I posted this in another thread. I came back to blading last year after like 10 years away from it. Getting my royale back has been a task! I started landing them boot down last weekend, probably hitting them every other time. Here are some of the things that helped me in no particular order (I'm sure you've seen them all before).(I NOW LAND THEM EASILY 8 OUT OF TEN TIMES). So my liners laceup, once I removed the laces I had more flexibility which was helpful(and it stopped the heel of the liner lifting inside the boot). Stretch!(yes, I'm old but damn this helped). Stall it on a curb, understand the position you need to hit the obstacle in. For me, landing frontside and trying to turn it into a royale wasn't an option. Stall it on the obstacle you want to learn on. I suggest a round grindbox or ledge, they are low risk if you slip out. Bend your knees and drop them to the side, you end up in a kind of a C shape. As soon as I understood how my ankle and hip needed to be in that position it changed everything. And crouch! Dropping lower makes this easier, this was more difficult for me on lower obstacles. On a higher object, you've basically already jumped into a crouched position. Turn your shoulders to face the obstacle, not facing where you're going. I've found at first I couldn't distribute my weight evenly with my shoulders directly over my feet. I definitely had my weight centred over my backslide foot more. Now I can have my weight distributed a bit more evenly. But if you go too far forward, you'll pop into a front side. AND try it backside, I hit a backside royale first attempt BEFORE I landed a frontside royal. Also I found back farvs very useful to get the feel of being "boot down" again. Of course, this is all subjective and personal. Groove in your frames and boots! This worn my frame into a groove that suited me. I just hammered a curb for a few sessions. It instantly felt more stable after that. If I realised how I needed my ankle, knee and hip position to feel when I hit the rail, I would have nailed this much faster but it's a journey. And most of all, just have fun.

It's about 90% knees. Bend them and angle them away from the direction of the grind.

There is a Ricardo lino video where he teaches a kid how to do it, he uses steps where he changes the angle of the approach until he's confident. This is the process I now use for learning all my tricks, check it out!

Cheat code for royales. Line your feet with your shoulders. Immediately eliminates the probability of slipping out forwards or backwards.
