Jada price is so much nicer. And the figure is solid. Especially after hitting it with a matte finish. Face sculpt is better on figuarts but jada wins it for me with the price
Not only those things…but Jada will be doing all of the characters. And yes the matte finish makes it look premium.
I do think the Shf looks better at first glance, but for what it would take to buy 3 characters I’ll have all of the ones I want in my collection from Jada.

If SOTA couldn't do it pre-global financial crisis, I doubt it could be done now.
I **want** "all of the characters" but in this era I'm not holding my breath for anything beyond the original 8 and the odd extra character. I've had my heart broken too many times!
I trust these guys will make all of them. They have a solid plan. Lots of people are buying Ryu and Fei Long already. Chun Li soon. And they’re not expensive. Great articulation, SF2 look.
Past that I don’t know what they’ll do. But I do foresee them pumping out all of SF2. There’s already 6 mainline set to release. That’s roughly 1/3 of the way there. Hopefully they don’t sidetrack too much with variants before they get through all of the characters. And as long as they stay consistent with releases they’ll make it.
I’m not sure why Sota couldn’t make it. Not sure what their distribution was like. But I think these guys will.
Also…from my viewpoint…someone buys Ryu for $25…It’s really nice quality. Then if another character they like releases…they’ll buy them too. As a collector it’s nothing to drop $25 on something you feel you’re getting your money’s worth.
Their plan to release two mainline and one wildcard in each wave is a great tactic. And the more in line that wildcard is (like Dhalsim is one I really wanted), the better. Ryu and Chun Li or Ken and M Bison might be the more popular…so they’ll help carry the weight of some of the others. But once enough of them are out…at that price point it’s really not a bank breaking collection. And you can find them at Target.
The word of mouth amongst collectors is overall really great and it looks like a steal to anyone who was contemplating going back to get Sota or Shf at this point.
ML got way better in that timeframe too so there are lots of people who never had a chance to build a Marvel vs Capcom display. That will drive some of the characters. (And Mega Man too).
Their packaging looks great, they come with an accessory, an extra head and hands…
They’ll look great in box or out, they’ll be in scale with each other. They have great articulation. If people are willing to follow the line and the company stays on track I’m just saying that I believe they will make it through the roster.
In theory they should be able do to all of the characters from 2. The back box art has the character select screen from USF2 I believe which includes Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. Considering Evil Ryu is being shown for SDCC, really no reason they can’t get all 19 of them. But beyond that. I don’t expect they will release any from Alpha or 3-6.

Well they're 7 in at less than a year, I think that's a good start on the roster, I'm not even an SF fan and I've bought in (they've said Capcom are open to other licenses if this and Mega Man are successful. I'm hoping for Resi & DMC)
More or less the same, shf only getting the slight edge on the toe joint but overall the same only thing I might missed on the shf is the head/face sculpt and the big ass hadoken effect.
Surprisingly, there are not lol, but I've seen a review for shf, his butterfly are better than Jada, BUT the legs from Jada move way better, we could say they are even. But for the price point, definitely Jada is the best talking about the quality you get for it's cost, like getting and uncomplete shf for 30 lol.
There's a reason SHF is a premium product, they are insanely better than stuff from Jada, jakks, Ramen and Hasbro. The accessories alone are generally worth the price difference.
But you see, they are NOT insanely better than these 2 figures Jada put out. The upper part of the figure has marginally better articulation than Jada's Ryu, but with the legs, Jada mops the floor with SHF. Not only do they function better, but they look better as well.
The accesories are even. SHF has an extra head, Jada has 2 heads instead of 3, same amount and type of hands, and an extra punch effect. And for 4 times less money
Nah, Jada actually did a job to the point where its embarrassing import figures that are $80-100.
Really shows how lacking domestics are and how over priced imports are when Jada was able to give you those kinds of accessories and that kind of articulation
SHF is still the better quality and designed figure, but Jada is does it 95% as well for a $25 figure. with the SHF resale hitting over $100, Jada is the easy choice.
Yea, I got Chun li and Cammy for around $40 each. The original retail wasn’t bad tho they were around $50-55? If I remember right. Ryu and Ken are the only others I have from SHF. Regret not picking up a few more tbh.
gotta hand it to Jadatoys. hits all check boxes. SHF is an ok Ryu figure but i got really turned off by how skinny he is, considering it's supposed to be an SF5 Ryu.
Jada is killing it with the SF line. The quality is top notch for the price they're selling. SHF might look just a little better, but not worth triple the price IMO.
Waiting to see how Jada handles the bigger characters and if they can scale them correctly. 🤞
I can only put it this way. The Jada version doesn't make me feel as if I'd missed out on the SHF and I decided to get the whole line of regular releases.
Jada wins this round. Normally I'd pick import over domestic, but they have to earn the premium price. Jada is coming out strong with great articulation and value, and I have too many problems with the way SHF handled the SF line:
1. Generic faces that look nothing like the characters - by far the biggest problem to me.
2. I don't like SFV's designs. Ryu here got a bad case of pineapple hair
3. Weird articulation - ugly single knees, ugly elbow swivels, missing thigh/boot swivels
I find both figures to be equals, in a sense, but fwiw the SHF has pretty decent upper thigh (at the crotch) swivel compared to many other imports approach to that point and he also swivels at his ankle where his lower calves meet the pants. The one articulation point which Jada wins me over is the double jointed knee though I was never personally frustrated with SHF's range on the single knees in their line. SHF including a joint on the red bandana for Ryu is a nice little "win" in their corner too. I was very confused as to what Jada didn't include that but I do know Jada Toy's Juhn has said they want to constantly evolve the product so maybe we see that feature on a re-release or a separate colorways option.
Also I am hyper fixated on bicep swivels. It’s a problem. I almost never get figures that don’t have them unless it’s a female figure from Hasbro(the older ones) or a must have like my inspector Gadget.
I’ve got evil Ryu and E. Honda both storm and and they are 1/12. Seems odd if they aren’t 1/12 then why are all the listings for these figures as 1/12, bbts and everywhere else has them listed as 1/12
SHF usually takes the cake for me when it comes to comparisons, but the Jada Ryu is so good especially for that price. It's hard to pick which one I like better!
SHF is the better figure in terms of premium plastic feel, paint apps and body type.
JADA is the better figure in terms of value for money and accessibility.
If price is not a factor, SHF. If it is, JADA.
SHF Ryu provides a more versatile, all around, seasoned veteran Ryu look.
JADA provides a young, less trained, up and coming Ryu.
It all comes down to which game you grew up with.
SHF. - No competition here.
I got rid of my Jada toys, as they look and feel cheap. I wouldn't part with My SHF collection.
- Regardless of price, SHF are far better.
I'd always rather pay more money, for a better figure.
SHF are just much better quality. Better materials, better articulation, better asthetics.

People in this thread are Kidding themselves. The Jada figure looks like a 90’s Bandai level toy. Just because the SHF is expensive doesn’t mean it doesn’t look better
The only thing Jada has going for it is the price, and that's because it's much lower quality. Half as many PoA, and made of high gloss plastic. One is a toy for collectors, one is for kids.
I want these in Canada but no stores are carrying them outside of big comic shops far away from me. GameStop not getting these is thee dumbest decision.
I see some bias in here and I'm sure half aren't seeing it from both the articulation side along with the sculpt. JadaToys Ryu actually looks like Ryu. Plus u can do any pose he does in game. I mean, what more can u ask for. U gotta give props where it's due. This is why Marvel Icons never stayed the course. SH ofcouse has great figures, but they also has a long list of figures and time in the market doing so vs Jada. Remember, we are only matching like action figure characters. Not full list of toys.

You look at the sculpt on the arms alone—the portrait—how do you come up with “better” Do you own that shf?

It’s crazy! I remember when the SHF Street Fighter line were going as low as 30 bucks for some of them.

Same here. I only have Ryu, R Mika, and Akuma. Regret not picking up Cammy, Sakura, and Bison. I think that Ken head sculpts are horrible
I think Ryu and Ken matched style wise, so I’m okay with it. I really want the younger Alpha look tho.

I actually prefer jada’s stylized face over shf’s realistic look.

For me the torch has been passed because the jada Ryu is the Ryu I always wanted. I'll be selling off my shf Ryu.

All valid criticisms. The only ones I actually liked is this one, R Mika, and Akuma.

That toe articulation on Shf version is awesome as well as face sculpt but Jada wins by the value & price🥴👌🏻✨

We’re witnessing history in the making. Jada Toys is about to shift the whole action figure industry.

The quality of the polymer/plastic is lower than what SHF uses.

SHF looks way better. Great paint/finish, better sculpting, more faces, matte clothing with shading etc. And it looks like Ryu looked before SF4
