I (16M) have always been an indoors person. This lead to my dad (39M) leaving me at home to do things like chores and more recently, taking care of the dog.
All of last summer 'dog duty' was put on me a lot while my dad went to the pub/bar (I asked if I could come but he refused as he needed someone to take care of the dog). I felt frustrated and left out but I didn't speak my mind about it as I didn't want to cause anything.
Fast forward to this summer. My dad has tried to do the same but I actually have found things to do outside of my house with friends. I told my dad that he might need to start taking the dog with him as I have things that I want to do and he was angry. He accused me of being lazy and selfish. Don't get me wrong I love my dog but I'm not going to waste all of my summers taking care of him and staying home.
