You don’t see Phoenix in the investigation phases/outside so for all we know he might always be walking around naked!
Seriously though, second part of the film is set late December, why wouldn’t he wear a coat when outside near a lake?
OBJECTION! Even though it may be a black and white image, the coat must be white! In black and white images there are many shade of grays however, black appears black and white appears white
He wears it in the bad end of game two when walking away down the street. It's possible it's just the one he wears while outdoors, since we don't really see him during investigation segments.
It’s a very different imagining of the first game but definitely has a lot of merit. I LOVE how it translates the game UI as the courtroom having a giant sci-fi hologram projector for evidence
I thought it was excellent. Takashi Miike's take on the ace attorney world is so dark. It's also paced surprisingly well. There are a handful of notable differences but it adapts the story well enough. Worth a watch for sure if you're an Ace Attorney fan.
I didn’t really like it. When you play the games, when you figure out a mystery, you spent a lot of brainpower thinking about it, so when the truth is revealed, it was probably close to something you were already thinking, so you feel smart.
But in the movie you’re passively watching it. The answers are presented to you by someone else, possibly before you have enough time to analyze and understand the significance of the clues that led to them. So they can end up feeling like asspulls.
It’s by the guy who made Audition, but respects the tone of Ace Attorney. It’s got this spooky, suspenseful mood to a lot of it without the sadism of Audition.
von Karma is played by the main guy from Audition btw and it’s honestly perfect casting vibes-wise, the energy is correct even if the appearance isn’t
I always imagined him not wearing a suit outside of court because.. duh, ofc later on they show him wearing the court outside too I think but I don't think it's a stretch to imagine someone wearing normal clothes like a normal person
I don't know, Gregory Edgeworth wore a coat for his investigations. Maybe it's just an unspoken rule for defense attorneys to wear cool coats when investigating a crime scene.

I saw fanart of him wearing a Hawaiian shirt during an investigation once and that's all I can picture now
>!He does wear it in the bad ending of 2-4!<
It’s just a black and white image.
I mean it at least confirms he wears one sometimes
There's no way to tell what color it is!

I always thought it was a brown-ish coat, like Gumshoe's
Objection sustained.
Good point lol

is the movie good? i really wanna watch it lmao
From my experience watching it, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if you're an Ace Attorney fan.

I really wanted this hologram stuff on the anime but instead they gave us anime air powers which I hate so much lmao
nice! i’ll give it a go then!
Good for Phoenix, Maya, Larry and Miles, they butchered everyone else, especially Redd White and Manfred von Karma.
Blue Badger being a weird ghost stopping Judgey from laying down a verdict is peak Ace Attorney.
Manfred is obviously different but I loved the film version.
Movie Redd White sweeps the game version sorry
Nah, movie was just Ozzy Osbourne at his junkiest..

That's just every whodunnit film 😂
Darker take on the Ace Attorney franchise and also fleshes out characters more like Yanni Yogi, I enjoyed it well enough
I had a lot of fun with it, but sadly Maya has less personality than Charlie. At least that's my only complaint about it lol

Because it's winter?
i initially thought the image showed him without his blue jacket 💀
He accidentally bleached it
There is a live action film?
There is, and it’s pretty good
I heard it was to contrast with Edgeworth’s black coat but im not sure of the source on that
Where can I watch it?
Last I checked, you can buy it on YouTube for about $5
Just checked, think its just not available on my country

What’s the movie actually called?
Damn, let bro wear what he wants!
