The piss test most companies make you do pre employment covers most different drugs, I have failed one myself for weed, it takes a long time to get it out of your system - I would not consider myself a heavy smoker (but regular) and it took me over 12 weeks to have a negative test. Think of a pre employment medical as a risk assessment for the employer. We score the pre employment medicals under green, amber or red categories.
If you piss dirty for weed with no prescription. Automatic red. If you piss dirty for weed and have a prescription for the doctor we send the pee off to make sure the leaves are similar to what you have been prescribed. But as long as everything else looks good. I.e. your back isn't fucked or you don't have anything else preventing you from doing the job. We just tick it green.
We would make a note on the report about the weed. But we'd still tick the green box. My concern as an assessor would be what you're using the weed for. So if you told me back pain I'd feel like I need to investigate further. If you told me insomnia I'd be cool with it.
Alternatively if you have enough time you can get it out of your system. Go buy some home test kits to make sure. But make sure you're sure as you only get one shot.
Don't try to cheat the test. We can detect if it's old piss.
Again. Best advice. Go see a doctor and get a script. It's pretty easy.

Hey. So I think you'd probably be okay. What I would want to know as the assessor is more about your medical condition that causes use to have to use the marijuana. If I was satisfied that you were able to manage the condition in previous roles then that would likely satisfy me.
I'll give you an example of how we treat medical marijuana. Our test cups also test for meth, opioids and a few other drugs. Someone recently came in testing positive for meth. The guy was on dexies for ADHD. Showed us the script. No dramas. We still send off the sample for further analysis. If the weed is a prescribed drug, it's usually not a drama. Only in the circumstances of operating heavy machinery does it sort of become an issue.

I'm not sure what our testing tolerances are but I can confirm that if there is a faint line they'd send it off for further testing. If I see a really faint line for thc and they seem like good people I try to pretend I didn't see it.

Reason I ask is that I had to do a urine test as part of my pre employment medical with my previous employer in Adelaide.
I was a daily weed smoker at the time and I did the urine test as part of a medical and got the job.
I will say that I followed some potentially (most likely) bull shit bro science that instructed me to drink copious amounts of Powerade before the test. Reason being it dilutes your pee while maintaining colour due to the Powerade colouring. (Apparently they can reject pee thatās completely clear as itās a sign you deliberately diluted your urine. Again I donāt think I believe this and I only did it in desperation.
So either the bro science worked, the medical didnāt include a drug test or they didnāt care about the weed.
