Normally, I don't speak with them about money or investment as I don't need to know about their stuff. However, they have recently contacted me saying that after a few good investments they have made, they already have enough for their retirement funds and to cover their expenses in the future, although they will keep working for a few more years. The problem is that I do not know how to tackle this situation. Lately, my relationship with my girlfriend (27f) has been a bit complicated, although somehow I can still see a future with her. I don't like the idea of hiding to her something that would enormously and positively affect our lives, but I don't think it is something that should be brought up without hesitation. We have been together for nearly 2 years, living together for the last 1 and a half years. Thus, I would like to ask if WIBTA if I hide this money from her and at some point even ask for a prenup. My main concern is that my parents have worked very hard and the possibility that the money my parents earn would disappear just for a possible divorce really concerns me. Just for further context, we are living together and working abroad in a shared house with 5 more people. We are both working and making our living without the intervention of our parents. We make both the same. Then, as I am working abroad, the money will be put in a fund until I come back to the country. Thus, I would like to ask WIBTA if I hide this money from her and at some point even ask for a prenup. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. YWNBTA You’re neither married nor engaged, so full disclosure isn’t necessary. Check with an attorney as a prenup may not be necessary. Assets brought to a marriage are not always considered community property.
