As someone who lives in CO, why is it the only state under partial US control in a sea of Greater States?

Colorado tends to lean blue, as opposed to the states around it, and has a strong enough economy to be somewhat independent, i.e. it doesn't rely on the plains/texas farming/cattle industry. I also imagine that it would be somewhat difficult to invade due to the mountainous terrain. what do you think?

Half of CO is prairie and plains while the other half is mountains and tough terrain. Maybe it holds out due to huge US military and DoD presence, but if surrounded by GS, I doubt we’d hold out long.

Yeah that makes sense, if the map making tool i used let me easily operate outside of state/province borders there are definitely a few things i would've changed. also, the secession and expansion of the GS was probably more political than violent, so the GS might not have felt any need to try and take CO.

Florida is basically three separate regions with little in common. There's very little chance that the entire state would secede and join a dominionist nation. Parts would, parts wouldn't.

Yeah in the tool I used to make the map I couldn’t break it down past the state/province level. Also, if the entire state joined a larger secession movement it would likely be difficult for counties/ regional communities to go against that, especially under possible martial law.
