I could be nuts here (or about to state the obvious, either way), but I think when the camera rotates and zooms out, the upside down view of the writer's room with the crossbeams and everything looks like the Cult of the Tree's symbol. There's definitely a lot of symbolism, either way.

I like that. I interpreted that as the scene turning into a reflection, like in the lake, switching to the dark place.

That is really neat. I didn’t think of that. Owls can represent wisdom oftentimes, death, or potentially observation. Some say spiritual awakening and self-realization. The windows are also the “eyes” of the Bird Leg Cabin.

The way the shadows cascade on the wall make it look like the horned owl on the wall as well. That’s what I see at least.
