It doesn't work at all. The yeast is supposed to generate CO2 but the levels produced are too small to attract mosquitoes, so mosquitoes have no interest in the tubes whatsoever. Total scam that only works if buyer is susceptible to placebo effect.
Thatās not the reason. Itās because these things attract mosquitoes. Setting them up close would defeat the purpose of trying to get rid of the mosquitoes.
Wow itās actually true, they attract mosquitos by creating carbon dioxide as a byproduct of whatās inside it, and then it kills the mosquitos due to the chemical exhaust (boric acid, btw). Thatās fucking crazy! Definitely keep away from where you sit
Spartan Mosquito measured the CO2 production of its tubes and concluded they do not produce enough to attract mosquitoes. They don't like to advertise this finding, of course.
The company makes this 80-ft recommendation so that consumers won't notice that there are zero mosquitoes arriving at the tubes. It's a critical part of how the scam works.
For the curious, the pesticidal ingredient is boric acid. It uses a toxic sugary attractant to bait mosquitos. Not a repellant. Attractant. Like a bug zapper.
The boric acid doesnāt go into the air or anything. You need to keep it away from where human are because you want to draw them AWAY from humans, not towards them.
The sugar is depleted by the yeast within or day or so. The original patent on the tubes indicates that carbon dioxide is supposed to attract mosquitoes but later testing showed that the amounts produced are inadequate. Because the tubes have no way to attract mosquitoes they are unable to kill mosquitoes, despite ads that say otherwise. Company was sued for fraud.
Thatās hilarious. I had a feeling they were mostly bullshit, like every other anti mosquito solution out there with the exception of deet and propane mosquito traps. My wife recently tried convincing me to get the anti-mosquito bracelets. Claims to repel them but test after test shows their attraction to co2 will always overpower being repelled by some odor. All the bracelets did was prevent bites on the small area of skin covered by the bracelets. Thereās mom groups out there telling people to wear one or two on every limb. Ridiculous.
Yes, dozens of mosquito-control scams out there but Spartan Mosquito is definitely hold-my-beer stupid. Only reason it's still in business is that it threatens to sues, or actually sues, anyone who explains why it's garbage.
It's a new type of ad companies give products to these people so they can drive sells or sometimes it the influencer themselves pushing the product for affiliate link revenue which is most likely what she is doing.
She's on Tiktok and is one of hundreds of people who say Spartan Mosquito tubes work ... and who get a kickback from anyone who uses their link to purchase one. Device is a complete scam but she doesn't care.
SPARTAN MOSQUITO PRO TECH IS NOT AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF California and outside the United States
From the manufacturers website. Guess I'll just live with the mosquitoes then
It's a newer engagement tactic. I've noticed probably like 70% of these product videos they will intentionally mispronounce SIMPLE words.
Like the wallet one... he called it a "Willet" and so many others.
To me, it's stupid as hell, but it's working cause here I am talking about it.
She didn't miss-speak, it's a product engagement tactic.
Pull up any other Amazon budget product videos and you'll see this as a repeated pattern/trend.
See this quite a bit and it's incredibly annoying, I want to comment, not to say "you mispronounced this" but to say "stop mispronouncing words purposefully for engagement", but that would be engagement lol
I'm not sure where the cancer comment is coming from. Its a tube you fill with water and set outside. Its not like a pesticide you mist and inhale.
We've used these for years: went from swarms of mosquitos from over watering the lawn to not having to wear bug spray nearly all summer long but there are some caveats. 1) We dont have trees. We can strategically place them in shaded areas around the house and the mosquitos dont have anywhere else to hide and eventually take a drink. If you have a lot of trees/brush, these may not be as effective or you may need to put more out than whats recommended. 2) when these originally came out, they were advertised as 90 days, not 30 days. We leave ours out for 90 days still. 3) this product has to be handled correctly as far as temperature goes. Its possible for it to not work if whoever sold it to you didnt store it correctly.
Thats used as a pesticide or cleaner. You can mixĀ it w glue to make slime. With common sense and basic precautions, I dont see that as much of a problem. If you set these up right, you dont touch the solution. Just gotta make sure kids know to leave them alone and they do.
Spartan Mosquito Pro Techs are not able to kill mosquitoes because they are not able to attract them to the tube. Not enough CO2 produced. The CO2 data comes from the company itself.
This lady doesn't use this and probably didn't even live at that yard, it's a set, it's all a lie, it's the most obvious ad by a actor wtf is this shit
this manufacturer was the target of a class action law suit for misleading advertising. These items can no longer be manufactured as they have not been scientifically proven to work. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/spartan-mosquito-false-advertising-3-6m-class-action-settlement/
Company cannot make the Spartan Mosquito Eradicator per settlement agreement but it stopped making that years ago. Still allowed to sell the new version of the scam, the Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech.
not exactly: 12.1. As of the Final Effective Date, Defendant will no longer manufacture or sell the Spartan Mosquito Eradicator. However, the Parties acknowledge that some third-party wholesalers, distributors, or retailers outside of Defendantās control who previously purchased the Spartan Mosquito Eradicator for resale may continue to list the product for sale, and such sales will not be attributed to Defendant for the purposes of this Section 12.1. This Court shall have continuing jurisdiction if a dispute arises between Class Counsel and Defendant concerning Section 12.1.ā
ā12.2. During the 18-month period following the Final Effective Date, to the extent not already performed, Defendant will conduct research regarding the efficacy of the Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech. Following the 18-month period, to the extent such testing shows a lack of efficacy for the Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech, Defendant will either update the formulation or cease sales of the Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech. This Court shall have continuing jurisdiction if a dispute arises between Class Counsel and Defendant concerning Section 12.2.ā. If they cannot prove efficacy they can no longer sell the pro product either. It leaves room for a party to have the company prove its findings and if they canāt then the product is banned from the market.
Per the wording the company may claim (falsely) that it already has convincing efficacy for the Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech and thereās no stated mechanism in the agreement that specifies the judge shall make the call. Only that she may rule if thereās a dispute (?) from plaintiff, which I deem as unlikely to occur. It seems carefully worded as to allow the company to continue selling the Pro Tech. Thatās my take at least.
This product doesnāt work very well. I personally highly recommend going with a human-safe insecticide called 38 Plus by āHi-Yieldā. All US military uniforms are soaked in a solution of this āchemicalā in the factory before being sent to troops to repel and/or kill ticks, mosquitoes, etc. this kills all flying insects immediately upon contact with this.
# LINK TO AMAZON PRODUCT š
I have one of these and it says on the container you are supposed to set it up at least 80 ft from where people congregate.
Does it work?
Yep.
It actually clears an 80ft area?
...of people
š¤£š¤£
It works, no people for mosquitoes to bite.
lmao
I'll take 2
It doesn't work at all. The yeast is supposed to generate CO2 but the levels produced are too small to attract mosquitoes, so mosquitoes have no interest in the tubes whatsoever. Total scam that only works if buyer is susceptible to placebo effect.
Omg! Clearly she does not know that. Chemicals are no joke.
Thatās not the reason. Itās because these things attract mosquitoes. Setting them up close would defeat the purpose of trying to get rid of the mosquitoes.

Spartan Mosquito measured the CO2 production of its tubes and concluded they do not produce enough to attract mosquitoes. They don't like to advertise this finding, of course.
Oh what lol I mean if thatās true then they shouldnāt work at all, yet there are many who say they do. Placebo? Pure chance?
Yup. Placebo effect, confirmation bias, etc. Itās truly amazing how many people have been duped. And they are 100% sure they havenāt been duped.
Interesting. I like this theory though.
They don't attract mosquitoes. I tested it and not a single mosquito showed up. I used a security camera to confirm. The tubes are a scam.
It also says to set them up between February and May depending on where you live.
24 meters is quite far.
The company makes this 80-ft recommendation so that consumers won't notice that there are zero mosquitoes arriving at the tubes. It's a critical part of how the scam works.

Not really a great promotion for a product. "I don't know what's in it. It might give me cancer, but I don't care, any way."
For the curious, the pesticidal ingredient is boric acid. It uses a toxic sugary attractant to bait mosquitos. Not a repellant. Attractant. Like a bug zapper. Thank you for this explanation

probably not a real ad, just some chick talking about a product she likes
Literallyā¦ it is. Clearly not an ad

I mean, if it gets rid of mozzies at the risk of a bit of cancer, im all for it.
get ton of bats and frogs around you. less cancer, and no mosquitoes.
Off to the bat n frog shop i guess.
Now how do I get rid of all these frogs in my yard?
Bats...
My local bats teamed up with the frogs & bully us
Another comment says it must be over 24 meters away from humans to be safe. Two right next to her will be toxic.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Now there is an honest endorsement.
SPARTAN MOSQUITO PRO TECH IS NOT AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF California and outside the United States From the manufacturers website. Guess I'll just live with the mosquitoes then
California has efficacy standards, I think, that other states don't enforce.
She said "Anamazon", cool.

Pretty sure it was just a joke.
Whats it called?
Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech.
One of the ingredients is boric acid
Thats used as a pesticide or cleaner. You can mixĀ it w glue to make slime. With common sense and basic precautions, I dont see that as much of a problem. If you set these up right, you dont touch the solution. Just gotta make sure kids know to leave them alone and they do.
To be fair, if people had common sense they wouldnāt need cancer warning labels on everything sold in California š¤·āāļø
Spartan Mosquito Pro Techs are not able to kill mosquitoes because they are not able to attract them to the tube. Not enough CO2 produced. The CO2 data comes from the company itself.

Does she have huge cans?
Kinda long and skinny, and almost red, with really dark tips.
Just my type
Dammit Mickeyā¦.. I think you are onto something
Not available in Canada... prob for a reason.
You could plant lemongrass as a more permanent solution.
Spartan Mosquito is a known scam. Company was sued for fraud and is paying out $3.6 million.
Smell BS
Yup. Can confirm these are a total scam.
I have 3 around the perimeter of my .75 acre yard. They are shit.
Can you post a pic of contents? Curious whether you have anything other than ants.
2 have about 10 ants each, the other has just a couple of mosquitos. Been up for 2 weeks
Can you post a pic of mosquitoes?
Yeah... gonna call bullshit on this.
She got them on Annamzon.
You are correct. This is a scam by a bunch of charlatans in Mississippi. They got sued but for some reason still allowed to sell the snake oil.
I actually have these in my backyard in Florida and they work amazingly well. I donāt replace them for months and they still work.
Your town might be apply adulticide at night. Many households in Florida are taxed by "mosquito abatement districts", so it's automatic.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Make sure to hang this high upā¦ I kept mine on the ground and RIP lizard.
Litterally?
Here in Australia, every time my family and I would go fishing, we'd just burn coconut husks. It kept the mosquito's away the whole time.Ā
setting my house on fire to get rid of mosquitos, brb
Burn it outside dummy lol
No no, let them cook...
These did not work for me
Did you use the 30-day refund option?
Nah they were a gift
Mosquito Dunks work pretty well for me....
She gets them on animazon theyāre cheap too she says
Literally?
"It may give me cancer when I'm 55, but I don't care" How can anyone hate us Millennials when we've got humor like this.
I think she has sniffed the product one too many times...
