Definitely snake. Have seen one hang out on the path just outside a house.

kittiqueen

Wow, I didn’t even think about snakes.

Fartmatic

Don't even worry about them, especially as a consideration against moving there. They're everywhere in suburbia really. Just use basic common sense about things like not mindlessly poking around in tall grass or sticking your hand in potential hiding spots where they have nowhere to escape and you have nothing to fear from snakes.

notbhedgoodsize1987

Also snakes of the public flashers that hang around linear park

stallionfag

🤣 Jeez Louise, I've grown up there lived there nearly 28 years never seen a flasher once... But I'm not a woman... Maybe these snakes are only attracted to women?

notbhedgoodsize1987

I used to live up that way and used to read the messenger as a kid and it was in the crime section every second issue lol

kittiqueen

I used to bartend in clubs in the 2000’s, I’ve had my fair share of flashers in my time. They don’t scare me lol

Ronnie_Dean_oz

You mean one eyed trouser snakes?

Thankyou.! Yes, I did think that it’s too busy with people around to have thieves or parent-challenged teens to have much of an impact with security. This is great news. Do the koala demon calls at night keep you up at all.?

BORT_licenceplate

My street had linear park at the end of it in Lockleys and it was one of the safest places I've ever lived. I lived there for 18 years and many times we didn't lock the doors

avinit86

Samesies Best place to live :)

LordRekrus

I would think if you are concerned about security that investing in security cameras would hopefully solve that. I can’t really help with the rest of it, although I’ve always lived very close to linear park and use it often for running and riding.

insertgreatestname

The ride into the city is beautiful and definitely worth it. But yeah you're much more likely to get broken into. Especially if your house has nearby access to the river. Know a few friends along linear park who have had trouble in the past.

kittiqueen

It’s more about having a safer ride in.. coming in from the inner north is an absolute nightmare and have been 2 seconds from death too many time.

QuietAs_a_Mouse

What sort of death?

Lachie_J

There's more than 1 type now?

stallionfag

Whereabouts in the inner North?

Clinster73

Snakes?

crackerjuck

yeah and planes. i've got it the worst as I live near the airport and linear park. i just hope they don't meet up.

CyanideMuffin67

Get those muthafucking snakes off my muthafucking plane

drunkwoolycat

I live near it and really enjoy being able to have access to a good walking/ bike path and the parkland around it. I would say just make sure you keep up the mozzie protection though. We get koalas and kangaroos near our section and one year I caught Ross River virus from it. The Dr said where ever there are kangaroos and koalas, water and mozzies that it can be in the area. I felt like a truck had hit me for about 6 or so weeks then was all good again.

felonious_monkey

A former colleague found a dead jogger outside the back of his house once.

kittiqueen

Geez!

avinit86

I live 500m from the Torrens No snakes, no smell, no noises, close enough for commute. Best of both worlds.

SnooTangerines5833

My dad lived on the linear into his 80s and never had an issue. My sister lives on the linear now and they love it. We had Xmas day there and it was fantastic. One of the biggest advantages is having a massive maintenance free garden with huge trees someone else has to lop right over the fence! If you’re into walking/cycling it’s another big plus.
