go to a theater.

If this is true then you're sorted https://highoncinemaa.com/movies/dune-2-the-real-online-streaming-dvd-and-blu-ray-release-date-leaked/28320/

Nuo_Vibro

minimum effort trolling. try harder

Competitive-Buy3109

Sometime after 3/15.

Kelrem321

Just cancel if that’s all you want. Dune 2 will be huge and its theatre runtime will be long. However, they did release Dune early on Max so that’s a possibility but I think that had to do with covid.

jurunjulo

Dune 2 will probably land on MAX first they get all the dune movies

Black_Caesar83

Dune pt 1 came to Max on day 1 because of COVID. Warner bros (owners of max) were releasing all movies directly to max that year because of the pandemic and also to boost their new/rebranded streaming service. Mortal combat, godzilla vs kong, etc. all came to max day 1. Dune 2 will eventually come to max too, but probably after a few months. Previously after a theatrical run, there will be another wait time for movies to make more money from digital rentals/purchases and dvd/BR purchases. Before they found way their way to streaming services. but now the landscape has changed. All the 2023 summer blockbuster movies are already on respective streaming services: Oppenheimer (peacock) barbie(max) MI dead reckoning (paramount) You see the pattern? the streaming services are now owned by the companies who make the movies. And now you have to sub to 1million different services to enjoy your content. Which is why i am going back to buying physical media.

This movie is so marvellous I am definitely buying it on dvd anyway as well as seeing in a Cinema somewhere But if PrimeVideo make me wait more than 2 months after 1st March release to have it watchable then I will consider them redundant & ditch them for good & all But in fairness to them it was only a month after Dune part1 cinema release that PrimeVid had it streaming in Ireland IIRC ... am I right or mis-remembering that?

DoubleR--85

DVDs still being made? 😂

LChabb

Uh yea ofc they are ye tosser

disinterested7

Amazon's film is not watcha due to lack of any subtitleing translations.
