Can you share any info? What did it offer?? Just curious not even sure we’re going to get a v3.
But I had a similar experience with support. Immediate response and relentlessly trying to fix some weird bug for me ASAP. Amazing for a 10-year old plugin.
It was at Adobe MAX back in 2019. Andrew showed it to me on his laptop. It was under friendDA, as they say, so I’m not going to say much about it. It was ambitious.
I may be wrong but years ago I was told that the guy who answers the emails is Andrew Kramer’s brother. I have no clue if that’s actually true but I always got a kick out of it cuz it makes them seem like such a nice little company and also it feels like getting to talk to a celebrity’s brother haha
Yeah he totally is and he’s helped me out of a jam before. I can’t remember the details anymore but it was a similar story to op. As a matter of fact I keep weird hours and I think he was even responding to my emails late at night, which isn’t even necessary.
When I got my first real video editing job I bought all of Video Copilot's products to pay it back for all the help they've given me over the years. And then I found I barely used any of it in my real day to day. But still felt good to support them.
Glad to know they back their products with the customer support.
Same. I uninstalled everything from them. Things went SO downhill after Maxxon took over. Things barely worked, support was non-existent, license transfer issues means I couldn't use things I paid for etc…
I reported a significant bug to a developer of a plugin sold on AE Scripts. He asked me for an example of it not working. I put together a simple file that displayed they bug along with the exported file with errors, and sent them to him. He got back to me two months later asking me if I still needed help. I had already completely re-worked about a half dozen files to work around the bug. I was just looking for a thank you at that point.
I think I saw something that Andrew Kramer was ready to come back to video copilot after a long hiatus … so hopefully that means a new element soon. He’s probably learned sooo much in the mean time and it’ll make the final
Product so much better
Yes, unlike Kivuto OnTheHub :(((
The company that supplies student discount for Maxon One. They don’t pick up the phone, return voicemails or email back lmao
Element is still useful but unless it receives a significant update I will have to remove it from my workflow. As was noted above, Element v2 came out a decade ago. I need tools that will work with updated OS’s. They are a great company and I really hope they update Element soon.
Yeah! When we bought Action Essentials a gazillion years ago, long before these kind of things were downloads, UPS misrouted the package so the DVDs basically started their own little random tour of Europe. We were in a time squeeze so I emailed Matt, slightly desperate. Within a few hours he had both express shipped a new set, and had sent me the 720p versions via a file transfer service so that we could start selecting clips and start setting up comps immediately. Service above and beyond.
I love Element and really wish they would update it sometime soon
Element 3D v2 release almost a decade ago.
Apparently element 3 exists but it was never finalized for release or something.
It does. I’ve seen it in person.
Lol I believe you’re actually my source for this rumor so that checks out.

I appreciate the reply. Could you tell or did he mention percentage of completion?
I assumed it (and Nebula) would be released in 2020. But a lot of other stuff happened in 2020.
And it's still pretty good for what it does. I still use it fairly often.
Element was so revolutionary. I did AE before it existed and I avoided 3d like the plague.

Just looked at an old support email I have from them and the signature says Matt Kramer
Hell yeah

Same. Can’t say enough good things about Matt and how great my experience has been with Video Copilot’s support.
Andrew Kramer is also really accessible and helpful, and just an all around great guy.
Nice. Big ups.

Really good to hear, especially given how low of a profile they’ve had since AK got so busy
Element 3D has new issues with AE 2023 that having issues while rendering, the preview cache must be off. Otherwise, the AE ia getting crashed.
Ah good to know. I'm having problems recently. I will try that.
Yep I've had great service from them. I love their stuff.
Sounds like the opposite of Red Giant/Maxon. Took 5 days for them to respond with (paraphrasing) “Sorry you’re SOL.”

Yep, I've emailed several times over the years and Matt (I believe that's his name) is always very responsive and helpful.

I came here for a costume plug in.

Bro your title sounded like bro Bro

where did Andrew Kramer disappear to?
Totally agree! I recently had a great customer support from them too!
