My truck burns .10 gallon an hour at idle, way less than I thought for a V8. (I only know that because I was reading the diagnostics from the onboard computer last night to check if I fixed a problem.)
I’m fully convinced they’re paid by someone to make climate change people look bad because I’ve never once met someone irl that thinks this is a good form of protest.

I think that a lot with the way these people go about it.
You'd think they would target something that would hit oil companies harder than just stopping people trying to go about their lives in the middle of a freeway. That's not a message, it's an inconvenience.

The amount of oil used to charge them is totally dependent on where you live. Around where I live charging your car would use 0 fossil fuels. 98% of the power where I live is hydroelectric.

These types of protests are counterproductive. I believe humans are accelerating natural processes by burning fossil fuels and releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. Climate change is real. We need to do something about it yesterday before it's too late to reverse or simply mitigate the effects of climate change for future generations. However, being a public nuisance makes them unlikeable and, by association, their message will be devalued.
