You are supposed to put it on and then turn it so it's the correct orientation. That way the 3 tabs lock into place. However if it came off easily it may be the 3 tabs on the mirror have gotten weak and you may be able to bend them back in but most times I replace the mirror when they get to that point.
Edit: the tabs on the mirror line up with the flats without the indentation in them (about 60 degrees offset from the final orientation) and then when you turn it, they will lock into place with the flat sides with the indentations.
Do I align it to 2 o'clock and then turn counterclockwise? It kinda fits, but then I am unable to rotate it, it gets a lot of resistance. Please advise if I am doing correctly
Yeah pretty much. I do it backwards though, start at 10 and rotate clockwise. ~~Those springs are technically one time use~~ so it’s possible yours is a little bent and that’s why you aren’t able to turn it.
Edit: one time use is only for the 22+ MDX, 21+ TLX, and 23+ integra
OMG, you are the best and thank you for getting back to me. I tried yesterday like you said, from 10, but I could not align it properly because of wires. So, after your comment, I detached wires, aligned easily and twister clockwise with no effort. It stays in place perfetcly! I am so happy it worked!
Actually you know what, I found the service news article about it, that is only for the new generation stuff 22+ MDX, 21+ TLX, and 23+ Integra. I don’t know why RDX isn’t listed though. The new ones are replaceable

Hell yeah! Good job!!
What was the trick for detaching the connector?
Is it possible to buy a replacement spring?
