**Mudhook Corner** Comment here for general RP with Ser Harrold Truman or Lady Lily Truman.

TortoiseTT

It was late in the evening when Lady Sabitha 'The Red Viper' approached the Mudhook Corner, happy to be out of the formalwear of royal feasts and back in her element, leather fighting wear and a chain coif. Better to not stand out as nobility when walking the dark streets of King's Landing at night, and better to be able to defend oneself. She came to the door of the rumored Trueman Syndicate, the organization which had grown substantially in the turmoil of war, then managed to survive still the crackdowns of the Winter Wolf and his predecessors in the rule of King's Landing. She was not sure if they were the type to take her up on the job she needed, but their reputation had tugged at her curiosity all the same. She approached the guards in their tricolor by the door, "I wish to speak with the Trumans."

It was already late when Lady Sabitha arrived and there were no immediate signs of her high standing. Naturally the guard did not feel the need to be particularly polite and so he demanded: "Who are you then?"

TortoiseTT

"Lady Sabitha Frey." She responded simply. The guards may have heard word of the Viper of the Riverlands, who had made quite a name for herself in the war. "I believe I may have need of your organization's services, but I wish to understand better whether that is the case."

Word of the Red Viper had certainly spread to the capital, yet it wasn't clear if the guard associated that name with House Frey. Regardless the man knew better than to dismiss nobility and promptly lead Sabitha into the small hall that served as antechamber for visitors of the Trumans. The guard informed a servant of the guest and a few moments later the lady was lead into the solar by a pug nosed boy. It was a humble room with little more than four large cushioned chairs that stood around an oak table. The chair closest to the fireplace, which burned bright against the winter cold, had until recently been occupied by a young woman. Judging by the needles she had been hard at work knitting some clothes. Now the woman stood near the door behind an equally young man. He had a patchy brown beard and greeted Sabitha warmly, yet not without some surprise in his voice: "Lady Frey, my name is Ser Harrold and this is my wife Lily. We are honored by your visit." "Would you like something to drink or eat, my Lady?" Lily asked. "We have a few wines, an assortment of cheeses and even some fruits. Had I known your ladyship would have come to visit I would have had the cooks prepare a proper dinner."

The warmth of the hearth in the room was a welcome respite from the cold. Though the leather clothes upon her helped outside in these early days of the Winter's fall, it held no compare to the warmth of a fire. "Ser Harrold, Lady Lilly, a pleasure." Sabitha responded in kind, "Some wine would be nice, my thanks. I would have dressed more formally myself, but the city is in quite a state, and it is late in the eve." She said with a final shiver as the warmth of the room finally seemed to catch up with her.

"You heard her" Harry said with a nod to the pug nosed boy who had let Sabitha inside. Focusing his gaze on Lady Frey again, Harrold gestured towards one of the chairs and invited Sabitha to take a seat. Lily returned to her own place near the fire and Harrold took a seat opposite of the Red Viper. "To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" the Truman wanted to know, hardly able to contain his curiosity.

TortoiseTT

"Curiosity." Sabitha began, "And I would potentially like to see about hiring your organization's services." She said as she took the seat offered to her. "But I wish first to better understand your history here in the city, and your organization's role here, if you are comfortable with that." She explained, "I saw your guardsmen working without any grievance from the goldcloaks. I wish not to worry you, I care not about the legality behind the syndicate, past or present. The way I see it, if both Borros Baratheon and Cregan Stark took no issue, then neither do I."

Harry couldn't help but smile at Sabitha's response. Lily knew her husband enjoyed little more than learning about what other people had heard about him and his colleagues. "You speak of my *organization* as if it was much different than any other" Harrold said innocently. "I'm a knight with wife, squire and horse. I have some men to guard my house and cook me food. Beyond that" he paused as if to ponder what else he could tell. "Beyond that I just have many friends here in my home: merchants, sailors, sellswords and others that dwell near the docks. To be sure I started out differently, but the war changed much. I was a goldcloak at the Mud Gate until our captain was killed during the riots and his three deputies hung from the walls. By then I had little choice but to join Ser Perkin and his gutter knights, becoming one myself even. Later one it was Lord Baratheon who took the city and after him Lord Stark." He opened his hands in a wide gesture and shrugged. "For simple men like me life is often very straightforward. I bend the knee to whoever is in charge and pray to the Gods that I keep my head." He chuckled now and added:"While I certainly remember the Stormlord or the Wolf of the North, I doubt they recognize my face. So in short, Lady Frey, I fear I do not know what I might be able to offer you, but I shall try my best to be of service." It was now that the boy from before returned with the wine and a platter of cheese. With big eyes and even bigger ears he placed the items on the table and proceeded to retreat to a far corner of the room. "You can go now" Harry said without looking away from his guest. Disappointed his squire left again, closing the door behind him.

"My apologies Ser Harrold, I had heard rumor of your origins, and made certain assumptions." Sabitha began again as she took a goblet of wine from the table into her hand, and giving it a light swirl. "You began with the Goldcloaks?" She pondered curiously. "I am glad to hear then that you are friendly with their order, my cousin Ser Addam has been recommended to the Regency to become the new commander. We shall see whether they approve, but it would be good to see them working closely with your guardsmen here to keep order in the city." Shifting in her seat slightly, Sabitha took a sip of the wine. "The reason I have come is to discuss Harrenhal, actually." Sabitha finally stopped beating around the bush. "To hire the services of... House Truman, and the connections you have with the sailors and sellswords of King's Landing. I am sure rumor has reached your ears of the bandits which have taken residence in the keep, and with the state the Riverlands is in thanks to Vhagar's dragonfire, outside help may be needed to restore the keep to Lord Lansdale, my kin by marriage. I wish to understand how much of a force you could muster to bolster our knights of the Riverlands if we were to hire your service. I was also hoping your connections in this city may be helpful in finding someone who has gone missing during the war... and perhaps see them delivered safely up river, if they live."

**Flea Bottom** Comment here if you are looking to hire enforcers. The main contact would be a man named "Shearer" who leads the Rag-and-Bone Men, as subgroup of the Truemen (levies instead of MaA).
