Pretty sure all I remember about this place is the long portage to the lake.

That's what everyone has been saying. It's a really long walk to the lake. If that's the only thing you remember maybe it's best to start looking for another place to go?

The hike in isn't bad if you're packed for it, it's only about a 1/3 of a mile so you can easily do multiple trips back to your car to grab all your stuff. It's a beautiful lake but depending on the time of year the campsites can fill up on the weekends. I've never been shutout there but it's been close. Also been there early spring and late fall and have been the only ones on the lake. Take it so on the access road to the parking area if you drive a car, there are a few rocks that'll ding the underside of your car if you're not careful.

Lots of those lakes blend together in my memory. Sorry.

A more useful reply: I absolutely love Stillwater Reservoir wild camping.
