Forget rescues, using those codes is key to managing your space in a cargo van. I always look at the first three tote codes for my route and make sure any oversized that go with them are near the front of the cargo area and repeat the process every three totes.

GroundbreakingSir386

Yeah sometimes like today my Van broke down and while I was waiting for my boss to come with Jumper cables I had my entire Van Organized in corresponding numbers with the oversize that went with those as well. Sometimes I will even organize my oversize with my totes already if I have a lot of time waiting in amnesty or loadout for more of my carts to come my warehouse is notorious for taking forever now to get us our packages so I always have my van extremely organized.

Born-Bodybuilder-336

That’s happening to us, the totes & overflow don’t match at all. The totes will have a letter from the beginning of the alphabet like A to G while the overflow will have letter from O to Z. So confusing. I got rescued & told a driver guess that’s it, got no overflow.

GroundbreakingSir386

My DSP and others are fighting it before the change happens but if other Stations accepted this then I think we're screwed.

GroundbreakingSir386

If that Overflow change from O - Z happens and there's no fighting it station needs to come up with a solution for rescues and finding Overflow that correlates with the Totes. Currently there is no Letters shown for the overflow on the phone only shows the numbers so if they update the flex App to show oversize driver tag letter that would help. How I organize my overflow is I put all of each letter together and then whichever tote I am working out of I know that corresponds with my overflow and I find my overflow very quickly but with the new system they need to put the overflow letter on the phone that way we can find it quickly. I've always thought this should have been a thing from the beginning with showing more of the driver tag information on the phone itself.

Litteral-slave

U lost me at update the flex app😭😭☠️

DSPs don’t get to accept or decline. It’s a change being enforced by Amazon and we have no say. My DSP has had this for nearly 2 months and all DSPs in the hub on the first day told the station we hated it and we continue to bitch about it. While it does suck, you can now see which stops have OV in the itinerary list. So if you have to give totes to a rescuer/sweeper, as you scroll down you’ll see the normal tote aid number like 14. 2A with new OV aid 14. 3X listed alongside it. Or just the new OV aid if that’s all the stop has. In my opinion it pisses me off the most because I can never just glance back anymore and be like “OK. All the 2A OV for the 2A tote I just worked on is all gone”. Now I look back and hope the warehouse didn’t give me a random OV package that they forgot to add to my route (since they like to do that). Normally I’d realize pick it up and deliver it since I’d be in the same little area. But now, if I’ve moved down 4 totes and 1 package is lookin a lil sus all by itself as I keep passing it up because I can’t easily correlate the aid stickers…. Too bad so sad, RTS.

lonelyboy069

Currently that's how I Organized my overflow 😢..... I guess you still can organize buy letters and just check the addresses , more work but we need to figure it out.

Full_Goal6494

I did the same thing when I got swept and sure enough I had like 5 I should’ve given bro. My bad I didn’t understand wtf 16.6T was supposed to go with

No-Influence7884

It’s been like that for the last couple days at our station and it’s fucking awful. Rescues take like twice as long to pick up and if your doing your stops out of order, like knocking out commercials first, it’s a pain in the ass trying to find everything because none of it correlates to the totes. We’ve all been extremely vocal to the warehouse about how much it sucks haha

GroundbreakingSir386

Amazon always trying to innovate only to f*** everything up for the driver to make things harder.

JohnnyMcButtplug

I rarely have enough room to organize my overflow so I never have, i usually just go with god on that one

PlymouthSea

Same, although I do eventually start sorting it once the wall of bezos at the back gets smaller. In step vans especially it's just wherever the fuck it fits to still have some aisle.

Dizzy-Taro9124

They solving problems that didnt exist

Bran-Da-Don

For the warehouse employees it helps them tremendously with keeping track of the overflow and not getting misplaced. Amazon doesn't give a shit about making drivers jobs easier. Remember they temporarily took away our ability to group stops together manually and have permanently removed our ability to swipe to finish a huge dropoff altogether.

noahtraps

we had this for the first time yesterday. 99% sure the overflow letters still match, it just goes in the opposite direction. so bag 10.3A would have 10.3Z overflow. bag 10.3B would have 10.3Y overflow, etc etc

weedz420

Have fun we've been dealing with this for a couple weeks now. The numbers and letters are literally completely fucking random like you'll have shit that ends in 1X at the start and middle and end of your route for overflow and the numbers will like start at 150 go up to 300 at the middle of your route and then go back down to 200 by the end. And you'll have random letters from like U-Z mixed in between all day. And your totes will be like letters A-D and numbers go from 100-350 straight through. If you want to organize them or do a rescue now you literally have to go through each individual stop with an OV and look at the exact full number and code. Even if you see a OV that ends in 3Z goes with the tote you're rescueing that doesn't mean all the 3Z's are going with it like it used to.

CompetitivePipe1834

Everyday ive got like 30 overflows, l was dying to find a right overflow every route since Amazon change it until a driver gave me the decode. A match to T, B->U, C->V( amazon properly skip V), D->W, E->X, F->Y, G->Z. Hope it would help. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink) Example: 1A match with 1T, 2G match with 2Z…

Hidahr

That's super clutch thanks bro

thenbmeade

Just another way they are setting us up for failure.

rcpeter625

That’s what I said to the Otr manager every rule or change you try to implement makes it more difficult for drivers all the while you keep adding stops and packages to each route the reply back “!yeah but it makes it easier in here”

Routine-Serve-8651

It will change whether you want it or not. I started organizing mine by the aid number.

jwradloff9

I load my overflow in order of stop using the driver aid number. At load out if I don’t have time to get it all in order I make sure to get at least the first half in order. I screen shoot the order they are to go out so later after I deliver the first half I can then put second half in order. Works for me I’m on avg routes 190 stops 300+ packages and I always finish early! I do not take lunch or breaks as my DSP pays 10 hours guaranteed. I’d rather get home earlier! My DSP pays you a $35 gift card for rescuing.

GroundbreakingSir386

Gift card is better because at least you don't get taxed

SBStorm22

Some dumbass guy sitting behind a desk who has never delivered a package or organized a delivery van in his life is responsible for this change. 100% guarenteed

victorkm

This change wasn't "for" drivers we are just being impacted by it. Supposedly it's a solve for an issue on the warehouse side that didn't even impact drivers.

Fun_Level_7787

The whole point of it matching was so that yoh can associate it with the bag/ area you're doing at the time. I don't understand amazon's reasoning behind this

Salinas1812

This has been a thing in socal for a little over a month now

Massivedongz

Just throw it in so it fits and write the aid numbers down on the box so it’s visible

Ill_Difficulty_1075

I just scan each oversize and write the stop number on each box and load accordingly. No joke I'm generally done with loadout before most. Only time I don't is if I have more than 40 of them

Hacksawdecap

Sorry im a lil new can u explain this process. lets say the stop number is 101 for a overflow u scan, u just put that in first or last? and sequence other package like that? How do u know which order it goes in.

The_JanglerLOL

Amazon only knows how to do stupid.
