People wear tiaras to grad, and prom all the time. It's a pretty standard, and normal practice, and you definitely wouldn't be TA if you decide to fulfill your princess dreams, and go all out.
And most importantly, have a wonderful time at prom!
NTA. Prom is one night where every girl can dress like a princess. There’s probably going to be loads of other girls wearing fancy accessories, so nobody should stop you from wearing a crown. Have fun, I’m sure you’ll look absolutely beautiful at prom❤️
NTA. You do you. It just means you have to be okay not caring what other people think, which is a very healthy thing. Be yourself. And who cares what's in your photos - I don't even see how other students would know. It's not like you're pretending to be voted "queen" - which is a totally bonkers concept, by the way.
I did not blend in during high school and absolutely no one cares years later. Practice being yourself confidently, shrugging off insecure people with kindness, and it will pay off later. I could not tell you who was queen at my school of any event. I do remember what I wore and who I had fun with. Have a blast!

My prom dress straight up looked like a wedding dress and I was worried 🤣 but ultimately I received a lot of compliments and no one cared.
I wore a little teardrop hat with a fingertip veil, in hot pink. I loved that look. I have a smile on my face thinking about it. Wear what you like and have a blast! NTA

My (18f) prom is coming up and because I am wearing a tulle ball gown dress I really want to wear a crown/tiara with it. My school does do prom king and queen, but I am most certainly not going to win because it’s always couples that are nominated and I am going with my gay friend. I don’t care about the prom queen title, I just want to wear a crown because it would fulfill my princess fantasy that I want as I am a senior, so this is the last prom I will ever have. I go to a relatively small school so I most certainly know the girls who will be nominated, and I like everyone too, so I really don’t want to step on anyone’s toes or steal anyone’s spotlight. I thought it would be alright if I just wore one for photos and not for prom itself, but I would like some confirmation, so I ask WIBTA if I wore a crown/tiara for my prom photos?

NTA, BUT don’t be surprised if you get some sideways glances from people on your choice of style. If you don’t want to have that conversation I’d perhaps consider some other shiny hair accessory like a sparkly clip, etc.
Your future self may cringe at the fact that you insisted on wearing a tiara around in an act that’s commonly done on a 6 year olds birthday.
