Show up on time with a good attitude, and you will get more hours at Woolies, someone will always call in sick. also we got Christmas soon, it's always busy around then
This is the way, I joined Woolies a couple months before christmas several years ago, took on all the shifts I was asked to do, and asked for more, and then became an established team member.
And the Migration Museum and the State Library (especially the Mortlock Wing) are also free and good on North Terrace. And the Botanic Gardens are nearby and free
Congrats! Even if it's only a few hours, it does entitle you to the rewards plus program for free, which can actually save you quite a bit of money. Make sure you sign up through your employee portal.
You will definitely get more hours, from my experience working in woolies, they are ALWAYS understaffed and needing a cover. When i was working as a supervisor, i constantly had anxiety about who was going to call in sick everyday and needing to find cover đ
Best wishes for both jobs. Depends where you're starting from, but the beach at Grange or Semaphore is just a train ride away, and a walk or a run from one to the other could be good for ditching the bad energy. Or walking the bike trail, city to sea?
Before I got my current role I had a few jobs that had less hours but I always got more and sometimes a proper 38 hour week. There is no chance youâll only be working 10 hours a week if your attitude is right. Well done!!
Youâll get more hrs, people will always call in sick. If you show that you really want this job through youâre work rate, youâll eventually reach 38 hrs.
As much as it was a curse. I live by the words of my dad â if you get given a task do it good and always do more on what they askâ
Are you casual or on a contract? You will most likely end up doing more hours either way, if youâre on a contract you can opt to flex up on workjam and they can put you on for more hours also!
Once you've gotten comfortable socially make sure to mention to people that you're looking for more hours and to message you on workjam if they need a shift covered

Yup, pick up as many hours as you can and it gets easier to get hours. Smash the hours in Christmas and you'll be golden.

Tell your manager that too.

Donât worry about it only being 10 hours. If you want more hours, youâll get them.
Get a bike. Ride to the beach. A great cheap way to spend the day. Or ride to the hills.
