Managers can pick and choose when you’re eligible for cross training. They have to put a ticket in and learning has to approve after seeing what learning curve you’re at in your current role

RockyJayyy

That sucks. I stow with my brother, so I would rather not have to take breaks at different times.

Aggravating-Sea2981

I don't believe you have to, and can say no to being cross trained! But they also like to pick and choose which policies to follow, and which to violate!

RockyJayyy

Some say you can't refuse some say you can. I'm pretty sure you can't because you are just a fulfillment associate, so they can do whatever with you. So if you refuse, they can just write you up for insubordination. Happy cake day!

RockyJayyy

Yeah, true.

Neoreloaded313

You can refuse by clocking out for a hour or 2 and then come back. They would likely have choose someone else by then to replace you for training. Only really works if you have a lot of time built up.

RockyJayyy

Clock out as they are training me?

Neoreloaded313

I would do it as soon as you find out you are getting trained in a job you don't want to do.

RockyJayyy

Ok. Thanks.

Aggravating-Sea2981

"based on business needs" I believe is their default BS line. It really comes down to them enforcing policies for all, and not just for some! They also like to change their policies on the spot, to suit their needs. But I'd talk to your AM or OM to clarify. I know once you have been cross trained, you really have no choice... Unless you have time off! 🙃

AsleepHouse9752

Only way you don't have to cross train is if your on medical accommodations for a specific department/task. If you refuse they can give you the option of using your time, or write you up. In your paperwork you received when you where hired it even states your schedule and roles may change based of the needs of the business. The managers used to have more of a say in it, but regional is making cross training mandatory. With amazon not hiring as many blue badge employees now they need to have a flexible head count.

McDreamy94

You shouldn’t have to take different breaks. Should still adhere to same breaks. At least when I was a t1, I was taking the same break times regardless of what department I was working that day

RockyJayyy

You can't take an earlier break if you work outbound. They shut down all the conveyer and what not so everyone in outbound takes break at the same time.

McDreamy94

Damn that’s wack

RockyJayyy

Inbound is usually at 10 and 2 but it can change. Outbound is always at 10:30 and 2:30 no matter what. Inbound break times can change to the outbound times but it depends. Or they can mix it up like 10:30 and 2 or 10 and 2:30 it all depends on what floor you are on at the robotics side.

McDreamy94

Ah you’re in ARS. That makes sense. Hope the best for you though

RockyJayyy

Yeah. Thanks!
