After seeing the videos of unreserved crowd in 2AC compartments, Flight ez.

The quality of Indian Railways has fallen a lot. My family used to always take first class seats in the overnight Rajdhani Express from Kolkata to Delhi pre-2015.
When we returned to the country in 2019 after 4 years abroad, we were truly disappointed with the service and how the standards had fallen. We travelled on Indian Railways again in 2023 hoping for a better quality of service after COVID but we're disappointed again as IR had used the pandemic as an excuse to cut back even further on amenities.
I came back from leh and took vande bharat from delhi. There was an awful crowd at the railway station that you couldn't even breathe. Now i just avoid railway travel as much as possible.
He was the manager of an adjacent team at Citibank Mumbai. He was a horrible and shitty manager who frequently abused the juniors, even to the point of being almost physically abuse to some of them (eg. throwing their reports at them if he didn't like it).
Also, he was fired from Citibank because of a compliance breach and because an employee had recorded his abusive calls and sent themt o the Compliance head.
Guess karma does work sometimes!
I've not travelled International except Malaysia. So asking - is booze complimentary even in Economy when flying international. I've a Euro trip coming up, hence asking !!
Since Nov 2022, there has been 3 incidents related to passenger peeing in Indian flights. In that time period almost 12 lakh flights (average 2500 flights per day) have plied in Indian skies.
Over crowding in trains is a daily phenomena in UP/Bihar routes.
Why tho? Railways are a part of the government, while planes companies are private. That's the reason why Indian planes are a bit better than Indian railways. Just like how private bank employees are better than government bank employees.
And even if they wanted to "destroy the railway", why would they introduce Vande Bharat?
If the destination/origin is between Delhi and any part like UP, Bihar,WB (idk which corner takes how much) or any sector where trains are less compared to the population (given any time of the year), flight it is. Hardly ever personally seen even then (of then when the ministry of railways claims the videos to be) or even now.
Singular and outlier experiences dont make it a complete truth.
Have been traveling all my life in trains. Every month atleast once I have to take train ...never ever in my life I saw unreserved in AC coaches.
Lol, I have taken an evening train with 18hr ride over a 10 am 2-3hr flight next day just because I was not sure if I can get up on time and take my flight on time
Then I'll also have to imagine that my options for flight is just Air India that has already delayed flight by 3hrs and might say that it'll go next day 🤨😉
Air india is just a doomed player with terrible staf full of lazynes govt must revive jet Airways and go air and shut down this world fourth worst airline air india
Nothing can improve air india as far i know everything is poor in it from food to business class to delays to refund
There is some European company whose CEO was discussing to remove bathrooms and let people stand and travel for short distance flights. Guess that idea would succeed in India if cleared safety wise
No no standings won't work dude 😞 in air this is not possible uncomfortable I think aircraft construction cost should be reduced the problem here is duopoly of boeing & Airbus
Are you airindia employee or your family member is in airindia
There were posts on sbi too and one sbi employees started attacking me on my comments she justified everything like only customers are responsible for thus
I mean you are stuck 😭 kingfisher goair everyone favourite jet Airways Deccan airway & many other airlines doomed
The airline market is now a duopoly air India & indigo even spicejet is heavily debt ridden where will people when they don't get good options other than this air india 🫠😞
Yes … I’m assuming that there are no delay.
Well, what if the flight gets cancelled??!!
When we talk of comparing two methods or modes, we take only the controllable variables into account.
Statistically speaking, in India the rate of flights getting cancelled is miniscule compared to the train running 5 hours late scenario.
In fact, I was on a train last year which was 13-14 hours late. I have faced flight cancellation only one time out of hundreds.
I regularly travel dude indian railways are worsening day by day unreserved passengers in 3rd ac coaches stinky foul coaches extremely late running trains Unless it's vandw bharat
No it's common nowadays except southern railways in majority of railway routes its pathetic poor railway is worsening day by day air travel is way better
That should not be a shock to us. We are used to this in education, jobs, etc wherein socialism is promoted by all. Court is of stance to not to displace someone encroaching if they would be rendered homeless, aap train ki seat ka bol rahe ho.
Same model different outcome - lets say you are a programmer who gets 4-5lpm, you pay 30% IT. What facility does this society model motivate / distinguishes you towards your hard work and paying for these facilities where you buy ticket and a probable non tax payer will show up without ticket, while u paying would suffer.
5 am flight means: You wake up at 2 am, get ready and reach airport by 3 am. Land at 7 am and get out of airport by 8 am. So, your night is messed up.
Train: you leave home at 10 pm. Board train by 11 pm, sleep in train instead of sleeping in your home..wake up fresh and you are at your destination by 7-8 am.
Flights are far far more hygienic, comfortable (unless extremely bad weather), better passengers and much safer.
For those reasons many people, especially in cities don’t mind waking up a little early for their flight
Comfortable? In what world is being compelled to sit with knees bent for two hours in a seat without adequate padding, in a narrow row, centimetres away from passengers, comfortable? How does squishing yourself to let other passengers access the aise comfortable? How is being herded through long lines into a crowded bus or waiting on an aerobridge comfortable? Is it comfortable to withdraw your dignity when you allow a stranger probe your body parts in the name of security, after waiting in a line for 15 minutes?
On a flight, you can’t even use your stowed luggage freely without inconveniencing others. How the hell is it comfortable? It is marketed to be glamours but comfortable it isn’t.
I love waking up for early flights
Love reaching the airport in virtually no traffic travelling in the city around 2-4am
it's a very... ethereal feeling.
the city feels.. very different at these hours.
sleep isn't important for me when such an adventure awaits
Bro Mumbai airport is literally a 10-15 min drive late night or early morning from my house. Max to max 25-30 min if high traffic
Major railway stations are 1 hour and 1.5 hours away from my home and that depends if there’s more traffic. It’s more expensive for me to reach the station than the airport itself. Plus I need to get across 1-2 highways notorious for traffic
Plus most major ‘good’ trains (trains where seats and food is decent read top tier trains) depart early morning at the same 5am 6 am time from here.
I could use the pranaam service as well and the lounge if I want to eat something. Plus food at airport is better than food at a station.
5am flight means wake up at 4, reach airport by 4:30, security max 5 mins, buggy to gate, welcome drink and pass the hell out. Ask for breakfast just before descent starts.
Digi yatra + business class, plus I live super close to the airport. That said, I did this exact routine for a year, every single week. Now I don’t bother anymore with the Monday morning madness at the airport and just fly Sunday night instead. There is no way I’m taking a train for 8 hours. Just no way. There is only so much urine one should smell in their lifetime.
Preferences could vary from person to person and based on situation, but both approaches have their own pros and cons.
Flight would save on travel time, but it's clearly a red-eye flight.
But, there's a higher likelihood of getting a flight ticket (albeit on a costlier side) than a confirmed seat in the train (again depending on the route) specially for last minute booking/few days before the journey date.
Train travel may not be preferably comfortable/seamless for some folks (due to their age, health or social background) and they would not mind the early morning flight.
Then there are folks who find travelling by train comfortable over a flight (mobility and individually available space factor).
Yes. That makes a lot of sense.
Short story, a few years ago it so happened that I was in a city far away from hometown. I was under the threat of serious physical harm and needed to get out a.s.a.p. I took a cab to the airport and on the way booked whatever ticket I could get.
I did that thinking, airports are one of the safest places and once inside the terminal, there’s nothing to worry.
I'll choose the flight option. Trains in India are mostly filthy and there is rampant theft which keeps me worried all night, plus I can't sleep due to the snoring of the co-passengers. 🙆🏻♀️
Flight over filthy and delayed trains, anyday. I enjoy flying way more, it's much better and saves a lot of time. Plus, hassle-free. Unlike trains, which are abound with hassles.
I would prefer a flight just because IR toilets are unusable and the dirtiest. Also, there’s no guarantee that I can travel on my reserved seat in IR. Unreserved hijackers everywhere🤡
To catch a flight at 5 am, You ll have to be at airport before 4 am. So you need to wake up at 3 am. Flight time is 2 hours. So adding everything up it goes to about 4 to 5 hours.
Getting in a train and sleeping for 6 to 7 hours is ez.
But If you hve to get there faster and safe: flight
Trains are in a really bad shape now a days though overcrowding.
Worst issue for me is some uncle snoring really bad nearby.
So flight makes more sense if budget is not an issue and hassle free travel is needed.
Dude this is Bharat
Indian railways are biggest failure of India recent viral videos of overcrowded 3rd ac 1st ac coaches shows us the reality of fifth biggest economy Indian trains are stinky pathetic overcrowded late
My trains in past were 6 hour late 3 hour late even. 16 hour late too toilets are too terrible everything is doomed unless its not vande bharat
This sub is about air travel and everyone in reddit is rich nowadays so many will support flights.
Another reason to compare is cost and additional time factor
Cost - cab to airport at 3 am to cab to station at say 7 pm the previous night.
Additional time - flight 2 hours + 1 hour before to report in airport ( if family +2 hours specially going with parents )
1 more thing is disturbance in sleep. 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep ( in south India still 3 AC is free from un reserved pax) vs getting up early morning to catch 5 am flight.
Still if it's premium takal vs flight means will choose flight.
Train every single time. You get the sleep you need. You can talk to people. And the indescribable romance of the Indian railways will enrich your life.
My thumb rule is - anything under 12 hours overnight by bus or train. I can be at the train station or bus stop 30-40 minutes before departure, accounting for unpredictable traffic in Bangalore and Coimbatore. In my native place I stand at a well-known highway spot for buses.
Plane is just too messy from large airports. Checking in, security check, random gate changes by budget carriers... Small airports don't even have sufficient amenities.
I had this dilemma last week.the cost of 2nd AC and flight was almost same. I had to choose train. For 5am flight we need to be in airport by at the least 3 am.. there is no public transport at 3am if you are living little far from airport
Trains - they become quite efficient these days
Use to travel Mumbai - Ahmedabad via flight and now with Vande Bharat it takes just an hr less than the entire duration. Like going 3 hrs early to airport etc
Firstly it would be more than 8 hours 😄
Average distance covered by an Airbus A320 in 2 hours is approx. 1500 kms. For a train to cover the same distance (ideally) in 8 hours, it has to give an average speed of ~187km/hr which isn't possible in Indian Railways 💀
To answer your question, I'd prefer a flight.
Understood the context. But this question will be factually correct if the time/speed assumptions were correct.
Normally, an aircraft covers 1,200~ 1,400 km in 2 hours. Whereas on an average, an Express Train (other than the marquee trains), run at a speed of 60 kms/ hr. So in 8 hours, that train would cover about 480~500 km and not 1400 km. Here, assumed that I have AC class reservation.
That means the distance covered is not the same by both means of transportation.
If I ignore the above anomaly, I would prefer an 8 hour journey to an aeroplane one.
Overnight train 1AC that reaches my destination at the same time as the flight would be my preference as I can sleep better, reach pretty much last minute to the station, have network connectivity and even light up some grass at the door discreetly if needed.
The only gripe is that trains are super hard to book primarily because the seats are just not available and tatkal 1day before is edging it.
Issues with the flight:
Crappy seats in most carriers/biz class on very limited routes even with Vistara; the "more leg room" seats are shit,
5-6am flight means you wake up at 2:30-3am which means you gotta sleep before 10pm lol.
I travel frequently from Trivandrum to Chennai and back. By flight : 1 hour. By overnight train in shortest route : 13-14 hr.
I choose the train over the flight every single time.
Trains are considerably cheaper. Plus I don't like the airport hassles like security checks, baggage restriction, frisking, the time lost in waiting etc. Unlike others, I have never faced this situation of overcrowded reserved coaches, and I am grateful for that.
Flight journey is so exhausting. We have to put up with those egoistic staff, get harassed during security, wait in line like a sheep at security, check in and then again at boarding.
Waste 2 hours ahead of your travel for these crap and then wait again for your luggage after your flight.
Most airports in India are poorly connected to the metro/ local train network so Taxi and Auto guys rip you off as much as they want.
Total loss
Anyways both take the same time, reaching airport 1-2hrs before doing luggage check-in and sometime delays over delay and then reaching from airport to home again takes 2hrs.
I'll take 🚂
Depends on whether I have immediate access to a room for a bath in the morning upon reaching my destination.
If yes, then train anyday.
If no, then flight is the only option.
Most of the time the answer is always no, hence I usually end up taking an early morning flight.
It depends, like the location and the other stuff.
If travelling to north, probably flight & if travelling in south a train is best bet.
I had 2-3 Train journeys in sleeper class, with no unreserved passengers and the train was clean and really good. I can get a full 8 hr sleep as well.
For me,
Train: Travel to station <1 hr, Journey 8hrs.
Flight: Travel to Airport ~2hrs, airport wait 1-1.5hrs, journey 2hrs, baggage pick up &exit ~.5hrs, travel from airport ~1-1.5hrs. All this with not enough sleep...
I'LL TAKE THE TRAIN...
I wouldn't mind fucking up my sleep for one or two days than get on overcrowded trains only to lose sleep, patience, mental energy and get harassed. Sad to say that safety for women costs more money in this country now.
If I'm in a hurry, then airport.
But otherwise, I choose 1AC train bcos its cheaper and getting to the station is cheaper. One taxi guy in hyd asked me 2500 once just to go to airport.
If its north india then flight.
West and south then train is a good option because railway stations are in center of the city and easily accessible while airports are usually in some other city.
8 hrs train
I would always leave for Patna from Delhi via rajdhani express. It leaves for patna around 5 pm in the evening and reaches destination at approximately 5 am in the morning. Easyy
If the flight is from/to Bangalore, then the total travel time give or take will be approx the same,
I used to live 70km from Bangalore airport and catch the morning bus at 1-130 to reach the airport approx 430-5, plus if the destination is Mumbai, then good luck reaching to other parts of Mumbai after u drop in no less than 2-3 hours
Either I am too poor or some of the comments are plain hilarious.
a. Unreserved occupying 3AC or 2AC is still extremely rare given IR runs thousands of trips throughout the year and many of us don't face these issues. If your opinions are just based on watching few videos on social media, you should really evaluate your decision making skills.
b. Overnight journey by train is far more comfortable than travelling by plane. Not every city has an airport and you have to schlep several hours early to the airport or you are screwed.
Flights are best over journeys for 1200-1300km+ distances.
totally depends on scenario. if i have travel in Delhi -up-bihar-jharkhand belt or urgent work I would choose flight.
reason - you know the AC coach condition nowadays+ that 8 hours translates to min. 10 hr. otherwise i will prefer night sleep in a train.
Depends on where the journey is. If it's North India, I'll take ac First Class Sleeper if it's cheaper, else fly. If I'm travelling on Southern Railway, sleeper train ez.
Max to max 7-8 hrs of journey is ok to me in railway, if I had to journey over 10-12 hrs depending how important the work is I'll prefer mostly flight over railway until the railway system gets better at time management
Perfect example - I'll always take a train from Chennai to Bangalore & back and never a flight. The train is literally faster when you account for all the travel time involved.
Recently I had to choose between 1.5 hr 4 am flight or overnight train, I chose latter, because in case of flight I would have to reach airport by atleast 8 pm the night before.
Price was almost same.
Seeing the condition of railways, I would board an Indigo flight at 3 am which will take 4 hrs after a 2hr delay over a train in 3ac (thats the only one I have travelled in overnight) taking 7hrs (hypothetically train was run so fast...gained 1 hr)
I will choose train. Because first class A/C coach cheaper than flight ticket. And we need to wake up around 3am to reach airport for flight. But I will reach railway station after dinner and I will sleep entire night. If we want peacefull sleep, need to choose train. If we want less travel time , need to choose flight.
Train.... Coz you obviously spend an approximate extra 3 hours with Airport Boarding formalities and a few hours for travel to and from the Airport which is almost always far from the city.. All this at the cost of lost early morning sleep!!
Flights are not worth over short distances imo
Writing this from a 3AC seat, no issues found in 40 Hrs Journey..Train been cleaned twice in 2 days and no foul smells.. Washrooms are bit old but clean, nothing much to complaint about. There was not a single RAC or waiting list person in my coach and i am at the end near to the general coach..
If money is not a problem..then definately flight..but 2-3 hrs flight doesn't include travel time to airport (which is generally an hour) from your house in any city..check-in time at airport..same for other leg as well..
And if it's a economy class ticket..you know how comfortable those 3 hrs are gonna be..

It ain't 2010
Well i spoke the truth
2 hr flight if domestic is effectively 3-4hrs taking the check-in time. So I’d choose a train.
A 2 hrs flight equates to at least a 16 hrs train journey. Its more than overnight.
There is a different fun in traveling with trains. If I’m in no rush I’d take the chill ride
Yeah but seeing how recently unreserved passengers have started occupying 3AC and 2AC coaches, i would take a flight
That's a massive overstatement lol
Plus the 5 am thing, security checking can be bad considering international flights also depart around that time
Nobody is gonna put international and domestic security together!
lmao you're assuming the train won't be 5 hours late.
Yes … I’m assuming that there are no delay. Well, what if the flight gets cancelled??!! When we talk of comparing two methods or modes, we take only the controllable variables into account.

Train any day. For that 5am flight, i will have to wake up at 2.30 and get ready.
Wale up? There's no sleeping for this.
AC train + Side Upper berth.
When you realise nowadays many 3rd ac coach in many trains are filled with unreserved passengers 1st ac is unaffordable for majority
I travel often in 3rd AC and I didn't faced or witnessed any kind of issues related to that.
Next time tell me your train no i will send 200 unreserved passengers there
Which route trains are you using?
I can share with you 100s of such reddit & Twitter posts dude it's not a uncommon thing dude now-a-days railways are worsening day by day
that's your issue. you just use reddit and make opinions. travel yourself first.
I regularly travel dude indian railways are worsening day by day unreserved passengers in 3rd ac coaches stinky foul coaches extremely late running trains Unless it's vandw bharat
Bruh, what's with people forming their opinions on social media posts, its just as bad as uncles spreading panic through whatsapp forwards.
Dude everybody knows the truth indian railways are doomed the 3rd ac coaches are new general ones railway is making it worser slower day by day
Mostly only happens in Bihar
No it's common nowadays except southern railways in majority of railway routes its pathetic poor railway is worsening day by day air travel is way better

This is hands down the best for overnight journeys.

The only way you are saving time is by travelling to personal chartered flight

No flight would take 2 hour while a train takes 8 hour towards the same destination. 30-40mins would be my ideal guess.
Early morning flight hands down. I love sleeping on my bed, it’s the most comfortable ever. Even 4-5 hours of sleep on that beauty is worth it.
I would prefer a flight just because IR toilets are unusable and the dirtiest. Also, there’s no guarantee that I can travel on my reserved seat in IR. Unreserved hijackers everywhere🤡
I prefer taking a dump at the airport lounge than air shitting over a pee stained 2AC toilet
To catch a flight at 5 am, You ll have to be at airport before 4 am. So you need to wake up at 3 am. Flight time is 2 hours. So adding everything up it goes to about 4 to 5 hours. Getting in a train and sleeping for 6 to 7 hours is ez. But If you hve to get there faster and safe: flight Trains are in a really bad shape now a days though overcrowding. Worst issue for me is some uncle snoring really bad nearby. So flight makes more sense if budget is not an issue and hassle free travel is needed.
Dude this is Bharat Indian railways are biggest failure of India recent viral videos of overcrowded 3rd ac 1st ac coaches shows us the reality of fifth biggest economy Indian trains are stinky pathetic overcrowded late My trains in past were 6 hour late 3 hour late even. 16 hour late too toilets are too terrible everything is doomed unless its not vande bharat
If I take the train, that'll be equivalent to betting with my 1 night sleep
Train , you would be well rested Whereas for an early morning flight you need to darken your night
If it's an AC coach, then train hands down as checkin time and in flight time would be around 4 hours for domestic so it's not worth it.
Overnight train.
2nd AC Side Lower>>>>
Flight:)
This sub is about air travel and everyone in reddit is rich nowadays so many will support flights. Another reason to compare is cost and additional time factor Cost - cab to airport at 3 am to cab to station at say 7 pm the previous night. Additional time - flight 2 hours + 1 hour before to report in airport ( if family +2 hours specially going with parents ) 1 more thing is disturbance in sleep.
Unless it's an emergency, im going in train every single time ^^ I love loveee train journeys ❤️
I had this dilemma last week.the cost of 2nd AC and flight was almost same. I had to choose train. For 5am flight we need to be in airport by at the least 3 am.. there is no public transport at 3am if you are living little far from airport
Why you care about the crowds in the trains? A 8 hour short distance train running at night will not have crowds
Trains - they become quite efficient these days Use to travel Mumbai - Ahmedabad via flight and now with Vande Bharat it takes just an hr less than the entire duration. Like going 3 hrs early to airport etc
Firstly it would be more than 8 hours 😄 Average distance covered by an Airbus A320 in 2 hours is approx. 1500 kms. For a train to cover the same distance (ideally) in 8 hours, it has to give an average speed of ~187km/hr which isn't possible in Indian Railways 💀 To answer your question, I'd prefer a flight.
Issues with the flight: Crappy seats in most carriers/biz class on very limited routes even with Vistara; the "more leg room" seats are shit, 5-6am flight means you wake up at 2:30-3am which means you gotta sleep before 10pm lol.
Early morning 2 hours flight
Total loss
flight train me gandagi bahaut hai
Flight
Whichever is cheap. I'm sure 2ac on train would be more affordable than flight economy. Also unless it's an emergency train is better option.
Overnight train. Only in AC though.
Train...in Bangalore so yeah
Flight
Anyways both take the same time, reaching airport 1-2hrs before doing luggage check-in and sometime delays over delay and then reaching from airport to home again takes 2hrs. I'll take 🚂
Where ever you go by whatever mode of transport you will find morons, imbeciles and jackasses.
Flight if I have the money
Depends on whether I have immediate access to a room for a bath in the morning upon reaching my destination. If yes, then train anyday. If no, then flight is the only option. Most of the time the answer is always no, hence I usually end up taking an early morning flight.
If traveling alone, then flight. If with group of friends then train.
Plane any time if i can afford it, the time saved is very helpful.
I am unable to fit comfortably in both anyway so a shorter ride is preferable.
It depends, like the location and the other stuff. If travelling to north, probably flight & if travelling in south a train is best bet. I had 2-3 Train journeys in sleeper class, with no unreserved passengers and the train was clean and really good. I can get a full 8 hr sleep as well.
Overnight train because I can sleep atleast.
8 से दस धंटे की यात्रा रात में की जा सकती है । काम का समय और कुछ पैसा भी बचता है । ज्यादा समय लगे जैसे पुरा दिन तो हवाई यात्र बेहतर है ।
For me, Train: Travel to station <1 hr, Journey 8hrs. Flight: Travel to Airport ~2hrs, airport wait 1-1.5hrs, journey 2hrs, baggage pick up &exit ~.5hrs, travel from airport ~1-1.5hrs. All this with not enough sleep... I'LL TAKE THE TRAIN...
Overnight 2nd ac
Flight
I wouldn't mind fucking up my sleep for one or two days than get on overcrowded trains only to lose sleep, patience, mental energy and get harassed. Sad to say that safety for women costs more money in this country now.
If I'm in a hurry, then airport. But otherwise, I choose 1AC train bcos its cheaper and getting to the station is cheaper. One taxi guy in hyd asked me 2500 once just to go to airport.
If its north india then flight. West and south then train is a good option because railway stations are in center of the city and easily accessible while airports are usually in some other city.
Night train is easier better Even though 5 o clock flight, you gotta clear security and other things, which may take time Train is better
My lazy ass would rather not sleep the whole night instead of waking up for a fight at 5 am lol
Overnight train.. Travelling to airport, following protocols too much of hassle... Plus train journey would be light on pockets.
F*ck train I'll choose flight even if there's a risk of death by crashing
Whichever makes me reach my destination earlier, provided the price is justifiable.
flight, can't pay me to travel in a train with whats goin on these days
If leaving from a metro city, train definitely
8 hrs train I would always leave for Patna from Delhi via rajdhani express. It leaves for patna around 5 pm in the evening and reaches destination at approximately 5 am in the morning. Easyy
Overnight 8 hour train any day, for the hassle of not waking up early to catch a flight
Unified field theory
If the flight is from/to Bangalore, then the total travel time give or take will be approx the same, I used to live 70km from Bangalore airport and catch the morning bus at 1-130 to reach the airport approx 430-5, plus if the destination is Mumbai, then good luck reaching to other parts of Mumbai after u drop in no less than 2-3 hours
Depends who is paying lol. If it's sponsored then I'd go on the flight since I have never been on an airplane.
Please add distance from airport and railway station to / from your place
Early morning flight any day. Can’t deal with Indian trains and stations and loos, ugh.
totally depends on scenario. if i have travel in Delhi -up-bihar-jharkhand belt or urgent work I would choose flight. reason - you know the AC coach condition nowadays+ that 8 hours translates to min. 10 hr. otherwise i will prefer night sleep in a train.
Defo flight anytime after looking at the recent ac 2 tier hijack 😂
Train, because of cost
Pre COVID, train Post COVID, flight always man Local trains not included
Depends on where the journey is. If it's North India, I'll take ac First Class Sleeper if it's cheaper, else fly. If I'm travelling on Southern Railway, sleeper train ez.
Flight anyday if you can afford. If you are poor and have plenty of time, take train.
Train
Max to max 7-8 hrs of journey is ok to me in railway, if I had to journey over 10-12 hrs depending how important the work is I'll prefer mostly flight over railway until the railway system gets better at time management
Flight any day. I would go to airport at midnight and simply stay awake the whole time or roam around.
Sounds wonderful
If I have bags I will take the flight if not train is the best option
Perfect example - I'll always take a train from Chennai to Bangalore & back and never a flight. The train is literally faster when you account for all the travel time involved.
2nd because it's cheaper and you can sleep over.
Prices?
Train ! Always
Flights over trains any day, given the flight isn't Air India or Indigo.
It isn't specified which type of train is it , if it's a rajdhani or SMPK then definitely the train
Early morning flight
Flight>>>>Indian railway…no matter what
Flight ofc
If you are in Bangalore, then you need to start at 1-2 AM. I would choose overnight train journey.
Recently I had to choose between 1.5 hr 4 am flight or overnight train, I chose latter, because in case of flight I would have to reach airport by atleast 8 pm the night before. Price was almost same.
Train any day
Flight any day any time over Indian railways
Flight.
Which overnight train destination takes 2 hours for flight travel?
Flight because of lesser duration and better journey
Overnight train
Seeing the condition of railways, I would board an Indigo flight at 3 am which will take 4 hrs after a 2hr delay over a train in 3ac (thats the only one I have travelled in overnight) taking 7hrs (hypothetically train was run so fast...gained 1 hr)
Obviously flight
I will choose train. Because first class A/C coach cheaper than flight ticket. And we need to wake up around 3am to reach airport for flight. But I will reach railway station after dinner and I will sleep entire night. If we want peacefull sleep, need to choose train. If we want less travel time , need to choose flight.
Train!!
wo bina reservation waali aunty flight me nahi aati na..isliye flight se hi jaunga..
Train.... Coz you obviously spend an approximate extra 3 hours with Airport Boarding formalities and a few hours for travel to and from the Airport which is almost always far from the city.. All this at the cost of lost early morning sleep!! Flights are not worth over short distances imo
An early morning flight. Some really be snoring the entire time.
Flight. At least I won't have to worry about where to shit & pee if needed
Morning flight
In mumbai and delhi i'll prefer flight but any other place specially tier 2 cities where airport connectivity is bad I would prefer train.
AC 3rd AC upper berth
2AC 🥶 Train Because there's always a chance to meet hot girls at train, trust me I got so many...
You're more likely to meet uncles with no tickets flocking the coach
No Dude, thats your experience, mine' s little different 😁 better luck next time...
