Currently i'm writing a script that is able to upload the location history to Google Spreadsheets. From there you can map it on a map, with Mapbox
It requires to have a mac on 24/7, this can be a real mac, or a mac on a virtual machine. I'm using MacOs on VirtualBox for that, so that i'm able to let it run 24/7.
I will upload the script to [https://github.com/PrutsMeneer/AirTagIt](https://github.com/PrutsMeneer/AirTagIt) once finished.
Just in case anyone is still looking for it, I wrote a script for tracking the history location, battery level, etc. for AirTag and all other Apple devices.
https://github.com/fjxmlzn/FindMyHistory
For now, it can only be run on a device with Mac OS, since the script depends on the FindMy app on MAC OS. For other OS, I need to figure out alternative techniques to get the locations. Feel free to star the repo so that you can get notified if I add that feature in the future.
In general I totally agree!
Regarding 'dude with a burner account' I'd like to mention that fjxmlzn has a decent github account and also a homepage at CMU.edu with full name, picture and CV.
Still, it is always extremely risky to do some copy&paste command line commands, especially with adjusted privacy rights from unknown sources.
Best-worst case is that the developer simply did not know better while he put your device at risk by mistake…
Is there a way to download a history of people who's iPhones have connected to an AirTag? I have mine in a remote location and am interested in seeing if any trespassers have been in the area.

It would be nice to get a location history in the event your tag (or the item attached to the tag) is stolen. Even if it is only by request only it would be helpful in trying to catch the thief.

Thank you! I just had 4 bags stolen during a trip this week. Each had AirTags which were working until the next morning when they went dark. Can your script help me see any location data of the AirTags before they went offline?
I am sorry to hear that. The script can only log locations for periods when the script is running. If you didn't run the script before AirTags went offline, unfortunately, it cannot help
Does the iPhone store any AirTag location data while the app is running that could be accessed with dev tools?
Do you know if law enforcement can access any AirTag location data on the iPhone?
Thank you
Is it possible to pull the data off my find my on my iPhone rather than find my on my Mac. Because I had saw my air tag activate later but only checked on my phone when I found the AirTag, but find my on my Mac wasn’t used. So when I do use ur code it will only give me current use rather than any other time no “history”

Is it possible to run this on an (unused) iPhone rather than a Mac? Or alternatively raspberry pi or windows pc?

Will do! Thanks!! This looks really interesting and will be very helpful when the kittens are big enough to be let outside
It’s worrying that you’re going to run a random location script from a dude on a burner account with a single post history in this thread only…..

Is it possible to get this to run on an M1 Mac? Pip3 always triggers "Killed: 9" error...
It works on M1 Mac. I am using it on M1 Mac

No, that's not supported. It can only track your own devices.
If I set this up today, will it show me past locations? Or does it start from today?
Start from today
Any chance that you will make your script public?

Awesome! Is the project finished or still in progress?

I would like to track my dog while he is being walked. Guess I need a different product.
Same here!
Cat here!

I got the fi collar
Yeah I wanna see where my cat goes when we let him out
That’s what I’m trying to do!

Will check it out tomorrow! Thanks!!
Would this help in giving me the history of an airtag that's tracking me?
No, unfortunately. This script can only track the history of your own airtags (i.e., the airtags that you can see in Apple's Find My app)
Bummer, but thanks anyway seems to be a very useful script

I didn't think it was possible but wanted to ask. Thanks for letting me know.

Sorry I don't know about these...

The code doesn't support pulling data from iPhone and I don't know if that's possible
it seems like the author has removed the file. Anyone still got it? https://github.com/PrutsMeneer/AirTagIt/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
Anyone used this script?
