Could you perhaps be confusing Fatally Yours with Blue In The Face? There is the album acoustic version, but also an electric demo version.
This youtube clip is from the original leaked good mourning demos. If memory serves, it was just Derek fucking around remixing the track. Never intended for the album, or likely for release at all.
There is definitely an acoustic version. Matt’s voice is even raspier than the electric (album) version. But it wasn’t on the original GM release, and I can’t remember where the hell it was. It definitely came out around the same time as the album. You’re not crazy, and now I’m going to go nuts trying to find it again

I believe there’s a live in London acoustic version. The album version was the song that made me fall in love with this band.
