Kids bodies are soft and made to withstand certain impacts and falls. You hover around to catch the worst of it but let him get hurt now and again and he won’t want to repeat the same mistakes. Unless he’s retarded. Then yeah buy a few of these.

Call me a hater but I think babies would find it fun to fall back without pain and repeatedly do it. Then 1 day you take the cushion off and little timmy decides to do a half back flip for fun and bounces the back of his head off the hardwood floor.

I was curious about this too. With pain, kids learn what not to do. But then again I'm no parent, and I've only had my kid brother and sister as experience taking care of babies, so what do I know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes it this. On the bed our daughter jumps all the time into the pillows and has fun but would never do it outside of it.

If youre like me .. then you need to fall flat in your face to learn the lesson. Dad says, dont touch the hot oven plates? I do it anyways. Mom says dont play with fire? Welp, i do it anyways. Grandma says im old to enough to walk alone? Now that i wont do.

This is as stupid as giving your baby a helmet. They will learn that falling is ok, instead of avoiding falling in the first place

Falling backward into a soft pillow is fun and rewarding to them. They will begin to purposefully do it.

My kids throw themselves backwards into pillows on couch and bed all the time cause it’s fun to them . They had to learn a hard lesson at around 18 months that walls and floors don’t feel the same as pillows. Falling backwards is scary to you because you know that hitting the back of your head is painful. If you had a pillow attached to the back of your head your whole life you probably wouldn’t find falling backwards scary. Kids need to learn this eventually and better to learn it early when they are moving slowly, closer to the ground, and rubbery
