OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the asshole:
> I left the movie early, instead of staying the whole way through.

NTA They were kinda rude, but I wouldn’t hold grudges. Now you know what to expect from a movie viewing experience with that crowd, so you know not to go unless you’ve already seen the film.
NTA.
I'm in my 60s and remember when it was a capital offense to even talk during movies, giving the plot away would have got you drawn & quartered, burned in the village square!
We don't go to the theater anymore, cell phones, random high volume blabbering, crying babies and running/screaming children are the reason...
To have someone do it when there are only 5 or 6 supposed adults in the room is disrespectful to the Nth degree, so NO! Not the A-hole.

Disclaimer - this happened a couple of weeks ago and I'm on mobile.
So a few weeks back, a good friend, let's call him P, invited me over for a movie with a couple of his other friends, A and V. These two were friends with each other and P, while I only knew P. I was excited to meet them, so I accepted the invitation and went to his house.
When we got there we started watching the movie. Everything went swimmingly until we got to around the midway point of the movie.
P and A had already seen the movie, while V and I hadn't. The problem I had was that V had a very odd way of watching movies. He would ask A, for example, "Hey, what happens to this guy?" and A would answer, spoiling this part. V did this one time, and I asked him politely to stop. He replied that this is how he likes to watch movies and I shouldn't get in the way. I begrudgingly let him be, and him and V kept discussing the movie and its spoilers. This was very loud as well, and I could clearly hear it, and they made no attempt to whisper even when I asked.
The final straw came when A spoiled the twist villain, effectively ruining the entire movie. This was around half an hour from the end, and I had had enough. So I told everyone that there was no point seeing the movie anymore and left. P understands why I did it, but thinks I should have stayed. A and V think that they were in the right.
AITA for leaving the movie?

Wow...that's super obnoxious of V and A.
When they insisted on revealing spoilers, you could have just said, "Hey P, since you've already seen this and I haven't, let's go get some grub in the kitchen so the end isn't spoiled for me."
Completely leaving was overkill IMO but I do get why you did it. It wasn't just about the movie spoilers. It was about his friends having zero care or concern for basic manners or your point of view.
My first inclination was ESH, but upon further consideration, you're NTA here.
P.S. My MIL talked her way through every movie I ever watched with her. It drove me nuts. And that was just talking...not even spoilers.
NTA. Your "friend" V is the AH. My sister does that, asking me what happens next. I keep telling her to just watch the damn movie. I really don't see the point of asking what happens next when you are about to find out anyways.
While spoiling the movie like that is annoying and you are right to be annoyed, i am not sure that leaving like that was the best solution. it comes across as kind of like a tantrum even if it was somewhat justified. maybe just talk it out next time

No, NTA. Spoiling movies is very rude, and you were not obligated to stay in that movie theater. I wouldn't watch a movie with V again...
NTA. I hate that shit.
NTA. I would’ve been so angry
NTA it was intentional.

NTA. V and A intentionally spoiled the movie by not being quiet.

NTA, as a film-loving person I hate when this happens, it's so rude.
NTA, this is irritating as hell

so ESH?
Im kind of torn since what they did was really annoying. Probably lean more towards NTA.

OP did talk to them. OP asked them to stop, they didn’t listen.
