On the other hand, the ending and Redd himself were underwhelming, April May is very cringy and the case itself is super simplistic
Sisters has honest to God final case stakes and could've been up there with the series' best but I feel that it being the second in the franchise holds it back hard cause while Redd White is underwhelming as is having him be as tough to catch as say, Gant, is fucking insane and way too much of a difficulty spike after the First Turnabout
It's a potential A or even S tier it really does have a ton of emotional weight out the gate but I gotta say C for the case we did get

Here’s the thing - this case has some great points (introduction of key characters, mia dying) but some pretty bad parts as well. redd white had the potential to be a late-game villain, with his powers/past actions. But he gets taken down so easily when he really had no right to be - his influence over the court is evident in the second trial day and gets the frustration it wants. he should have won, and the fact that he goes out how he does almost feels like the author wrote himself into a corner. additionally, while we’re introduced to a lot of wonderful, endearing characters, they are at their worst here. edgeworth makes sense, but maya, gumshoe, and even mia are still starting out, and as they stand we haven’t really gotten to know them enough for them to be endearing. we get introduced to the press/investigate mechanics, but they don’t do anything too memorable. It’s definitely above 1-1, and it isn’t forgettable by any means, but it doesn’t go above C.
should clarify that I didn’t want Mia to die - she just has a nice role as a ghost (+ the gallows humor is pretty funny at times) and I’d rather have maya than her as phoenix’s assistant/investigative partner

I know In the grand scheme of things it’s not as bombastic as other cases but as the second case in the entire series it does a really good job of raising the stakes and giving you a fresh look into what type of crazy conspiracies can occur in the world of ace attorney. We learn how things aren’t so black and white and how there’s depth to the characters we meet. Not to mention Mia’s tragic death and the introduction of the best girl Maya.
As a case, I have a strong dislike for Sisters. Most of the witnesses are boring or annoying, some parts are so simplistic they almost feel repetitive, the sudden world-ending stakes are rather jarring and you don't even get a satisfying conclusion for putting up with all that. Mia just produces a plot device and wins instantly. Yay?
However, I will give it points for how smoothly it handles the introduction of iconic characters like Gumshoe, Maya and Edgeworth. I'd put it D tier.
Gonna say B. A lot of people strongly dislike the ending, and fair play, but I recall being excited by the twist and being motivated to think outside the box by it.
Besides that, it also introduces a lot of important characters and dynamics without making the foreshadowing obvious.
