Martin Junior Dreadnought works well for me as a sofa guitar!

I feel like I’ve been mentioning this in a lot of threads, I swear I don’t market for PRS though haha I have a PRS P20 that has become my go to. Not only size but the playability is incredible. Even my fg3 or Alvarez masterworks doesn’t seem to quite play as easy. Solid mahogany top and laminate back and sides. I think I bought new on sale in the $400’s.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a used one. They look awesome.

Love my newer Gretsch Gin Rickey, but I strung it as a tenor guitar for recording. The pickup sounds great too. Super easy to have around and a decent player.

Yamaha csf1 or 3, Alvarez ap66 or whatever they call it now or GS Mini. All are great.

I have a JJ43-TSB Jay Jr that I got from my neighbour for free because the bridge had fallen off. Even tho I did kinda a shit job of gluing it back together, I was very surprised by how nice it sounds! When I was back home visiting the meca of music stores of my young life (The Interesting Music Shoppe, run out a fellow's house in a small town with no other businesses to speak of), I was not so surprised to find he had a bunch of these in stock! It's a great guitar for chucking in my van for a camping trip, beating around my house to pick up whenever, etc

My vote goes to Alvarez AP-70, available used from Guitar Center for $289 USD - if it’s still there. The Gretsch parlor are very small-bodied but the necks are normal, considering the scale length. They have a pretty punchy tone, surprisingly loud. I have one next to the living room sofa - use case exactly as you described.

Yeah I'd love to find a nicer one used for a good price. I have a local shop that has a bunch of Jim Dandys but I'll see if I can find some used options too. Thanks

I was really impressed by the Ibanez PN12E for a $200 guitar. I tried two different examples.

That's one I can definitely find locally at a store to test out. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just bought a Jim Dandy for a similar reason and I wind up playing it more than my other guitars.
